“Misled, angry, scared”: Another campus sexual assault cover-up in Virginia

First Loudoun, now Alexandria, and parents in Virginia have to wonder where else. National Review’s Inez Stepman used FOIA requests and personal testimony to dig into yet another cover-up of a sexual assault on a high-school campus. Parents are only now discovering this gang-rape of a 14-year-old girl at Minnie Howard High School last October, and now feel “misled, angry, [and] scared” over the silence of school administrators…

The 61-year-old rock superstar’s poem was unveiled by Pelosi at the White House’s annual ‘Friends of Ireland’ luncheon yesterday.

Bewildered guests were treated to such lines as: ‘They struggle for us to be free/ From the psycho in our human family/ Ireland’s sorrow and pain/ Is now the Ukraine/ And saint Patrick’s name now Zelensky.’

Russia regulator declares YouTube a ‘terrorist in nature’

A Russian technology regulator declared YouTube’s and parent company Google’s actions as “terrorist in nature.”

The Russian regulator Roskomnadzor claimed that social media platforms are allowing advertisements that encourage Russia’s communications systems and Belarus’s train systems to be suspended. The watchdog made all of these accusations as Big Tech companies make moves against Russia due to the country’s invasion of Ukraine.

They’re right.

Putin holds huge pro-war rally in front of thousands of ‘Z’ flag-waving Russians as he hails Ukraine ‘special operation’

Vladimir Putin has today given a tub-thumping speech to tens of thousands of banner-waving Russians in an attempt to drum up support for his stalled invasion of Ukraine, as he peddled debunked claims about why the war started and shilled a false narrative of Russia’s battlefield ‘success’.

The despot took to the stage at Moscow’s Luzhniki World Cup stadium dressed in a £10,000 Loro Piana jacket – despite his country’s economy crumbling under the weight of Western sanctions – to address a crowd waving Russian national flags and banners marked with the letter ‘Z’, which has become a potent symbol of the invasion.

Putin, who called the rally to mark the anniversary of the last time he attacked Ukraine to annex the Crimea region, spoke of sharing a ‘common destiny’ with Crimeans, of ‘de-Nazifying’ the region in 2014, and of the ‘bravery’ of soldiers currently fighting in Ukraine. He was met with chants of ‘Russia, Russia, Russia.’

Israeli leaders condemned reports that the United States is considering removing the terrorist designation from Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps in exchange for a public commitment to deescalating tensions.

The IRGC “is a terrorist organization that has murdered thousands of people, including Americans,” a joint statement from Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett and Foreign Minister Yair Lapid read. “We refuse to believe that the United States would remove its designation as a terrorist organization.”

Zelensky hails Founding Fathers and cultural heroes just as America rejects them

On Wednesday morning, when the Ukrainian president addressed the US Congress he tried to appeal to Americans. He spoke of the attacks on Pearl Harbor and 9/11. And he tried to summon up the foundational ideals of this country.

He said that “Just like anyone else in the United States I remember your national memorial in Rushmore, the faces of your prominent presidents, those who laid the foundation of the United States of America as it is today.”

The reference was touching, but wildly outdated.

International Energy Agency Calls for Restrictions on Domestic Oil Supply

Give up your car and start walking. That’s an order. The International Energy Agency (IEA) on Friday directed global governments to urgently cut oil supply to domestic consumers and encourage compliance with its call for lowered consumption.

The IEA 10-point plan to drive “changes in the behaviour of consumers” and reduce gas demand at the pump includes reducing speed limits, working from home three days a week, more electric cars, car-free Sundays, more cycle lanes, cheaper public transport and greater use of long-distance trains over planes.

Crowd boos guy at swim meet

Trans swimmer Lia Thomas, 22, blows away competition to win 500 yard freestyle at NCAA championships – but crowd goes wild for SECOND place winner on podium: Thomas says she ‘ignores’ criticism in post-victory interview

‘It means the world to be here, to be with two of my best friend and teammates and be able to compete.’

Thomas, whose continued wins and record-breaking performances have made her the world’s most controversial athlete, also roundly defeated fellow swimmers at last month’s Ivy League championships.

The Texan, who swam for three years on the university’s men’s team before transitioning in 2019, is now the first transgender athlete to win a NCAA championship – a distinction one of Thomas’ teammates said would be dubious if achieved.

What weapons will US give Ukraine – and how much will they help?

The burnt-up wreckage of a Russian tank lies in the dirt, while in an accompanying photo next to it, a Ukrainian soldier carries the armaments said to have caused the destruction.

The images posted to Twitter by the Ukrainian Armed Forces are labelled with a triumphant caption, declaring that this was the result of “hits from Javelins on [Russian] military equipment”.

… Mr Herbst said that the administration’s mention of Stingers as part of the aid package to Ukraine is a “sign of weakness”.

“They do need more Stingers, there’s no doubt about that,” he said. “But they need higher altitude anti-aircraft weapons as well…that’s a serious omission.”

Canadian navy cancels training course after alleged racist and sexual misconduct incidents

The Royal Canadian Navy has been forced to cancel one of its basic recruiting training courses on the West Coast after a series of alleged racist and sexual misconduct incidents, CBC News has learned.

Three sailors-in-training were kicked off of the course and one of them is being released from the military, a spokesman for the navy said late Thursday night after questions about the incident were posed by CBC News.

Four separate incidents allegedly took place between Feb. 15 and March 9 at different locations on the same training course at Canadian Forces Base Esquimalt, B.C.

With all the PC BS being implemented I wonder whether it was misconduct or rebellion at woke indoctrination?

MPs told of confusion, panic after Liberals vowed financial crackdown on convoy

The voice of Canadian credit unions says their members watched people make significant withdrawals after the federal government vowed a financial crackdown on the so-called “freedom convoy.”

… Martha Durdin, president and CEO of the Canadian Credit Union Association, said the combined effect was a degree of panic among Canadians that their accounts could be frozen because they made small donations to the convoy.

She said that led to Canadians withdrawing large amounts from their credit union accounts, sometimes in the hundreds of thousands and, on a few occasions, millions of dollars.

With the mask mandate ending in most spaces in four days, and the arrival of the BA.2 Omicron subvariant, hospital ICU occupancy could increase by a third to 300 patients by May, the Ontario COVID-19 Science Advisory Table says.

Ukraine war: President 10% Joe Biden to warn Xi Jinping China will face ‘costs’ if it helps Russia – likely to demand bigger share of Hunter’s deals

President 10%

The US president, Joe Biden, will warn his Chinese counterpart, Xi Jinping, that he will face “costs” if Beijing rescues fellow authoritarian ally Russia from intense western sanctions aimed at punishing Moscow’s invasion of Ukraine.

The two leaders’ first phone call since a video summit in November will be a chance to air differences as the US spearheads an unprecedented pressure campaign on Russia, placing China in a geopolitical bind.

It’s “an opportunity for President Biden to assess where President Xi stands,” the White House press secretary Jen Psaki said.
