A third Jewish charity has lost its charitable status in a move its director says was driven by “outside complaints” and not any wrongdoing or misconduct.
Magen Herut Canada Charitable Foundation, a tiny volunteer-run organization, became the latest target of anti-Israel activists after sending volunteers to patrol near anti-Israel encampments at the University of Toronto last year.
South Africa has said it does not want to receive any more chartered flights carrying Palestinians, days after the controversial arrival of 153 passengers from Gaza in the country.
Many aspects of their arrival remain unclear and disputed.
The flight was part of “a clear agenda to cleanse Palestinians out of Gaza and the West Bank”, Foreign Minister Ronald Lamola said on Monday.

Recent news items reported that Israel is being pressured to allow 200 hundred Hamas terrorist trapped in an underground tunnel in Israeli-controlled Gaza to have free passage to the Hamas side of the ceasefire line. This is not a joke. It is serious, deadly serious.

A Toronto-based advocacy group has filed a legal challenge seeking to prevent the planned raising of the “State of Palestine” flag at Toronto City Hall later this month, arguing that the event violates city policy and poses potential risks to public safety.
The Tafsik Organization, which describes itself as a pro-Israel group focused on combating antisemitism and advancing Jewish community interests, filed an application with the Ontario Superior Court of Justice for an injunction ahead of the flag-raising ceremony scheduled for November 17.
Did Hamas lie to US President Donald J. Trump when it said that it had accepted his 20-point plan for ending its war against Israel in the Gaza Strip? Or is the terror group simply trying to buy time to reassert control over the Gaza Strip and prepare for more terror attacks against Israel? Yes and yes. Hamas lied. Since the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip went into effect in early October, Hamas officials have repeatedly emphasized that they did not accept all the points mentioned in the Trump plan.
After two years of barraging social media with lies about a famine in Gaza, Hamas propaganda channels are now trying to cover up their obesity by claiming that Israel is making them fat.
One recent Hamas media story clamored that “they’re forcing us to gain weight”, and objected that supermarkets have “shelves overflowing with chocolate, soft drinks, and cigarettes”, along with unhealthy “flour and various types of cheese used in sweets and pizza, in addition to sugar and flour derivatives used in confectionery production.”
Israel’s parliament has passed the first reading of a bill proposing the death penalty for those it deems to be terrorists acting against the state – a requirement which means it is likely to be used only against Palestinians convicted of deadly attacks on Israelis.
The bill – which has been condemned by the Palestinian Authority and human rights groups – was backed in the 120-seat Knesset by 39 votes to 16.
Far-right National Security Minister, Itamar Ben-Gvir – whose Jewish Power party brought the vote – celebrated late on Monday by handing out sweets.
“After the law is finally passed – terrorists will only be released to hell,” he said.

The event, “Triggered: From Combat to Campus,” was part of a peaceful speaking tour featuring Israel Defence Forces reservists sharing firsthand stories from October 7 and beyond. The name turned out to be ironic, as the people who reacted to the event were “triggered,” not by the truth of October 7 and Hamas’s terror, but by Israel defending itself.

Toronto’s institutional tolerance of anti-Israel activism is putting the city’s Jewish population at risk, according to a prominent international advocate.

Toronto city hall will fly the Palestinian flag for the first time next Monday to commemorate State of Palestine Independence Day, a gesture long sought by advocates that the city says it has now agreed to because Canada recognized Palestine in September.
City hall hoists several dozen flags a year. In 2024, it raised more than 60. Most were national flags but about a third were for sports teams or various causes, including the End Polio Now Flag, the Black Liberation Flag and the Period Purse Flag on Menstrual Health Day in May.
