Ontario reports 486 new COVID-19 cases, 5 more deaths

Ontario is reporting fewer than 500 new COVID-19 cases for a sixth day in a row and five more deaths on Saturday.

Provincial health officials logged 486 new infections today, down from 496 on Friday and from 654 a week ago.

U.S. will allow Canadians who had mixed doses of COVID-19 vaccines when border crossings resume Nov. 8

There is good border news for Canadians who want to visit the United States but who received mixed doses of COVID-19 vaccines.

The White House confirmed Friday morning that land border crossings for vaccinated non-essential travellers will resume on Nov. 8. And later in the day, the Centers for Disease Control confirmed that it will consider those who have received doses of two different vaccines to be fully vaccinated for purposes of entering the country.

Tory MP was killed in murder ‘linked to Islamist extremism’, say Met Police

The death of Sir David Amess was today being treated as a terror attack ‘linked to Islamist extremism’ as officers raided two homes in London and a British Muslim man of Somali descent remained in police custody.

Sir David was holding a constituency surgery in Leigh-on-Sea, Essex, when a knifeman in the church building launched a frenzied attack. The 69-year-old politician was wounded at least 12 times and died at the scene.

Horrified constituents waiting to see the veteran MP, who has campaigned to help refugees, watched in horror as the assailant leapt on him just after midday. Shortly after midday, the knifeman waited calmly in line after booking in at the constituency surgery before launching the fatal attack, according to witnesses.

Empty Christmas stockings? Don’t blame COVID; blame California

The conventional wisdom from the left is that COVID is the reason that shipping containers are in the waters off California with no stevedores or truckers available to take care of them.  The implication is that if people would stop being selfish and take the vaccines, the whole problem would magically vanish.  That’s nonsense.  As a couple of astute articles explain, the problem is that California has passed two laws — one for “climate change” and the other as a sop to the unions — that destroyed much of California’s trucking industry.  Add in woes unique to the industry and COVID payments that discourage people from working and…voilà!…empty Christmas stockings.

America needs a Marine Corps that wins battles instead of building woke safe spaces.

11 Marines came home in boxes after the bombing at Kabul airport carried out by an Islamic terrorist freed from a prison near Bagram Air Base that had been abandoned by Biden. Other Marines were seriously wounded and hospitalized for months after the attack.

All across America there are recruiting billboards for the Marine Corps with the message, “For Marines There Are Only Battles Won”. But in the runup to the disastrous retreat from Afghanistan, the only things the Marine Corps really cared about were wokeness and race.

Gallup Poll and Katie Couric provide new evidence why media is utterly distrusted and disliked.

While many on the left are still using the mantra “follow the science,” it appears to be a mantra that has no meaning. President Joe Biden made a speech in Illinois last week in a push to get employers to require COVID-19 vaccinations of their employees. Yet during the speech, he spread misinformation when he claimed that vaccinated people (he was referring to health care workers) could not spread the virus. We know that this is not true; vaccinated people can get the virus without showing any symptoms, and they can then spread the virus to others. Science also tells us that if you have had COVID-19 and survived, your body has created antibodies to the virus that causes COVID-19. A person who has already had the disease is less likely to get it again than is someone who had not. But in a push to get employers to require the vaccine, Biden ignored this science.

If it’s true Ms Rooney is refusing a Hebrew translation of her new novel, then that’s appalling.

If it is true that Sally Rooney is refusing to allow her latest novel to be translated into Hebrew, then that’s a new low for the anti-Israel set. It crosses the line from taking a political stand into territory that is much darker and more dangerous. This is what’s being reported: that Ms Rooney turned down an Israeli publisher’s offer to translate Beautiful World, Where Are You into the historic language of the Jewish people because she supports the cultural boycott of Israel. According to Haaretz, when Modan, the publisher, approached Rooney’s representatives, it was told it could not bring out a Hebrew version of the book because Ms Rooney backs the BDS movement and its demand that we boycott the cultural and intellectual output of the Jewish State.

A Texas school district superintendent apologized after an administrator was recorded suggesting that teachers should offer students access to an ‘opposing’ perspective when teaching the Holocaust, in order to comply with the state’s new laws banning critical race theory.

On Thursday night, Carroll Independent School District (ISD) superintendent Lane Ledbetter issued an apology ‘I express my sincere apology regarding the online article and news story released today.’

He apologized after a school administrator was recorded saying that teachers needed to offer opposing views to lessons, specifically naming the Holocaust.

COVER-UP: Loudoun County Schools Failed to Report Multiple Rapes Over Years

Although Virginia law requires that “Reports shall be made to the division superintendent and to the principal or his designee on all incidents involving … sexual assault,” Rosiak’s research revealed Loudoun County Public Schools failed to “record multiple known incidents of alleged sexual assault.”

The law also states that school superintendents can be held “personally liable for violations.”

Emphasis added, mostly for the benefit of Loudoun Superintendent Scott Ziegler, who claimed at a June school board meeting that “To my knowledge, we don’t have any record of assaults occurring in our restrooms.”

Woke Walmart has trained more than 1,000 employees in critical race theory, denouncing the US as a “white-supremacy system” — and telling staffers to accept their “guilt and shame” and stop thinking “white is right,” according to leaked documents.

The retail giant confirmed to City Journal that it has been working with the Racial Equity Institute, a North Carolina company devoted to “creating racially equitable organizations.”

English-speaking witnesses travelled to Paris on Friday to testify at France’s biggest ever criminal trial over the attacks claimed by Islamic State on 13 November 2015, which killed 130 people and injured more than 400 in synchronised suicide bombings and mass shootings across the French capital.

The tony, bucolic town of Dublin, Ohio would be one of the last places in America expected to host a convention of white supremacist militiamen. Nestled along the Scioto River, the Columbus suburb’s biggest claim to fame is hosting the PGA’s annual Memorial Golf tournament every summer.

But in June 2020, days after the nation was roiled by Black Lives Matter looting and rioting, a man from Wisconsin named Stephen Robeson sponsored a “National Militia Conference” at a Dublin hotel. (Yes, that was the real name of the event.)
