Why are teachers so obsessed with the ‘far right’?

Much has been written in recent years, and even recent days, about the threat posed to the mental wellbeing of children by malign external forces, whether it be X generating nude images of women, the misogyny spread by influencers such as Andrew Tate, or the welter of ‘misinformation’ available online. But a story at the weekend reminds us of one of the most formidable actors in this department, one that continues to warp and taint young minds: our education system.

A state-funded computer game, developed with government backing by councils in East Yorkshire, reminds teenagers they risk being referred to a counter-terrorism programme if they question mass migration. In Pathways, an interactive game designed for 11- to 18-year-old pupils and funded by Prevent, the Home Office programme designed for tackling extremism, players are directed to help their in-game characters – a white teenage boy or girl – on how to avoid being reported for ‘extreme Right-wing ideology’. Players discover the consequences of ‘engaging directly’ with posts which talk about ‘the need to take back control of our country’ and ‘the erosion of British values.’ The game also comes with material for teachers, who are urged to use the resource to ‘demonstrate the local threat picture of extreme Right-wing activities specifically.’

Yes, Somali Immigrants Commit More Crime Than Natives

Since the news of Minnesota’s sprawling Somali-linked fraud cases went national, debate over immigrant crime has flared once again. President Trump has dispatched federal agents to the Twin Cities to crack down on illegal immigrants. But Trump is overreacting, critics contend: the Somali immigrant population, they claim, does not have particularly high crime rates.

Alex Nowrasteh of the Cato Institute, for instance, set off considerable debate on X by posting a chart showing that Somali-born immigrants have, if anything, slightly lower incarceration rates than native-born Americans. Among those aged 18 to 54 included in the 2023 American Community Survey (ACS), 1,170 of every 100,000 people born in Somalia were incarcerated, versus 1,221 for the native-born.

Slavery is condoned in Islam. Muhammad himself bought, sold, and owned slaves. And Muhammad was the Perfect Man (al-insan al-kamil) and Model of Conduct (uswa hasana) so that his own practice made slavery licit for all the Muslims who follow his example. There never was a Muslim William Wilberforce. The Arab trade in black Africans began in the first century of Islam, centuries earlier than the Atlantic slave trade of the Europeans. The Royal Navy stamped out the Arab slave trade in Africa. Slavery in Muslim countries continued after the trade itself was banned, and finally ended, under Western pressure, very late. Slavery was banned in Saudi Arabia 1962; in Yemen it was banned in stages between 1962 and 1967. In Oman, it was banned in 1970.

When sanctuaries change hands, civilizations speak

Churches turned into mosques are the proof of the Western takeover by Islam. No clangor, no titanic clash. Just doors that close for one community and open for another.

When a year ago I walked out of the former basilica of Hagia Sophia in Istanbul, reconverted into a mosque by Erdogan, I said to one of my children-old enough to begin understanding the world we live in and the one that awaits him: “You’ll see, they will do the same in the West”.

When sanctuaries change hands, civilizations speak. The transformation is architectural, but the message is cultural: a testimony to what one society has abandoned and what another is willing to claim, sealing the decline of a civilization that illuminated the world for centuries.

Tulsi Gabbard, Director of Intelligence in the Trump administration, is right: “Their goal is not only the Islamization of Australia, but of the entire world, including the United States. It is probably too late for Europe, and perhaps also for Australia. It is not too late for the United States of America. But soon it will be.”

Nick Shirley’s video tour of 10 Somali daycare sites in the Twin Cities has drawn attention yet again to the massive public programs fraud committed by an almost exclusive cast of Somali Minnesotans. Shirley may have made some mistakes, but he seems to be on to something.

Shirley’s video raises an alarm about the administration of the Child Care Assistance Program by Minnesota’s Department of Human Services. In 2019, a devastating report by Minnesota’s nonpartisan Office of Legislative Auditor investigated a whistleblower’s claim that the program was riddled with fraud to the tune of $100 million. Legislative Auditor James Nobles limited his findings of fraud to amounts established in criminal convictions—$5 to $6 million at the time. However, Nobles called out the program for lax oversight and laughably inadequate controls. As he stated in a column last week, the department’s permissive approach “made it easy for fraudsters to steal.”
