On October 7, 2023, Hamas viciously attacked the nation of Israel. Their attacks targeted some military bases, apparently, but also involved the senseless slaughter of innocent young people at a music festival and men, women, and children at kibbutzes.

Not all of them made it through unscathed, though. While the military fought back, as one would expect, a lot of civilian Israelis also used guns to fight back.

Greta Thunberg recently emerged from the cultural wilderness to board a boat destined for Gaza. Clutching a microphone, tears running down her face, she announced that she was there to raise “international awareness”. Cameras clicked, the Palestinian flag fluttered, and the sea swallowed the horizon. To some, it was courage. To others, a shameless stunt. But for anyone who’s been watching closely, this was the final contortion of dissent into something pre-packaged and painfully self-serving.

The Israeli prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, has admitted arming clans in Gaza that he says are opposed to Hamas, after allegations that members of these criminal gangs looted humanitarian aid and have ties to jihadist groups.

The admission came after Israeli media reports quoted defence sources as saying Netanyahu had authorised giving weapons to a clan reportedly led by a man known as Yasser Abu Shabab, a Rafah resident from a Bedouin family, known locally for his involvement in criminal activity. Israel allegedly provided Abu Shabab’s group, which calls itself the “Anti-Terror Service”, with Kalashnikov assault rifles, including weapons seized from Hamas.

“On the advice of security officials, we activated clans in Gaza that oppose Hamas. What’s wrong with that?” Netanyahu said in a short video he posted on social media. “It only saves the lives of Israeli solders, and publicising this only benefits Hamas.”

History repeats. Unfortunately.

(JNS) It was no coincidence that on the same day that much of the mainstream media swallowed Hamas lies about Israelis slaughtering people in the Gaza Strip, that another violent antisemitic attack occurred in the United States. What happened in Boulder, Colo., on June 1, when an Egyptian immigrant attempted to incinerate a group of American Jews, many of them elderly, who were walking in a public space on behalf of the remaining Israeli hostages being held by Hamas, was a horrifying crime.

My guess – Nope.

The leaders of the Iran-backed Hamas terror group do not seem to be in a rush to end the war with Israel: after all, they and their family members are not living in the Gaza Strip, which has been turned into a war zone over the past 20 months.

Hamas’s political leaders, billionaires funded by Iran’s mullahs and the rulers of Qatar, live in several Arab and Islamic countries, including Qatar, Turkey, Algeria and Lebanon. They and their family members lead luxurious lives in these countries and do not have to worry about lack of food or medicine.

Israel warned Wednesday that it is “prepared” to “act accordingly” to stop Greta Thunberg’s so-called Freedom Flotilla Coalition from reaching Gaza — as the eco-activist frolicked and filmed smiling social media content on the Mediterranean Sea.

Thunberg, 22, set sail Sunday to bring milk and protein bars to Gaza — with the Swedish campaigner posting images of her glamming it up onboard in a keffiyeh and holding a Palestinian flag.

Bored with saving the planet, Greta Thunberg now wants to save Gaza. Yes, Sweden’s prophetess of doom has a new moral crusade.

It’s no longer the coming heat death of the Earth that keeps her up at night – it’s Israel’s “live-streamed genocide” in Gaza, as she calls it.

She and a gaggle of self-righteous pals have set sail for that benighted strip of land. They departed Sicily yesterday, their boat a riot of keffiyehs and Palestine flags. They hope to dock in Gaza in a week’s time.

No tantrums. No shaky voice. No Greta. Just Hamas beating the hell out of a Gazan – and the poster girl for fake causes is silent, again.

The RCMP says it is investigating potential war crimes related to the Israel-Hamas conflict.

Very few details of the RCMP’s probe into what it called the “Israel-Hamas armed conflict” are known, with the police service confirming the investigation to the Star on Monday, but refusing to answer questions about its scope.

The RCMP launched the investigation quietly in early 2024. The lack of announcement stands in stark contrast to the agency’s probe into alleged war crimes in Ukraine, which has involved a hotline and dedicated webpage, media interviews, online advertising, signs erected at airports and questionnaires distributed in an attempt to collect witness testimony from fleeing Ukrainians.

Will the findings ever see the light of day?

A Republican senator has been criticised for mocking the climate activist Greta Thunberg after she and others set sail with aid to Gaza.

“Hope Greta and her friends can swim!” Lindsey Graham wrote in a message on X. The post, which accompanied a news report on the flotilla departing from the port of Catania, Sicily, with “symbolic aid” for Gaza, was condemned by social media users and activists. Liam Cunningham, who played Davos Seaworth in Game of Thrones, is also on board.
