Mexico to file criminal complaints over illegal alien invaders killed by ICE in US

Claudia Sheinbaum announced on Monday that Mexico would be filing criminal complaints in the US for the deaths of more than a dozen Mexican migrants in immigration detention and those killed in anti-migrant operations.

The deaths include last week’s killing of Lorenzo Salgado Araujo in Houston, whom Sheinbaum said was “practically murdered”.

“It’s a case that sparks outrage among all Mexicans,” the Mexican president said during her morning news conference. “We cannot simply continue with diplomatic letters that have yielded no results.”

Ontario must pay social assistance benefits to a foreign migrant living illegally in Canada a tribunal has ruled in a case revealing that welfare intake workers did not conduct an immigration check of the applicant to avoid jeopardizing his ability to remain in Canada.

The Ontario Social Benefits Tribunal heard an appeal by the man who declared he had come to Canada in 1997 on a temporary work permit. Although his permit expired after four years, he never left.

The ‘anti-racist’ rot at the heart of Britain’s police

At 9.31 on the morning of Yom Kippur last year, a man named Jihad Al-Shamie drove his Kia Picanto into the security gates of the Heaton Park Hebrew Congregation Synagogue in Crumpsall, Manchester. He then got out and resumed the attack with a knife. He was wearing what looked to everyone present like a suicide belt. The first 999 call came from witnesses at the scene; it was only after firearms officers were already making their way to the synagogue that Al-Shamie himself rang emergency services to claim responsibility and pledge allegiance to Islamic State – a gesture that resolved any ambiguity about his motivation with an efficiency the subsequent police communications would struggle to match. Armed officers shot him dead within seven minutes. Melvin Cravitz, aged 66, and Adrian Daulby, 53, were killed; Daulby, it later emerged, by a round from one of the responding officers, a tragedy Greater Manchester Police handled with considerably more transparency than they managed with their characterisation of the attack itself.

Algerian caught trying to rape woman was let go by police

An Algerian who tried to rape a woman near Buckingham Palace was released by police despite being caught red-handed, a judge said.

Algerian-born Ramzi Barkat, 54, followed the lone woman out of St James’s Park, central London, in the early hours of Sept 7, 2024, Southwark Crown Court heard.

After his attempts to flirt with her were rejected, he tackled her to the ground, grabbed her wrists and “straddled” her, Judge Justin Cole said.

The violent rage of North African hooligans

A police officer was hospitalized on Thursday night in London as Moroccans vented their fury at losing to France in the World Cup quarter-final. Riot police were deployed to the Edgware Road after Moroccans set off fireworks and chucked debris at officers. Police arrested four people for “violent disorder.”

There was also tension overnight in several Dutch cities, although the rioting wasn’t as bad as a fortnight ago when Morocco beat Holland in the World Cup. On that occasion police subdued hooligans with a water cannon and numerous arrests were made.

Is crime falling? Some conservatives, notably Steve Bannon, argue that Americans should ignore the FBI’s crime statistics showing record drops in violent crime. The murder rate last year fell to the lowest rate ever recorded, and the violent crime rate is clearly at the lowest in many decades. Asylum seeker Hadi Alodid accused of Belfast knife attack appears in court as police admit they still don’t know where he is from

The Belfast knife attack suspect appeared in court today – as police scramble to work out his country of origin.

Hadi Alodid, a 30-year-old asylum seeker, has been charged with the attempted murder of Stephen Ogilvie, 44, who lost an eye and suffered injuries to his face, head and back in the attack last month.

Graphic video footage filmed by witnesses and shared on social media showed a man armed with a knife pinning another man to the ground before repeatedly striking him to the face and neck.
