Why is Disney betting on the failed NFT market? Studio is accused of ‘grifting’ as it launches app where fans can collect ‘pointless’ images of Pixar and Star Wars characters
Disney, with depressed stock, a high-profile attack from an activist investor and succession concerns, has embarked on a speculative NFT investment.
Disney Pinnacle, a ‘digital pin and trading experience,’ was launched last month to offer fans the chance to buy and sell Disney, Pixar and Star Wars character NFTs.
These ‘non-fungible tokens’ are digital images which are given unique identification codes using blockchain – the same technology behind cryptocurrency – allowing them to be held as assets and traded online.
This is desperate and or just plain evil. NFT’s were a grift from the get go.

The Alberta Electric System Operator (AESO) issued a grid alert for power consumption on Friday.
The alert was issued at 4:16 p.m.
“The AESO issues a grid alert when the power system is under stress and we’re preparing to use emergency reserves to meet demand and maintain system reliability,” AESO wrote in an online statement.
Apparently AESO reported last evening that every wind turbine in Alberta shut itself down due to extreme cold – this is the alternative energy source we are supposed to count on? Wind and solar farms are a pathetic joke.

Barbra Streisand’s film company, which pays the groundskeeper at her $20 million mansion, got $200,000 in PPP money intended to help small businesses make payroll written off, The Post has learned.
The multimillionaire star’s Barwood Films Ltd. received loans from the Paycheck Protection Program in 2020 and 2021 — then had them written off by the federal government.
Understandable, she’s a wealthy Hollywood Democrat party donor so it’s natural she feels entitled to tax payer money.
