FATAH: Trudeau is perfecting the art of the ghetto

The curse of identity politics and ethnic vote banks in Canada has become the most racist aspect of our country’s slow and steady slide into the moral bankruptcy of our political values.

Thirty years ago, when we landed as immigrants at Mirabel Airport in Montreal, the 1988 federal election was just around the corner. It didn’t take long for me to sink my teeth into the politics of the land. Despite the fact we couldn’t vote yet, our house had a sign on the front yard “This Time It’s Ed”, the slogan of the NDP’s dynamic leader in the 1980s, Ed Broadbent.

Trudeau Faces a New Foe as Conservatives Retake Power in Alberta

MONTREAL — The return of conservatives to power in oil-rich Alberta adds another province to a growing bloc of opposition to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau of Canada and his government.

Incomplete returns late Tuesday night showed the United Conservative Party led by Jason Kenney, a former Conservative federal cabinet minister, leading the New Democratic Party under Rachel Notley by a substantial margin.

While neither Mr. Trudeau nor his Liberal Party have ever been particularly popular in Alberta, the loss of a left-of-center ally is not welcome news for him six months before the federal election. Mr. Trudeau has been weakened by allegations from a former attorney general that he improperly intervened in a criminal case.

GUNTER: Trudeau’s cries of neo-Nazi are just modern day McCarthyism

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau seems to be testing out a 21st-Century version of McCarthyism to see whether that can get him out of the SNC-Lavalin bog.

Trudeau has tried a dozen legal and political maneuvers to get himself and his party unstuck, none of them successful. He and his government even tried ramping up federal spending and running still-larger deficits just so they would present a goodies-giveaway budget that lowered interest on student loans, helped pay part of first-time homebuyers’ mortgages, subsidized dairy and other farmers, offered rebates on electric cars and pumped billions into municipal and First Nations’ infrastructure.

Why is conservative politics such a natural home for white supremacists?: ̷N̷e̷i̷l̷ ̷M̷a̷c̷d̷o̷n̷a̷l̷d̷ ̷ By Katie Telford, Crayon By Justin Trudeau

Interesting how the term “white nationalism” has somehow begun to supplant the more honest phrase “white supremacy,” both here and in the United States.

Everyone seems to be using it now. It will be an election campaign topic in our general election this fall, and the American one late next year.

And let’s be clear, it’s a euphemism. The word nationalism, to most people, has a virtuous whiff; historically, it’s been conflated with terms like patriotism and loyalty and solidarity with one’s civic tribe.

This is low even by CBC standards, the left’s favourite Trump smear, the “fine people” Charlottesville comment is a lie. And if guilt by even the slimmest of association is a thing then Justin Trudeau is a woman beating pedophile terrorist rapist – Hello Ghomeshi, Joshua Boyle and Peter Dalgish.

Care about mass immigration? You’re a white supremacist.

Question diversity and multiculturalism? You’re a white supremacist.

Speak out against political Islam? You’re a white supremacist.

Defend your own interests rather than than roll over and die as the CBC would prefer? You’re a white supremacist.

Dissent from the Liberal Party agenda? You’re a white supremacist.

Voting against Justin Trudeau? You’re a white supremacist.

Welcome to your tax subsidized CBC, a subsidiary of the Liberal Party of Canada.

GOLDSTEIN: Voters, not judges, will decide fate of carbon tax

With six months to go before the Oct. 21 federal election, the fate of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s national carbon tax is in the hands of voters rather than the courts.

In that context, Trudeau’s self-inflicted Lavscam scandal may be the real reason he loses his fight to impose his national carbon tax on the four Canadian provinces which oppose it.

Court orders new look at Aga Khan’s vacation gift to PM

OTTAWA — The Federal Court has ordered the lobbying commissioner to take another look at whether the Aga Khan broke the rules by giving Prime Minister Justin Trudeau a vacation in the Bahamas.

In September 2017, then-commissioner Karen Shepherd said there was no basis to a complaint that the Aga Khan, a billionaire philanthropist, had violated the code for lobbyists by allowing Trudeau and his family to stay on his private island in the Caribbean.

LILLEY: Trudeau flirts with terrorist supporters, angers India, again

Add India to the list of countries furious with Canada over Justin Trudeau’s leadership.

