Asylum seeker brings dog to Britain by small boat
A German shepherd has become the first dog to make the perilous journey across the Channel in a dinghy after landing with its owner on the south coast.
The animal’s owner is believed to have been housed in a hotel for asylum seekers for the past four months since arriving from France, while the dog has been held in quarantine.
Discussions are believed to be under way about officers adopting the dog, whose breed can be easily trained, as an official Border Force dog, according to The Sun.
They should have tossed the illegal alien back into the channel.
Fake summer reading list exposes AI threat to journalism
The Chicago Sun-Times and Philadelphia Inquirer have been caught with egg on their faces after publishing a summer reading recommendation list that appeared to be full of Artificial Intelligence (AI) slop. The guide was full of both fake books and inauthentic authors, drawing much ridicule for both papers.

OTTAWA — Canadians have more trust in Prime Minister Mark Carney now than they did in former prime minister Justin Trudeau after he was first elected and during his last days in office, a new poll suggests.
The Proof Strategies CanTrust Index survey, conducted annually by The Logit Group, polled 1,250 Canadians between May 5 and 14.

Anand says she’ll swag finger at Israeli ambassador after IDF fired shots near Canadians
Foreign Affairs Minister Anita Anand says she’ll relay Canada’s “serious concerns” to Israel’s ambassador after members of the Israeli army fired shots near a diplomatic delegation, which included Canadians, in the West Bank on Wednesday.
In a social media post the new minister confirmed four Canadian personnel were part of a tour in the city of Jenin when members of the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) fired in their vicinity. Anand’s office later that two were Canadian and two were local staff.

Canada Had Largest Debt Increase Among G7 Countries Over Last Decade: Fraser Institute
Canada’s total government debt has grown substantially since 2014 and has outpaced nearly every other advanced country’s around the world, according to a new study from the Fraser Institute.
The study, “The Deterioration of Canada’s Finances Internationally” released May 15, compared Canada’s finances during the last 10 years to that of 40 other advanced countries internationally, including G7 countries. The authors found that Canada experienced one of the largest increases in government size over the last decade and now has one of the highest debt burdens of any advanced economy country.

The Guardian claims that getting in shape could turn you into a “right-wing jerk,” while TIME runs pieces on “the white supremacist origins of exercise.” MSNBC warns that during the pandemic, workout trends ended up leading to “extreme” ideologies.
