US ex-ambassador sentenced for Cuban espionage

Former US diplomat Victor Manuel Rocha led a double life spanning decades. While working for the US government, he also served as a spy for Cuba.

Rocha was sentenced to 15 years in prison on Friday after pleading guilty to acting as an illegal foreign agent and will pay a $500,000 (€469,000) fine. He is also required as part of a deal with prosecutors to disclose details of his cooperation with Cuban intelligence.

The US Justice Department called it “one of the highest-reaching and longest-lasting infiltrations of the US government.”

‘Democracy’ Has a Peculiar Aftertaste

The American system of government is a federation of sovereign states that retain inherent powers not specifically delegated to the national government. It is a republic that separates discrete powers among coequal and competing branches of government — namely the Legislative, Executive, and Judicial. It is a representative democracy that empowers the people to vote into office those who presumably will best serve their interests. Most importantly, it is a constitutional system that severely limits government’s authority and proscribes government agents from infringing upon freedoms retained by the people.

FBI chief Chris Wray to warn of ‘coordinated attack’ on US just weeks after Moscow concert hall horror

FBI Director Christopher Wray will warn lawmakers later Thursday that there is a growing fear among law enforcement officials of a “coordinated attack” inside the US — weeks after an ISIS assault on a concert hall in Moscow killed 145 people and wounded hundreds more.

“Our most immediate concern has been that individuals or small groups will draw twisted inspiration from the events in the Middle East to carry out attacks here at home,” Wray will tell a House Appropriations subcommittee.

I might trust the Jihadis more than Wray.

Defining Jihadism

Recently, the Daily Wire revealed that an internal newsletter from the Office of the Director of National Intelligence featured an article arguing for “changing terminology related to counterterrorism,” because “certain phrases to identify international terrorism… are hurtful to Muslim-Americans.” One of the supposedly “problematic phrases” is the term “jihadist.” An alternative suggestion given in the newsletter to denote jihadists is the word khawarij.

How much influence does the US really have over Israel?

The pullout of the vast majority of the IDF’s troops from Gaza in recent days has raised questions about whether Israel’s military campaign is ending with a whimper.

Amid pressure from its most important ally and weapon supplier, the US, the operation in Rafah — where Hamas’s remaining battalions are located — has not yet begun. But based on the remarks made by Israel’s top generals and politicians, it appears as though it will go ahead. After IDF troops left Khan Younis on Sunday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared: “We are but a step away from victory.”

Islamic Dearborn, Michigan will decide America’s next president

Biden needs Michigan, desperately, and so he will do anything to satisfy Tlaib and her flock. For this man with no honor, no decency, all that counts is winning, whatever the cost.

Maybe all you need to know is that Dearborn was the birthplace of Henry Ford. This was where he maintained his home and business.

He was the most flagrant antisemite in American history. Throughout the 1930s. Nazi Towns sprung up across the. United States. You didn’t know? It is a fact.

Dearborn was one of those towns that marched for Hitler and hoisted the swastika.

Joe Biden: Netanyahu’s actions in Gaza are a ‘mistake’

US President Joe Biden blasted Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s “mistaken” Gaza policies as he called for a six to eight-week pause to the war in an interview he gave to the American-based Spanish language news station Univision Noticias.

Biden was asked if he thought that Netanyahu cared more for his own political survival than the Israeli people.

“I will tell you this. I think what he’s doing is a mistake. I don’t agree,” Biden said.

The American corporations stoking illegal immigration

They have intimate links with the refugee lobby

When the meatpacking giant, Tyson Foods, announced plans last month to shutter its pork plant in Perry, Iowa and lay-off all 1,200 employees, it brought rare attention to one of the most influential, less scrutinised, dynamics of America’s mass migration debate. That is, the role played by large, politically connected corporations seeking to blunt wage growth.

CBS, NBC Ignore ISIS-Inspired Terror Plot Targeting Idaho Christians

One would think the liberal broadcast networks would be eager to give President Biden a counterterrorism win during an election year, or at least praise the FBI for finally stopping an ISIS-inspired terrorist attack before it happened. But during Tuesday morning’s newscasts, CBS News and NBC News ignored the story of the FBI foiling a plot to target Christian parishioners in multiple Idaho churches last weekend.

Joe Biden Is Now Chasing The ‘Death To America’ Voter

It was Al-Quds Day last Friday. To celebrate the occasion, protesters in Dearborn, Michigan, chanted “Death to America” and “Death to Israel” while a speaker named Tarek Bazzi declared the United States — a place that’s afforded him the liberty to openly support rapists, murderers, and terrorists — one of the “rottenest countries” on the planet. “It’s the entire system that has to go,” he explained to cheers of, what I assume, were American citizens.

As Seth Mandel notes, there’s Charlottesville every other day in America, and barely anyone on the left cares. Most progressives, let’s face it, either tacitly or openly support these days of rage.

The truth about ‘white rural rage’

Progressives have run out of empathy

A good American progressive is meant to disapprove of disparaging political stereotypes. But that hasn’t stopped them gleefully embracing the caricature of the enraged rural American. You know the tropes; they’re the last ones you can utter in respectable conversation: “white trash”, “redneck”, “hillbilly”, all them ignorant belligerents in stark raving anger ready to storm the Capitol.
