OREM, Utah (AP) — The sniper who assassinated Charlie Kirk is believed to have jumped off a roof and fled into a neighborhood after firing one shot and has not been identified, authorities said Thursday in disclosing they have recovered a high-powered, bolt-action rifle they believe was used in the attack and are reviewing video footage of the person they believe was responsible.
The FBI has released two photos of a person of interest in connection with the shooting as investigators appealed to the public for information. The photos show a person wearing a hat, sunglasses and a long-sleeve black shirt.

Nasa bans Chinese nationals from working on its space programmes
US space agency Nasa has blocked Chinese citizens with valid US visas from its facilities – a move that effectively bars them from working at one of the most respected space research centres.
Chinese nationals, who could only work at Nasa as contractors or students contributing to research, found out on 5 September that they had lost all access to Nasa’s systems and facilities, Bloomberg news reported, citing sources.
Nasa then confirmed this, saying Chinese nationals would be restricted from using the agency’s “facilities, materials and networks to ensure the security of our work”.

‘Steep decline’ continues: Canada-U.S. travel data down again in August
New preliminary data shows that trips between Canada and the United States are down once again in August, in what Statistics Canada notes is the seventh straight month of declining international travel.
Last month, 1.8 million U.S. residents entered Canada by automobile and just shy of 590,000 did so by air, down 4.5 and 3.6 per cent, respectively, from August 2024.
Canadian travellers, meanwhile, showed a “steep decline” in trips to the United States, with U.S. automobile travel down roughly 34 per cent and air travel down more than 25 per cent from 12 months prior.

The Unravelling Accelerates
Minutes before we went on air, Charlie Kirk, the founder of Turning Point USA, was shot on stage in Utah. A quarter-hour after the show ended, President Trump announced on Truth Social that Charlie was dead. As I write, the assassin has just been taken into custody.
Notwithstanding his meteoric rise, Charlie Kirk was still at the dawn of his brilliant career. As I said right at the end of the show, he was only seven at the time of 9/11. That was a rough guess on my part, but proved to be accurate: he died a month shy of his thirty-second birthday, leaving a three-year-old daughter and a one-year-old son who will grow up with no memories of their fearless father.

A rightwing influencer accompanied officials from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (Ice) in Chicago on Sunday as the agency ramps up arrests in the city. Ice agents arrested four people on the city’s south-west side.
Ben Bergquam, the rightwing internet personality, was with agents, filming and making content as well as getting into altercations with local residents along the way, according to a video the Guardian viewed on X. In the video, he appears to be in the car with Ice agents and nearby as they arrest people; later on he yells at a group of Chicagoans who are gathered to prevent Ice operations that they are “the enemy within”.

Anti-Islamic US biker gang members run security at deadly Gaza aid sites
The firm guarding sites where aid is distributed in Gaza has been using members of a US biker gang with a history of hostility to Islam to run its armed security, a BBC investigation has found.
BBC News has confirmed the identities of 10 members of the Infidels Motorcycle Club working in Gaza for UG Solutions – a private contractor providing security at Gaza Humanitarian Foundation sites, where hundreds of civilians seeking food have been killed in scenes of chaos and gunfire.
We can reveal that seven members of the gang are in senior positions overseeing sites at the controversial aid operation backed by Israel and US President Donald Trump.

Britain is now a classic anarchy-tyranny, where the catspaws of the ruling class are free to pillage and abuse while the full weight of the once legitimate government comes down on those who would protest or resist. Raise the flag of your own country? That’s a hate crime but fly high the pride and Palestinian banners.
