Tim Walz, Democrats’ 2024 VP candidate, won’t run for a third term as Minnesota governor

ST PAUL, Minn. — Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, Democrats’ 2024 candidate for vice president, is ending his bid for a third term as governor less than four months after launching a reelection campaign.

Walz said in a statement Monday that he believes he would have won another term but decided “that I can’t give a political campaign my all” after what he described as an “extraordinarily difficult year for our state.”

The Somali fraud scandal is a turning point

I suspect that Somalis around the country – especially, but not exclusively, in Minneapolis – wish about now that they had spent more time studying the wit and wisdom of Gertrude Stein.

Stein, had she lived in our own day, might well have become commissioner of New York City’s Fire Department. She had the one qualification that Zohran Mamdani seems to deem essential to the post.

Sadly, that was not to be. But there is no denying that, on certain matters, Stein was a font of practical wisdom that remains as pertinent today as it was when she was pontificating in Paris a century ago. It is important, Stein warned those aspiring to be part of the avant garde, “to know how far to go when going too far.” This is true of all the arts. It is just as true of fraud as of painting, poetry, dance or music.

Republican claims of ‘terrorism’ leave everyone unsafe, Muslim leader of terrorist front group warns

The deputy director of the US’s biggest Muslim civil rights and advocacy group warns that Republican governors’ steps to declare his organization a “terrorist organization” won’t stop with the Muslim community.

“No governor should have the power to unilaterally declare a civil rights or advocacy group he disagrees with a terrorist organization, take punitive action against them, all in violation of due process and free speech,” Edward Ahmed Mitchell, the deputy director of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, told the Guardian this month. “If any governor can get away with abusing that kind of power, then no organization is safe.”

In November, the Texas governor Greg Abbott designated Cair and the Muslim Brotherhood, the century-old movement founded in Egypt and active through chapters overseas, “foreign terrorist and transnational criminal organizations”. The Florida governor Ron DeSantis issued a similar order in early December.

Inaugural ceremonies aren’t usually a forum for deep deliberation and rational discourse. But a new leader’s words are rarely disconnected from his underlying philosophy. Mamdani’s inaugural comments therefore give us an idea of what to expect: claiming to represent “all” New Yorkers, the new mayor will work quickly to push through decisions unpopular at best, and harmful at worst.

Somali Immigrant Welfare Scams Uncovered in Minnesota–and Sweden

More than one billion Swedish kronor (€92.4 million) in taxpayer funds intended for preschools and schools have been siphoned off through an Islamist-affiliated welfare fraud network in Sweden. A recent probe found that funds meant to support Sweden’s education system were diverted through a network of independent schools allegedly linked to radical Islamist activity.

The findings followed a police raid on an apartment in Gävle, north of Stockholm, where several individuals connected to a radical and violent Islamist extremist group were staying. Police were searching for Rabie Karam, described as “one of the main actors” in a network of schools accused of recruiting and spreading radical Islam.

Socialist Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) is much richer than when she entered Congress, and it’s more than just the $174,000-a-year congressional salary. She married her campaign strategist Tim Mynett after her campaign dumped an eye-popping $2.9 million into his consulting business during the 2020 election cycle.

When the “independent fact checkers” get involved, they sound like they’re defending the Democrats. An X post by Snopes.com declared: “A rumor circulating on social media claims Rep. Ilhan Omar’s net worth skyrocketed after she took office in 2019. We reviewed her financial disclosure reports to check the facts.”

David Lammy has agreed to pay an Islamist double-killer £7,500 in compensation and cover the £234,000 legal costs of his human rights claim.

Fuad Awale, who also held a prison officer hostage while serving a life sentence for shooting two men in the head in 2011, said he suffered “severe depression” when he was denied contact with other inmates.

Britain should bring Shamima Begum home to face justice

Shamima Begum. A name that needs no introduction. A face etched into our collective consciousness. And a fate that stains our national conscience – which is why a new intervention by the European Court of Human Rights is to be welcomed.

Less welcome is the news that Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood has pledged to fight any attempt by Begum to return home. I say home because whatever showboating politicians claim, Begum is and always will be British.

The ECHR is disputing the legality of the vengeful treatment meted out to her in 2019 by the then Home Secretary Sajid Javid, who revoked her citizenship. And so it should.

Cabinet advisor praised pro-Palestine researcher who called Canada a ‘racist settler state’

A federal cabinet advisor personally approved a taxpayer-funded research assignment on pro-Palestine reports by a York University scholar who has publicly described Canada as a “racist settler colonial state,” according to Access To Information records.

Emails show Amira Elghawaby, now the government’s Special Representative on Combating Islamophobia, thanked researcher Salmaan Khan for his work, calling it “critical.”

Canada can no longer ignore its violent jihadist extremism problem

Recent arrests in the Greater Toronto Area of Waleed Khan, Osman Azizov, and Fahad Sadaat lay bare a disturbing truth that Canadians can no longer ignore: violent jihadist extremism is being cultivated and operationalized here.

What began as two armed attempts to abduct women from public streets in Toronto and Mississauga escalated into one of the most serious terrorism and hate-crime cases in recent memory. The three men now face dozens of charges involving firearms offences, hostage-taking conspiracies and sexual assault with weapons. Police said that the alleged criminals targeted women and members of the Jewish community and that the alleged crimes were motivated by antisemitism.

No country that appoints the likes of Amira Elghawaby as its Islamophobia Tsar can ever be considered “serious about jihad”.

In fact the Liberal Party is a Jihad enabler.

Remigration of all Islamists is the best choice.