How many more countries can Trudeau alienate?

The PM was elected on a promise to put Canada back on the world stage. Not that we had left, but in his view, Canada under Stephen Harper no longer put forward true Canadian values.

Maxime Bernier says Trudeau’s warning against white supremacy is ethnic attack

OTTAWA (Reuters) – Maxime Bernier, the founder of a right-wing party running in Canada’s October federal election, said on Monday that Liberal Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s warnings about the dangers of white supremacy were an attack on an “entire ethnicity.”

…His comments on Monday were in reference to last week’s move by the Trudeau government to change a report on terrorist threats in Canada that was first published last year to no longer explicitly mention “Sikh extremism.”

“We’re told the word Sikh was removed because ‘entire religions should never be equated with terrorism.’ And yet, (Trudeau) has been warning us for weeks about the dangers of ‘white supremacy,’ equating an entire ethnicity with terrorism,” Bernier wrote on Twitter and Facebook.

Justin Trudeau’s “white supremacy” bender is a desperate appeal to his base ahead of the coming election designed to curry favour with Sikh extremists and his Islamist constituency. Additionally this will sell well in the Annex and other progressive ghettos. Liberal-left white progressives are race flagellants who unpack their “privilege” in order to deceive themselves and reinforce their imagined moral superiority.

Trudeau governs as a sociopath opportunistically playing up or sacrificing any principle, well anything for that matter, convenient to his ends. It’s nothing new, previously he attacked pro-life Christians to demonstrate his alleged feminist bona fides.

The Liberal Party uses mass immigration, multiculturalism and diversity to divide and conquer and now we see the intended results – Tribalization & 3rd world politics are the new normal in Canada.

On the upside Trudeau has just had his “Deplorables” moment.

Removing Sikh reference from security report was extreme pandering, says Ujjal Dosanjh

Last Friday, the Liberal government removed a direct reference to “Sikh extremism” in its annual Public Report on the Terrorism Threat to Canada. This came after several prominent Sikhs in Canada told the Liberals that Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and other politicians would be barred from attending upcoming community events. The updated version of the report instead discusses “extremists who support violent means to establish an independent state within India.”

Over the weekend Amarinder Singh, the chief politician for India’s Punjab state, denounced this change as a “knee-jerk decision that was clearly aimed at protecting [Liberal] political interests in an election year.”

Feds could tell you when to drive if carbon price law stands, court told

TORONTO — The federal government will end up with the power to regulate almost every facet of life — such as when you can drive or where you can live — if its law aimed at curbing harmful greenhouse gas emissions is allowed to stand, Ontario’s top court heard Monday.

Ottawa’s climate-change law is so broad, a lawyer for the province told the start of a four-day Appeal Court hearing, that it would give the federal government powers that would be destabilizing to Canada in the name of curbing the cumulative effects of global-warming emissions.

“They could regulate where you live. How often you drive your car,” Josh Hunter told the five-justice panel. “It would unbalance the federation.”

Naval officer’s trial could haunt Liberals in fall election campaign

Like the SNC-Lavalin controversy that has dogged the Liberal government since February, Conservative MPs charge that the Norman case also involves political interference — in this case, to make a senior naval officer the fall guy for an embarrassing political leak.

“To the Liberal government, he was a problem, and now he is being set up. It is shameful,” Conservative MP Erin O’Toole told the Commons earlier this month.

What the SNC board may have known about the firm’s dealings in Libya — like the office safe with $10M cash

There’s no question that millions of dollars in bribes were paid to the Gadhafi regime in Libya to win lucrative contracts for SNC-Lavalin.

The former head of the company’s global construction arm admitted to bribery, corruption and money laundering in 2014. He pleaded guilty in a Swiss court.

But the Quebec-based engineering firm has long insisted that Riadh Ben Aïssa was acting alone and in secret.

‘Worst tax ever’: Ontario to square up against Ottawa in court over carbon tax fight

TORONTO — The federal and Ontario governments are set to square off in the province’s top court this week over Ottawa’s climate change law in a fight experts say is as much political and ideological as it is legal.

At issue is the validity of Liberal government legislation that kicked in on April 1 and imposed a charge on gasoline and other fossil fuels as well as on industrial polluters. The law applies in those provinces that have no carbon-pricing regime of their own that meets national standards.
