Humza Yousaf, a senior Scottish National Party (SNP) politician who brought a fugitive Hamas commander to meet with Scottish ministers, worked for a radical charity condemned by Western governments for its antisemitism and terror ties, and advocated for “progressive political Islam” is the front-runner to succeed Nicola Sturgeon as SNP leader, and become Scotland’s new First Minister.

Yousaf first came to the public’s attention in the late 2000s while serving as an aide to former SNP leader Alex Salmond and other senior party leaders. At this time, Yousaf was also running the Scottish Islamic Foundation (SIF), along with his cousin, Osama Saeed.

What the hell happened to the Scottish?

British journalist shows how the CIA played a ‘direct’ role in the creation of Google

Google “fundamentally started as a CIA project,” according to journalist and author of Propaganda in the Information Age, Alan MacLeod, who has warned that tech giants’ ties with intelligence agencies pose big problems for freedom of information as well as freedom of speech.

MacLeod, who has extensively researched the ties between the national security state and Big Tech, explained to journalist Whitney Webb on the Unlimited Hangout podcast how a prior investigation by Dr. Nafeez Ahmed found that the CIA and the National Security Agency (NSA) were “bankrolling” research by Sergey Brin at Stanford University, which “produced Google.”

Rights to ‘Crying Indian’ ad to go to Native American group

Since its debut in 1971, an anti-pollution ad showing a man in Native American attire shed a single tear at the sight of smokestacks and litter taking over a once unblemished landscape has become an indelible piece of TV pop culture.

It’s been referenced over the decades since on shows like “The Simpsons” and “South Park” and in internet memes. But now a Native American advocacy group that was given the rights to the long-parodied public service announcement is retiring it, saying it has always been inappropriate.

The so-called “Crying Indian” with his buckskins and long braids made the late actor Iron Eyes Cody a recognizable face in households nationwide. But to many Native Americans, the public service announcement has been a painful reminder of the enduring stereotypes they face.

Trudeau denies report that Liberals told to drop candidate Han Dong over China ties

OTTAWA – Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on Monday denied a media report from last week saying his office had been warned by Canada’s spy agency to drop a Liberal candidate, who is now a member of parliament, because he had Beijing’s support.

The Chinese government preferred Han Dong, a Chinese-Canadian, over another Chinese Canadian Liberal, who was passed over in favour of Han, said Global News, citing anonymous security sources in a story posted online.

FBI arrests so-called sedition panda in 6 January Capitol riot case

The FBI has arrested a man alleged to have taken part in the 6 January 2021 Capitol riot while wearing an unlikely mask: an enormous panda head.

Jesse James Rumson – dubbed the “sedition panda” by some – was arrested in Florida.

He now faces a series of charges, including assaulting or resisting a police officer and engaging in physical violence on restricted property.

Nearly 1,000 people have been arrested since the riot.

International aid agencies ask for more money in letter to Freeland ahead of budget

OTTAWA – Dozens of Canada’s international aid agencies are asking Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland to increase the country’s foreign assistance contributions.

The request comes in a letter signed by 75 non-governmental organizations, including the Canadian chapters of groups such as Oxfam, Save the Children, Unicef and World Vision.

They’re asking Freeland to increase international aid funding from the $8.15 billion pledged in the last budget and to gradually ramp that figure up to $10 billion by 2025.

We gain nothing. International aid is just a job scheme for the virtue signaling class and often a slush fund for corrupt regimes like Trudeau’s.

Eviction applications spike in Ontario as rents soar, vacancies dwindle

As Ontario faces a chronic shortage of housing and rapidly climbing rents, landlords in the province are increasingly trying to evict their tenants and take possession of those rental units.

In 2022, the Landlord and Tenant Board, which adjudicates rental-housing disputes in the province, received more than 5,550 eviction applications in which landlords sought units for themselves, family members or new buyers. That was an increase of 41 per cent from 2019, according to numbers provided by the province to The Globe and Mail.

Over the phone, the woman’s voice is regretful but hurried — she says she’s sorry, but if the French-speaking migrant on the other end of the line cannot find someone to translate English, the doctor won’t see him for the medical exam he needs in order to claim asylum in Canada.

CBC News obtained a recording of the phone conversation the man says took place Wednesday in Niagara Falls, Ont.

“It’s not possible to speak with the doctor if you can’t speak English,” the woman tells him in French. “You have to find someone at your hotel to help you.”

“I don’t know anyone here,” Guirlin — whose last name CBC News has agreed to withhold because of his precarious immigration status — replies.

Criminals Found ‘Workarounds’ to Bypass Canada’s $77 Million Electronic Visa Security Program: Immigration Report

Criminals have found ways to bypass Canada’s multimillion-dollar electronic visa system intended to maintain national security and public safety, according to a federal report recently released by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

“Those with malicious intent, including associations with fraud and human trafficking/smuggling movements, have found workarounds,” according to the report titled “Evaluation of the Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) Program” and August 2022.
