18-year-old Sheldon Tracy-Stewart accused of firing gun at U.S. consulate in Toronto arrested

…Const. Marc Pinizzotto was fatally shot at a fourth-floor apartment building on Martha Eaton Way on Thursday, as officers carried out an investigation into multiple shootings, including one at the consulate in March.

Police said 19-year-old Nicholas Bennett, who was shot multiple times in the exchange of gunfire and remains in hospital, faces a first-degree murder charge. A court document shows he has also been charged with firearm-related offences in relation to alleged incidents in March.

Police also arrested and charged another suspect in the consulate shooting on Thursday, a court document shows. Sheldon Tracy-Stewart, 18, is accused of firing a gun at the consulate and committing a violent attack on the official premises of an internationally protected person that was likely to endanger that person’s life or liberty, the document shows.

Gatineau muslim told she can’t wear hijab at after-school event: parent committee

A Gatineau school board committee says it’s worried parents will be discouraged from volunteering after a local mother was reportedly told by her child’s elementary school that, due to one of the province’s secularism laws, she would have to remove her hijab if she wants to take part in an after-school event this fall.

“We already have a lot of trouble recruiting in general, so it’s a shame,” said Simon Lajoie, president of the parent committee of the board in question, the Centre de services scolaire des Portages-de-l’Outaouais (CSSPO).

Iraqi asylum seeker who raped girls as young as 12 after plying them with drink and drugs at mini-mart before raping them is jailed for 29 years

An asylum seeker who raped seven schoolgirls after he groomed them with drinks and drugs has been jailed for 29 years.

Bawan Harwe, 28, messaged the girls, aged between 12 and 16, under a fake name, earning their trust before raping and abusing them.

The Iraqi national targeted his underage victims because of their age, and lured them to his flat by offering money and e-cigarettes before plying them with alcohol and drugs.

When Governments Stop Listening, Societies Start Burning

Belfast, Northern Ireland, was engulfed in violence this week, following the alleged ‘attempted beheading’ of a local man by a Sudanese asylum seeker. Vehicles burned, roads were blocked with flaming bins, and terrified families were led from their homes under police protection. These disturbances follow civil disorder in Southampton, England, provoked by the murder of 18-year-old Henry Nowak by Sikh man Vickrum Digwa, and the release of truly scandalous police bodycam footage revealing despicable treatment by the cops of a clearly dying Henry.

19-year-old Nicholas Bennett to be charged after Toronto police officer shot in investigation tied to U.S. consulate shooting

The police watchdog is investigating the circumstances that led to the shooting and officer’s death.

“No words can capture the impact on Marc’s family, who expected him to come home today,” Demkiw said. “We are doing everything we can to support them at this difficult time.”

A procession was held from Sunnybrook to the chief coroner’s office at 1 p.m., according to a news release by Toronto police.

Toronto group calls to release alleged Iran proxy who coordinated waves of attacks on Jewish sites

A Toronto activist group called for the US to release the Iranian regime proxy group commander who allegedly helped orchestrate attacks on Jewish, Israeli, and dissident sites and individuals across Europe and North America in the name of Harakat Ashab al-Yamin al-Islamia (HAYI), in a Thursday statement.

Al-Ahrar Palestinian Prisoner Support called for the immediate release of Kataib Hezbollah commander Mohammad Baqer Saad Dawood Al-Saadi, who had been extradited and charged by the US Department of Justice on May 15 for various terrorism offenses related to 18 attacks.

The Canada-based organization called on activists and organizations to act against the “violent move” by the US, rejecting his criminalization and describing his attacks as legitimate wartime actions.

Toronto police officer’s murder related to US Consulate shooting investigation

…. Demkiw said the investigation that officers were executing a search warrant for when Pinizzotto was “tragically killed” was related to “a number of shootings,” including the one at the U.S. consulate in March.

There were “several” search warrants executed in the city on Thursday morning.

Demkiw said a suspect, 19-year-old Zara Jabbi, is still “outstanding.” Demkiw would not say if Jabbi is related to Pinizzotto’s fatal shooting.

Demkiw said Jabbi is considered to be armed and dangerous.

Police didn’t provide any other details.

Another suspect is in custody in hospital, Demkiw added, receiving emergency care.

Now, a Boy Victim in Norway

In recent days, while Britons have been in an uproar over the December 3 butchery of 18-year-old Henry Nowak in Southampton by a knife-wielding Sikh, who was convicted of the murder on May 28, many Norwegians have been worked up over a similar crime. Late on the evening of May 17 – which in Norway is Constitution Day, a festive occasion celebrated around the country with parades and parties – an 18-year old boy, as yet unnamed by authorities, was brutally beaten by four individuals, strangers to him, who were aged between 15 and 17. Unlike Henry Nowak, the victim in Bergen survived the assault, which was completely unprovoked. At the time of the incident, he was dressed in a one-piece blue outfit that identified him as a “russ,” a person who is about to graduate, or who has just graduated, from secondary school. By all accounts he did nothing to provoke the attack, which was filmed by one of two witnesses who then shared the video on social media.
