Stop criticizing Quebec’s ban on religious symbols, Erin O’Toole warns Conservative MPs in tense meeting

OTTAWA – Erin O’Toole has told Conservative MPs to stop speaking out publicly against Quebec’s Bill 21 and raise concerns about it at party caucus meetings – or not at all.

The warning from the Tory leader and his closest allies came during a tense caucus meeting this week in which some MPs criticized O’Toole for refusing to categorically condemn a teacher’s withdrawal of a classroom in Quebec because she wears a hijab.

Mohammedan with Canadian passport pleads guilty in U.S. court for funding ISIS activities

VANCOUVER — A Canadian citizen has pleaded guilty in a U.S. federal court on Friday for funding ISIS militants in Syria.

In a news release, the U.S. Department of Justice says former Edmonton resident Abdullahi Ahmed Abdullahi admitted to providing material support for individuals involved in ISIS terrorist activities and has agreed to a sentence of 20 years in prison.

Critics Slam ‘Anti-Islamophobia’ Bill

The anti-Islamophobia bill passed in the House Tuesday was introduced by a representative with a history of anti-Semitic comments and has the potential to chill free speech, critics told the Daily Caller News Foundation.

“This legislation is a nightmare for Muslims and non-Muslims alike— for all Americans,” M. Zuhdi Jasser, president of the American Islamic Forum for Democracy told the DCNF. The bill, he argued in an article for the Center for Security Policy, creates a space in U.S. bureaucracy which exists exclusively to attack our allies with charges of anti-Muslim bigotry when they criticize Islamist regimes.

France moves to shut mosque with preacher ‘targeting Christians, homosexuals, Jews’

PARIS — France’s interior minister said on Tuesday he had launched a procedure to close a mosque for up to six months because of the radical nature of its imam’s preaching.

Gerald Darmanin told the Cnews TV channel he had “triggered” the process of shutting the mosque in Beauvais, a town of 50,000 some 100 kilometers (62 miles) north of Paris, because of “unacceptable” preaching.

This could never happen in Canada where Islam is miraculously pacified by our magic tree sap or it may have something to do with the fact authorities do not monitor mosques here. Hard to say.

A few weeks ago, a Sri Lankan factory worker was lynched by a mob in Sialkot, a city in Pakistan, before his corpse was left to burn in the street. He had been accused of blasphemy for removing posters that bore prayers eulogising Muhammad. Hundreds gathered to participate in the barbarity, while the local authorities stood by. Videos of the man’s body being torched circulated widely on social media.

This was Pakistan’s third blasphemy-related incident in just seven days.

Islamist front group CAIR fires Ohio leader for working with ‘anti-Muslim group’ Investigative Project on Terrorism

An Ohio chapter of the nation’s largest Muslim civil liberties and advocacy organization fires its leader, Romin Iqbal, for ethical and professional breaches that it says include a years-long secret association with an anti-Muslim group.

The probe found “conclusive evidence that Iqbal had spent years recording CAIR network meetings and passing information regarding CAIR’s national advocacy work to a known anti-Muslim hate group,” a release says.

During a briefing, spokesperson Whitney Siddiqi identifies the group as the Investigative Project on Terrorism, led by Steve Emerson.

Islamic extremists would welcome the election of Eric Zemmour

… At the same time that Zemmour was in Armenia news emerged in France of an incident last Wednesday in Nanterre, just west of Paris. According to Le Figaro 30 Catholic worshippers were surrounded by a mob as they took part in a torchlight procession to celebrate the Immaculate Conception. Insults were hurled, the Catholics were reportedly told ‘this is Allah’s territory’ and there were threats to ‘slit your throats in the name of the Koran’.

Zemmour responded to the news with a tweet which warned that ‘Christians from the East to the West are in grave danger.’ There was also a declaration from the Minister of the Interior, Gérald Darmanin, in which he expressed his outrage, and with good reason. The most recent government figures revealed that in 2019 there were 1,052 incidents in France classified as anti-Christian, compared to 657 anti-Semitic and 154 anti-Muslim incidents.

Accused Islamic State soldier from Dearborn loses evidence fight against feds

A federal judge Monday refused to suppress texts and statements made to federal agents by an accused Islamic State fighter from Dearborn captured on a Syrian battlefield three years ago, dealing a setback to the defense of a rare foreign fighter brought back to America to face charges.

Texts Ibraheem Musaibli, 31, exchanged with an FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force officer and comments the Dearborn man said while being flown back to the United States aboard a customized C-17 military cargo plane were made voluntarily, U.S. District Judge David Lawson wrote in a federal court filing. Musaibli talked to the officer after being advised of his rights, the judge added.

Salman Abedi punching a female student after a row about her wearing a short skirt could have been a red flag to his radicalisation, an inquiry has heard.

Abedi, who killed 22 people in the Manchester Arena bombing, hit the girl in the face at Manchester College.

The inquiry heard there was a pattern of those convicted of Islamist extremist offences also having a history of violence towards women.

Dr Matthew Wilkinson said Abedi had a “very bad attitude towards women”.

Inger Stoejberg: Jail for Danish ex-minister for asylum separations

A former Danish immigration minister has been found guilty of illegally separating young asylum-seeking couples in a landmark impeachment trial.

Judges ruled Inger Stoejberg’s decision in 2016 to separate couples was unlawful and jailed her for 60 days.

Ms Stoejberg said she was very surprised by the verdict as the policy was designed to combat child marriage.

The case was Denmark’s first impeachment trial in three decades and only the sixth in its history.
