Unsealed documents reveal past of Edmonton terror convict
An Edmonton gas station employee convicted in the U.K. of a terrorism offence came to the attention of the RCMP after returning to Canada from Lebanon in 2017, records obtained by Global News reveal.
The unsealed court documents show that Khaled Hussein, sentenced to five years last week for joining extremist group Al-Muhajiroun in 2020, was born in Alberta but spent much of his life in Lebanon’s Bekaa Valley.
At age seven, he moved with his family to Lebanon to learn Arabic and because “things were difficult for Muslims in Edmonton” following the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, his mother wrote in a witness statement.
OTTAWA – Public Safety Minister Dominic LeBlanc says federal departments are reviewing how two men with suspected links to a terrorist group abroad were allowed into Canada.
Ahmed Fouad Mostafa Eldidi, 62, and his son, Mostafa Eldidi, 26, were arrested in Richmond Hill, Ont., last week and face nine different terrorism charges, including conspiracy to commit murder on behalf of the terror group Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant.

Two men reported to have links to Islamic State have been arrested on suspicion of plotting a terrorist attack on a Taylor Swift concert in Vienna.
A major police operation took place in Ternitz, south of the Austrian capital, on Wednesday, with residents evacuated and roads closed, according to local media.
The Austrian newspaper Kronen Zeitung reported that a 19-year-old man from the town was arrested at his parents’ house on suspicion of terrorism. Another suspect was arrested in Vienna before the American pop star’s three sold-out shows there, due to start on Thursday.

Canada’s systemic reluctance to tackle extremist ideology is coming home to roost. Two weeks ago, Edmonton gas station employee Khaled Hussein was convicted on multiple charges under Britain’s Terrorism Act alongside radical British preacher Anjem Choudary. Last week, the RCMP announced the arrest of a father and son, Ahmed Fouad Mostafa Eldidi and Mostafa Eldidi in Richmond Hill, Ont. on charges that include conspiracy to commit murder for the benefit or at the direction of ISIS.
… Seventy-eight per cent of 30,746 immigration investigations in 2022-23 ended with CBSA’s determination that the individual in question was “inadmissible” to Canada. There are many reasons why you might be found “inadmissible,” including security concerns, human rights violations, criminal record, misrepresentation, health issues, a loss of refugee status, etc. That’s not a one-off: CBSA inadmissibility findings were even higher in 2021 and 2022.
If the vast majority of CBSA investigations turn up troubling information, it’s frightening to think our immigration screeners missed a publicly available ISIS execution video where Ahmed Eldidi allegedly dismembered “a spy” in Western Iraq prior to being granted Canadian citizenship. Was this a case of bad luck, underfunding, or inadequate training at our embassy in Egypt?

Shamima Begum will never be allowed to return to the UK after the Supreme Court refused to hear her appeal against the removal of her British citizenship.
On Wednesday, justices at the UK’s highest court said Ms Begum could not appeal again after she lost a Court of Appeal bid in February.
Last year, Ms Begum lost her appeal against the decision to revoke her citizenship on national security grounds at the Special Immigration Appeals Commission (SIAC), after she was found in a Syrian refugee camp following her travel to the country as a 15-year-old in 2015.

Hamas supporters citing “300 Days of Rage” since the October 7 terror attacks on Israel will be marching to Parliament Hill in Ottawa August 10 demanding what they call “justice” for terrorists.
The federal Liberal government has a lot of policy failures to answer for: a sluggish economy, ballooning debt and numerous foreign policy fiascoes. But its biggest failure is on the most crucial of files: immigration.
Immigration is crucial because Canada depends on newcomers to fuel both population and economic growth: with a fertility rate of 1.33 children per woman, we are simply not replacing ourselves. Yet improperly managed immigration contributes to a host of social problems, including our current housing shortage and, even more disturbingly, the security of the country itself.
Despite promises to control immigration, Britain is now a different nation than it was when the Tories took power in 2010.
Britain is burning. Riots and spasms of ethnic violence have engulfed towns and cities across England and Northern Ireland, spurred on by anti-immigration protests, and — subsequently — the mobilization of Muslim militias to counter the primarily white British perpetrators.
As the protests turned violent in more than a dozen towns and cities — “injuring dozens of police officers, looting businesses, targeting mosques and setting fires outside a hotel that housed asylum seekers,” the New York Times reported — videos online (largely ignored by the legacy media) began to emerge of armed African and Arab gangs, often masked and clothed in all-black, prowling the streets, beating protestors (often viciously), attacking pubs, fighting police, chanting “Allahu Akbar,” and even appearing to target lone white Britons at random.

What the reaction to Britain’s immigration protests tell us about the elite class

This is the quote that came to mind as I watched Prime Minister Keir Starmer and his Labour government struggle to respond to protests that erupted after three girls were brutally murdered by the son of Rwandan migrants.
