The Islamo-left is on the march across Britain

The next time someone asks what we mean when we say ‘Islamo-left’, I’m going to show them footage from yesterday’s protest in Whitechapel in East London. What a morally suicidal schlep that was. What an unholy union of witless leftists and menacing Islamists. ‘Refugees welcome here!’, cried the granola-fed grads of the limp-wristed left. ‘Allahu Akbar!’, barked the masked mob of religious hotheads. Rarely has the lethal idiocy of the left’s bed-hopping with Islamism been so starkly exposed.

Jamie Sarkonak: There is a distinct pattern of trucker crashes in Canada

When a foreign trucker killed three people in Florida in August with a careless, illegal U-turn on a highway, I was not shocked. We Canadians hear about news stories like this on a regular enough basis.

But completely foreign to me was prompt action taken by American officials in response to the senseless deaths: driver Harjinder Singh was immediately charged with three counts of vehicular homicide and three counts of manslaughter, and one week later, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio halted the issuance of all work visas for commercial truckers, acknowledging the increasing safety risk they posed.

We Chased Driverless Trucks In Texas. What We Saw Will Scare You.

The comments on the true nature of the so called “Driver Shortage” are interesting.

Europe’s Urban Decline Exposed

From Birmingham to Berlin, Madrid to Malmö, people have given up on safety — and on those who were meant to guarantee it.

Twenty years ago, Europe still felt whole. Streets were still. Nights were calm. Many slept without worry. You could wander Marseille’s streets without a thought or lose yourself in Venice’s narrow lanes without a trace of fear. Today, that sense of sanity feels like an artifact from an ancient time. The latest World Safety Index report confirms what most already sense. Europe is no longer secure. France and Italy — once the crown jewels of the continent — now rank below Rwanda and Bangladesh for public safety.

As Trump throws his tantrum, does Carney really have a plan

It looks like the Canadian side was caught flat-footed with U.S. President Donald Trump’s blow-ups last week – terminating the trade talks and then suddenly adding new 10-per-cent duties.

Then on Monday Mr. Trump said he did not even want to see Prime Minister Mark Carney. “I’m not going to be meeting with him for a long time,” Mr. Trump said.

So, where should the Carney team go from here?

Ivison: Dead comrades, no ammo and surrounded by Russians – Canadian Forces vet on the war in Ukraine

He described how the war has changed in the past three-and-a-half years, since the time he sent back video of him guiding mortar fire from a hide 600 metres away from the Russian lines.

“The fast progression of this war was unreal. It started with (the Russians being in the) next building beside you, close quarters combat. The next time I went back, there were a few drones for reconnaissance and they were armed. And then all of sudden I came back after that and joined the Vendetta group (59th brigade, 10th battalion Ukrainian Army). And when I got there, the place was littered with $400 drones with IEDs (improvised explosive devices) on them.

Mamdani’s Experiments Won’t Faze the Rich

New York’s business executives and wealthy residents are scrambling to convince likely mayor Zohran Mamdani to be just a little nice to them next year. But if elected, Mamdani won’t carry out most of his government experiments on them—rather, his agenda would disproportionately affect middle-class and poorer New Yorkers, who may not be aware of the cascading potential consequences of these policies.

Palestinians’ ‘Technocratic Government’: The Mother of All Deceptions

Are Egypt and Qatar working to ensure Hamas’s continued rule over the Gaza Strip by allowing the terror group to choose members of a new technocratic government?

Hamas has submitted a list of more than 40 “independent national figures” as potential candidates for forming a technocratic body to administer the Gaza Strip. Mohammed Nazzal, a senior Hamas official, told Qatar’s Al-Jazeera TV network that the proposed technocratic government is intended to “enhance humanitarian governance and management in the Gaza Strip in the aftermath of the war,” which erupted on October 7, 2023 when the terror group and thousands of ordinary Palestinians invaded Israel, murdered more than 1,200 Israelis and foreign nationals, wounded thousands more, and kidnapped 251 people.

CHARLEBOIS: Premier Ford’s trade tantrum proves costly for Canada’s economy

The United States and President Donald Trump are clearly frustrated with Canada’s handling of trade negotiations involving softwood lumber, automotive parts, oil, aluminum and steel.

Whether Ontario’s anti-tariff advertising campaign — funded by the Doug Ford government — is the direct reason Washington raised tariffs from 35% to 45% on non-Canada-U.S.-Mexico Agreement imports is beside the point. What matters is the escalation reflects a deteriorating diplomatic climate that will have very real consequences for Canadian agri-food exporters.

Which Potential Trump Successor Will Draw the Most Media Heat?

The Wall Street Journal gets it.

In Friday’s edition, Journal columnist Holman Jenkins Jr. closed his column by saying, more than accurately, this, with bold print for emphasis supplied:

I’m guessing many flyover Democrats have long seen the party’s blunder in associating itself too closely with the national media. The self-defeating Russia hoax, the shameless, unnecessary politicization of Covid—both helped Mr. Trump. Most damning was the conniving of Team Biden to push a senile, unpopular incumbent past voters a second time even at the highly probable risk of returning Mr. Trump to the White House…
