The phrase “diversity, equity and inclusion” (DEI) is commonly trumpeted as an irrefutable good that justifies all that is done in its name. It has appeal when advanced to include people who were previously marginalized from public and professional life, but that appeal fades when it’s used to justify widespread discrimination — a point we have long since passed here in Canada.
Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey announced on Thursday that he has filed a lawsuit against International Business Machines Corporation (IBM) for violations of the Missouri Human Rights Act and allegedly discriminating against those who are not “underrepresented minorities,” such as whites and Asians.

The president of the Chicago Teachers Union claimed during a radio interview that aired Sunday that conservatives don’t want black children to learn how to read.
Stacy Davis Gates made an appearance on WBBM 780 AM to defend the union’s contract demands. Gates claimed that conservatives who expressed criticism of the demands “don’t even want black children to be able to read.”

There is a lot wrong both with the name that Toronto city council chose to replace Yonge-Dundas Square and the burden that the name change will place on taxpayers.

Evidently it’s a crime to demand that the mass migration of incompatible cultures be stopped. Good to know!

HISTORY lecturers at the University of Liverpool have been advised to “problematise” whiteness and heterosexuality in their seminars.
The advice has been given in guidance on how to “diversify” and “decolonise” the history curriculum, sent this week to academics at Liverpool – a member of the prestigious Russell Group universities.
But last night critics lambasted its recommendations as “ideologically driven” and “divisive”.

‘Discrimination’ as BAME two and a half times more likely to be accepted
Non-white applicants to the BBC’s flagship journalism training scheme were almost two and a half times more likely to get in than their white counterparts.
Since 2022, an average of 22.5 per cent of applicants were classed as coming from black, Asian and minority ethnic backgrounds (BAME).
However over that same two-year period, BAME individuals made up 41 per cent of participants on the scheme.
The same crap happens in Canada.
Milton Friedman’s first rule for government programs to alleviate poverty was: “If the objective is to alleviate poverty, we should have a program directed at helping the poor … There is every reason to help the poor man who happens to be a farmer, not because he is a farmer, but because he is poor.”
Roses are red, violets are blue… but why are so few flowers ever black? Might it be because gardening itself is an inherently racist pursuit these days? It certainly is in the eyes of some.
During coverage of the Chelsea Flower Show held in late May, BBC Gardener’s World presenter Monty Don and his co-host Joe Swift sounded surprised by the chosen winner of the event’s Best Show Garden award, saying the procedures of judgement had “all become so technical” and a mere exercise in “the boxes… being ticked”, in an increasingly technocratic “procedure that is like passing a driving test”. And which particular boxes were being ticked at Chelsea? PC ones, as usual.
‘Is this legal?’: Elon Musk questions UBC hiring practices
The position is federally funded through the Canada Research Chair program, which a spokesperson for UBC explains “identifies population-based targets for federally designated groups.” Canada’s Human Rights Code specially allows for hiring programs that “target historically underrepresented groups.”
Explaining further, employment lawyer Daniel Lublin told CTV News that the diversity provisions in the hiring process for this position are not only legal – but federally mandated.
“Mr. Musk really has no clue what he’s talking about as it relates to Canadian law. He has no idea whatsoever,” he said.
What an asinine response from that “lawyer”.

A group of teens forced a woman to miscarry with a brutal attack after she and her husband dared to stray onto a Chicago street that the youths claimed as their own.
The 41-year-old mother was returning home with her husband from a date night on Friday when they were surrounded by at least 10 young people in the city’s notorious Streeterville neighborhood.
The woman, who gave her name only as Nina, told Fox32 that she was pepper-sprayed in the face, kicked in the stomach and lost a clump of hair as her husband was held back by the mob.
