Greta Thunberg has been arrested in central London at a demonstration in support of Palestine Action.

The Prisoners for Palestine protest group confirmed the climate activist had been arrested at a protest in support of the Palestine Action members on hunger strike in prison.

“It’s been an incredibly difficult two years,” says Phil Rosenberg, president of the Board of Deputies of British Jews. “I think our Jewish identity is being worn far more heavily these days given the pain of it all.”

Conflict in the Middle East has, he says, had a profound impact on British Jewish society.

“The attacks of 7 October were felt very personally, not least because there were British Jews who were killed in the initial onslaught and people with British connections held hostage.

“And in the war that followed, the devastation in Gaza was very painful to watch. Then there was the vitriol that surrounded the whole conflict, and the massive rise in antisemitism culminating in deadly attacks.”

Imagine if Jews across Canada were marching into Muslim neighbourhoods blaming them for the thousands of deaths caused by Hamas and other Islamist terrorist groups in Israel and around the world.

Imagine if our excuse was that we had nothing against Muslims, only Muslims who are terrorists.

Foreign journalists in Israel are upset. Israel has prevented them from entering the Gaza Strip since the beginning of the war, which began with the Hamas-led invasion of Israel on October 7, 2023. A spokesman for the Foreign Press Association in Israel recently urged authorities to “lift restrictions without delay, allowing all journalists to work securely and without fear or hesitation” in the Gaza Strip.

Before the war, the journalists now complaining that Israel is not allowing them to enter Gaza were able to visit there anytime they liked.

Activists first to be detained under new police crackdown on such slogans

A pair of protesters who called for an “intifada” were arrested at a pro-Palestine protest on Wednesday evening.

The two demonstrators were the first to be detained after two of the country’s top police officers announced a crackdown on such chants after the Bondi Beach massacre.

They were arrested at a Palestine Coalition demonstration in central London along with another protester who attempted to obstruct their arrests.

It is time to confront one of the most dangerous illusions of our time: the belief that an International Stabilization Force for Gaza can bring order, reconstruction, or peace without dismantling Hamas. A force that enters Gaza while Hamas remains armed will merely stabilize Hamas itself. It will become, in practice, an International Stabilization Force for Hamas, a shield that protects the very organization that plunged Gaza into tragedy.

So long as there is Islam the world will not know peace.

Toronto police are investigating the theft of about 20 mezuzahs, or Jewish prayer scrolls, reported stolen from the doorways of apartments in a North York building, as a possible hate crime.

On Sunday morning at around 10:30 a.m., Toronto police received a call for a theft in the Bathurst Street and Steeles Avenue West area, according to a news release Monday morning.
