Police are searching for a man who allegedly sexually assaulted a woman while working as an Uber driver, then used her phone to give himself a tip and five-star rating.
Early morning Sunday, April 23, York police say, the Uber driver was in his white 2021 Toyota Corolla when he picked up the 26-year-old victim in the area of Yonge Street and Eglinton Road and took her to Vaughan.

A U.S. district court judge ordered University of Wyoming sorority sister plaintiffs to reveal their names in a lawsuit against Kappa Kappa Gamma’s University of Wyoming chapter for allowing a transgender-identifying man to be inducted.
Some call them the Salafist police. Others say they are just ordinary extremists. During Ramadan, a man attacked a mosque in Markham, Ontario, Canada. He allegedly yelled slurs, tore up a Qu’ran, and attempted to run down worshippers in his vehicle.
Some people on Twitter have raised the idea that the attacker was connected to Hindu extremist groups; however, the investigation is still ongoing.
This is one of two hate-motivated incidents at mosques in Markham in a week. Although police said they don’t believe the incidents are connected, as a researcher of online extremism I can theoretically link these events to a global trend of Islamophobic violence.

Bright blue crayon marks were found on a statue that is more than two centuries old at a conservation site in England after activity packs with crayons were handed out to children at the property, officials said.

… The message sender(s) – one or more disgruntled, or genuinely alarmed, CSIS officers – were not whistleblowers in the customary sense. Their mission was not to expose malfeasance, corruption, or some ghastly mistake that the agency had made.
Their message was political, its delivery staged to embarrass the government without revealing any truly damaging information. It conveyed a sense of festering antipathy in the relationship between CSIS and the Trudeau Liberal government.

Delays caused by the RCMP’s work-from-home directives in the early days of the pandemic are the reason for the collapse of a criminal case against a former Agriculture Canada scientist who was accused of illegally taking payments from China.
The Saskatchewan RCMP arrested the scientist, Yantai Gan, in November, 2019, and he stopped working for the federal government shortly afterward. He was charged with breach of trust by a public official, as well as fraud.
Now this is so stupid you have to wonder if the fix was in.

The abstract of a scientific study published in 1991 has been making the rounds on social media, and it is shocking on two levels. The first wave of shock (although not surprise) comes at you from what the study discovered: the mothers of gender dysphoric boys tend to suffer from a host of mental illnesses of their own.
The study (full text can be found here), “Mothers of boys with gender identity disorder: a comparison of matched controls,” was performed by researchers Sonia Marantz and Susan Coates, both of whom are Ph.D.s.
President Joe Biden formally announced his bid for re-election Tuesday, asking voters to give him another four years as America’s oldest president to help him “finish the job” despite plunging support.
