If you’ve been wondering why America’s 250th feels so hollow, the Supreme Court’s June 30 ruling on birthright citizenship should provide ample clarity. If anyone, from anywhere in the world, can travel to America and give birth to an “American” citizen, then American citizenship is meaningless and based purely on the happenstance of birth.

Cuba on Monday suffered its third nationwide power outage since the start of the year, the state electricity company said.
The impoverished island was already struggling to keep the lights on before the US president, Donald Trump, imposed an oil blockade in January, which has depleted the already dwindling supply of fuel for Cuba’s power plants.
“There has been a total disconnection from the national electricity generation system,” the UNE power utility wrote on X, adding that it was investigating the causes.

Donald Trump’s tariffs are bringing jobs from Mexico back to the USA. Toyota is now moving more production for its Tacoma pickup truck from the Baja California (Mexico) location to San Antonio, Texas. This is a win for American workers.

Florida governor rebuked by MPs for ‘you’d be speaking German’ jibe
Ron DeSantis has been accused of “belittling” Britain’s war dead after claiming the country would be speaking German if it were not for the United States.
Ministers, senior MPs and peers criticised the Florida governor over a social media post that suggested the defeat of Nazi Germany in the Second World War was only achieved because of the US.
Mr DeSantis was described as a “cretin” after sharing an X post about the Old Ferry Boat Inn in Cambridgeshire, and using it to make a joke about American military might.

Somali ‘refugees’ across America recently celebrated Somalia’s ‘independence,’ leading some to wonder why they don’t simply go back to their own country that they claim to love so much.

Masked white nationalists descend on Washington DC
Hundreds of masked white supremacists descended on Washington DC ahead of July 4th celebrations on Saturday, marching through the city centre and riding on the city subway.
An estimated 400 members of a group called the Patriot Front met for a march in the US capital on the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence.
Dressed in khaki trousers and navy blue shirts, the marchers hid their faces behind white balaclavas, baseball caps and sunglasses.
