Biden’s foreign policy upended by Hamas attack

The scope of Hamas’s attack against Israel was unprecedented and the US response reflects that.

It already supplies its Middle East ally with $3.8bn (£3.1bn) of military aid every year.

And it has always backed Israel’s right to defend itself when conflicts with Hamas erupt, albeit intervening with ceasefire calls after a few days or weeks of Israeli air strikes.

But this Hamas offensive will trigger a wide-ranging Israeli campaign and could lead to an escalation in other parts of the region.

She buys all her groceries across the U.S. border — and finds big savings

With the average grocery bill rising despite slowing inflation, Canadian shoppers are doing whatever it takes to lower food costs, including, in the case of one B.C. mom, making a run for the U.S. border.

Brandi Dustin lives in Roosville, B.C., which is located just a 15-minute drive to a supermarket in Eureka, Mont.

Even with the weak Canadian dollar and the gas she spends crossing the border twice a week, Dustin says she saves about $300 a month buying all her food in the United States.

I’m surprised Justin hasn’t called her a white supremacist.

Bread and Circuses, Then and Now: America Mimics Rome’s Decline

What does the fall of Rome have to do with modern America?

For decades, I taught a course in European economic history that stressed the Industrial Revolution and its aftermath and spent a couple of lectures talking about the Roman Empire and other ancient civilizations. The Roman Empire lasted over 500 years (by some accounts, even longer) but ultimately declined and fell. Is America and its world leadership (rather than “empire”) undergoing a remarkably similar decline? Is history eerily repeating itself well over a millennium later?

Maher: ‘Sanctuary City Hypocrite‘ Dems Got Their Bluff Called

On Friday’s broadcast of HBO’s “Real Time,” host Bill Maher stated that Republicans who bused migrants to sanctuary cities “called the Democrats’ bluff about sanctuary cities,” and the Democrats “look like sanctuary city hypocrites” and “I understand a little, I told you so from the people on the border.”

American Despotism: Black Radical Activists vs. Law Enforcement

The struggle planted the seed for the politicization and law-breaking we see today.

Through the 1960s and early 1970s, black discontent grew. Although progress was made, the level of discontent was increasing. Black Americans put up with a lot when they thought there was no alternative to segregation and embedded discrimination. When they knew they could be jailed — or killed — for speaking out, there was an understandable reluctance to try to change things.

Racist NYC subway shooter Frank James sentenced to rot in prison for wounding 10 in terrorist attack

Subway shooter Frank James — who opened fire on a packed Brooklyn subway train, hitting 10 people and igniting terror underground in April 2022 — will spend the rest of his days behind bars, a federal judge ruled Thursday.

James, 64, was sentenced to life in prison by Brooklyn federal Judge William F. Kuntz for the bloody April 12, 2022, attack that seriously injured subway commuters and petrified the city.

Prosecutors had asked for James to get 10 concurrent sentences of life imprisonment for the “careful and prolonged planning” that went into the attack, according to court papers.

Eyewitness report a Mexican cartel island crawling with gang members … in Texas

In the early dawn’s orange glow, a Texas Rangers commander briefs a heavily armed invasion force.

They’re preparing to seize a remote, 170-acre Mexican cartel-controlled island in the middle of the Rio Grande River overlooked by sniper nests and potentially booby-trapped.

Some of the dozens of assembled men shift from one foot to another or reposition their M-4 rifles as they listen to their commanders’ instructions.

Biden criticized for waiving 26 laws in Texas to allow border wall construction

Joe Biden faced intense criticism from environmental advocates, political opponents and his fellow Democrats after the president’s administration waived 26 federal laws to allow border wall construction in south Texas, its first use of a sweeping executive power that was often employed under Donald Trump.

“A border wall is a 14th-century solution to a 21st-century problem,” the Democratic Texas congressman Henry Cuellar said. “It will not bolster border security in Starr county.

Donald Trump Followers Targeted by FBI as 2024 Election Nears

The federal government believes that the threat of violence and major civil disturbances around the 2024 U.S. presidential election is so great that it has quietly created a new category of extremists that it seeks to track and counter: Donald Trump’s army of MAGA followers.

The challenge for the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the primary federal agency charged with law enforcement, is to pursue and prevent what it calls domestic terrorism without direct reference to political parties or affiliations—even though the vast majority of its current “anti-government” investigations are of Trump supporters, according to classified data obtained by Newsweek.

The Iranian influence campaign went further than many realize

The evidence that Iranian officials ran an influence operation that penetrated the State and Defense departments is damning. Not only did Iranian American academics and think tankers meet with Iranian officials, but leaked emails suggest they also took direction from them. Not only financial gain motivates espionage; ideological solidarity motivated some of the most damaging spies in American history.

While the Biden administration seeks to downplay the scandal, more than 30 senators now demand the Pentagon suspend and review the security clearance of Ariane Tabatabai, one of the members of the so-called Iran Experts Initiative, now in a sensitive Pentagon position.

You can’t help but wonder how complicit Ottawa is in this.

Biden Iran envoy key member of Iranian government spy ring/influence operation

Well, this explains a lot.

The Obama and now Biden Iran policies have never made much sense to me.

Iran is the avowed enemy of our allies and partners in the Middle East region, but for some reason, the Obama and Biden Administrations have spent enormous efforts appeasing Iran at the same time that they have been increasingly hostile to countries that have allied themselves with us.

MK-ULTRA mind-control experiments: Quebec high court says U.S. has immunity in Canada

The United States government cannot be sued in Canada for its alleged role in infamous brainwashing experiments at a Montreal psychiatric hospital, Quebec’s Court of Appeal ruled this week.

The proposed class-action lawsuit is about the MK-ULTRA program — allegedly funded by the Canadian government and the CIA between the 1940s and 1960s at Montreal’s Allan Memorial Institute, which was affiliated with McGill University.
