Rachel Notley has sought to distance herself from Jagmeet Singh. Here’s why

OTTAWA — It was perhaps inevitable that, moments into Thursday’s Alberta leaders’ debate, federal NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh would be dragged into the fast-paced sparring match.

For one thing, it’s a common trope in the United Conservative Party when attacking the Alberta NDP to suggest that Singh pulls leader Rachel Notley’s strings.

For another, Notley hasn’t been shy about distancing herself from the NDP’s leader in Ottawa, particularly on his stances on climate and energy policy.

Somehow I’m just not buying this.

Jason Wager, a spokesman for the NDP, said Wednesday that neither the party nor Ms. Jama endorse the tweet.

“Last night, the MPP for Hamilton Centre retweeted a tweet by an American academic Noura Erakat concerning the death of Khader Adnan and later un-retweeted it. The content of the tweet does not reflect the views of Ms. Jama or the Ontario NDP,” he said.

John Robson: Jagmeet Singh the fool on the hill

Is Jagmeet Singh a fool? It may not be our most important public policy question today, which would be something like “Is Canada’s Prime Minister a Chinese Communist pawn?” or “Is liberalism the ideology of Western suicide?” But it keeps coming up, most recently when the NDP voted with the Liberals to shut down a Parliamentary committee inquiry into CCP donations to the Trudeau Foundation. And it matters whether public events are driven primarily by cunning or folly.

Singh is a grifter nothing more.

Liberal-NDP coalition excludes the Anti-Woke Left

It has been just over one year since the Liberal-NDP coalition formed a confidence-and-supply agreement. CBC News says this agreement could be “a model for the future.”

But it’s clear this coalition has not been good for Canadians who don’t buy into a woke political agenda, including the “anti-woke left.”

Singh ‘not satisfied’ with confidence-and-supply agreement, says he’d do a better job as PM

NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh says he’s “not satisfied” with his party’s confidence-and-supply agreement with the Liberals — signed a year ago this week — because it’s shown him he could do a better job running the country than the current government.

“And so it’s led me to not be satisfied with the position I’m in,” he said. “I want to be the prime minister, but I’m proud of the work we’ve done.”

OTTAWA – The New Democrats say they are not willing to trigger a federal election over rising concerns about foreign interference in Canadian elections, and are instead continuing to push for a public inquiry on the issue.

Newly Independent MP Han Dong voted with opposition parties in favour of such an inquiry on Thursday, the day after he resigned from the Liberal caucus amid what he says are false allegations that he advised a Chinese diplomat on what the Trudeau government considered a high-priority file: the arbitrary and retaliatory detention of two Canadians in China.

None dare call it treason…

NDP not ‘ruling out’ making interference inquiry a must for continuing Liberal support

NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh says he is not “ruling out” making a public inquiry into foreign interference a condition for continuing the governance deal with the federal Liberals, but says that is not a decision he is making just yet.

NDP leader should be holding Trudeau to account

It would be kind to call federal NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh “two-faced.”

During daylight hours, Singh is the enthusiastic lickspittle of the Trudeau Liberals. “Yes, Mr. Trudeau. Whatever you say, Mr. Trudeau.”

But after dark, “Jag-meek” transforms into “Jag-gernaut.” After propping up the Liberal government all day, Singh opens up his Twitter app and spends his evening hours tearing the Libs new ones.
