University of Toronto law professor Peter Biro has resigned his fellowship from Massey College after he says the institution wanted an “advisory committee” to vet an antisemitism conference he was organizing.
“A good portion of Canadian society is utterly oblivious to the fact that our current age represents the next great transmutation of jew-hatred in human history,” Biro wrote in his resignation letter dated May 31. “That only underscores the critical importance of this conference.”
This week, while spring cleaning, I opened a drawer and found an old copy of the satirical French magazine, Charlie Hebdo.
Not an ordinary issue, but the edition published one week after the magazine was targeted by a violent terrorist attack, in which 12 people were murdered and 11 others were injured. The cover defiantly showed a tearful Muhammad holding a sign reading “Je suis Charlie” (I am Charlie).
Toronto Police Chief Myron Demkiw has laid down the law to anybody thinking about disrupting Sunday’s Walk with Israel.
“You are going to see a very substantial police presence and police response,” the chief told Newstalk 1010’s John Moore on Friday morning just hours before his Deputy Chief Frank Barredo was set to hold a briefing about the plan.

A raging woman spewing antisemitic hate targeted a Jewish rider on a Big Apple subway Sunday, shouting in the packed train car “Jews are eating kids,” according to the victim and shocking video.
The suspect was shouting her furious rhetoric against Jewish people on a C train around 2:15 p.m., the victim, a 23-year-old Upper West Side woman, told The Post.
"It's okay for her to eat kids, but I can't choke her down?"
This is how blood libel becomes violence against Jews. People genuinely feel that attacking Jews is not just their right, but righteous.

Canada has an antisemitism problem, but listening to our politicians, government agencies and some in the media, it’s easy to get the impression that no one really knows where the hatred is coming from or who is committing attacks against Jews.
In his much-discussed speech Monday at a Toronto synagogue, Prime Minister Mark Carney called out Jew-hate as a “crisis” that is testing the very “nature” of our country. He tacitly admitted that some immigrants are bringing old-world hatreds with them when he said, “When you come to Canada, you bring your faith, your tradition, your language, your story. You leave behind your wars and your animosities.”
Islamic extremism is enthusiastically supported by our so called “elites” in government, the academy, the justice system, the media, policing and unions.
I won’t even hazard a guess on how much our political class spends on KY Jelly per Islamist vote.

In response to rising antisemitism in Canada, Prime Minister Mark Carney announced a new racism advisory board on Monday and tasked it with assessing antisemitism in the country.
However, the board included among its members a politician who had previously rejected describing the Aqsa Martyrs Brigades as a terrorist organization, along with a lawyer who had represented anti-Israel encampment activists.
Year after year, Toronto police have allowed Muslim pro-terrorist mobs to invade and harass the Jewish community. Now, PM Mark Carney has declared that there is a “scourge of antisemitism” and plans to combat it with a DEI council.
The United States should open the door. It should offer asylum to Canadian Jews.
Asylum. A real, expedited refuge pathway for Canadian Jews who no longer believe their government can protect them, their children, their schools, their synagogues, or their future.
That is a shocking thing to say about Canada. It should be shocking. Canada is not an enemy state. It is not a dictatorship. It is not a country collapsing into anarchy. It is a wealthy democracy, a G7 nation, and a country with a near-bottomless appetite for congratulating itself on tolerance.
Trump might very well do this simply to spite Carney.
For half a century, Doctors Without Borders enjoyed an enviable reputation. They were known and respected for their work in war zones and disaster areas, where volunteers and employees treated the wounded and sick. Known globally as Médecins Sans Frontières, or MSF, the NGO built its credibility on the principle that doctors are there to save lives, not to wage political campaigns.
That reputation is now largely gone, and like other powerful groups in the NGO industry, MSF has become a major platform for political and ideological propaganda campaigns that often accompany wars and terror atrocities.
It is time to say plainly what too many in Canadian public life still prefer to obscure.

OTTAWA — Canada’s Jewish community is being “brutally targeted” amid a crisis of antisemitism, Prime Minister Mark Carney said during a speech in which he declared the country “is failing Jewish Canadians.”
Speaking from Holy Blossom Temple synagogue in Toronto Monday afternoon, Carney denounced the “scourge of antisemitism” afflicting Canada’s Jewish community and pledged to do more to stop it.
But he also called on Canadians to stop importing the world’s conflicts and hatreds here, arguing that Jewish Canadians do not bear the responsibility of events unfolding overseas.

OTTAWA — An OPSEU employee who came under scrutiny for social media posts praising Adolf Hitler will keep her job.
In a statement issued Friday by Canada’s largest public sector union, recently-hired campaign officer Rawan Qaddoura will not be fired over the historic posts on Twitter — now called X — that praised the Third Reich leader and repeated racist tropes that the world is controlled by Jews.
There is a question Washington should ask more directly: what do the Gulf states really want?
The official language is familiar: de-escalation, sovereignty, dialogue, Palestinian rights, regional stability, and balanced relations. These are legitimate concerns. But behind the communiqués lies a harder reality. Gulf capitals know that Israel is no longer isolated. They know that Iran is not merely a difficult neighbor. They also know that saying one thing in Washington, another in Tehran, another in Jerusalem, and another to Arab public opinion has become increasingly difficult to sustain.
On May 18 in Toronto, at a Muslim Association of Canada (MAC) convention, a youth session titled “Visionaries of the Ummah: Youth Activism Lab” encouraged high school and university students to consider how they could help revive the ummah — the global community of Muslims united by faith beyond borders. During the session, Canadian-Egyptian activist Khaled Al-Qazzaz praised the founder of the Muslim Brotherhood, and at least one person publicly, likely more, shared their desire that the community they work toward be “Jew free.”
