‘Dangerously escalating”: Jewish-owned Toronto restaurant becomes 12th target of antisemitic violence

With heavily armed Toronto police guarding Jewish institutions during Passover, a Jewish-owned restaurant became the city’s latest target of antisemitic gunfire on Friday morning, prompting Israel’s ambassador to Canada to urge authorities to act “before it’s too late.”

Old Avenue restaurant in north Toronto was hit by gunfire around 1:30 a.m. on Friday. CTV reported surveillance video showing a man crossing Avenue Road and firing repeatedly into the restaurant, as well its own footage showing bullet holes in the door to the kitchen at the back of the restaurant.

Three men have been charged over an arson attack on four Jewish community ambulances in Golders Green.

Hamza Iqbal, 20, Rehan Khan, 19, and a 17-year-old boy have been charged with arson being reckless as to whether life would be endangered.

The two British nationals from Leyton, and the dual British and Pakistani national from Walthamstow, were arrested on Wednesday.

WARMINGTON: Anti-Israel protesters were banned from a neighbourhood and came anyway

The banning of protests in a Jewish neighbourhood in North York proved to be easier said than done.

Toronto Police found out about that.

I’m not a lawyer nor do I play one on this blog but given Canada’s left leaning judiciary I doubt these restrictions would survive a court challenge.

The Sham of ‘Disarming’ Hamas

Hamas and other Palestinian terror groups have again rejected demands by US President Donald J. Trump’s “Board of Peace” to lay down their weapons. This rejection underscores the determination of terror groups to continue their fight against Israel.

The Palestinian terror groups’ refusal to hand over their weapons shows they do not take seriously Trump’s repeated threats that they must disarm as part of the October 2025 US-brokered ceasefire and reconstruction plan for the Gaza Strip. Trump made his latest threat in February 2026, when he warned that Hamas would be “harshly met” if they failed to disarm.

Jewish advocacy presses Ottawa to boost community security spending

A major Canadian Jewish advocacy organization is pressing Ottawa to substantially increase spending on security for synagogues, schools and community centres in the upcoming spring economic statement.

In a letter to Finance Minister François-Philippe Champagne, the Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs, or CIJA, said additional money is urgently needed after national security agency warnings of a possible extremist attack against Canadian Jews.

Programs of this sort have been around for years. What happens is that Muslims always demand funding as well.

But don’t worry those church arson’s have really slowed down.

An interesting development last week on the front lines of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict — which to some truly awful people means a Jewish neighbourhood in North Toronto. Toronto police announced that henceforth, “due to the changing security landscape in Toronto in recent weeks, including increased volatility and heightened fear in our communities, demonstrations moving into residential neighbourhoods in the Bathurst (Street) and Sheppard (Avenue) area presents an unacceptable risk to public safety.”

I wonder what went on behind the scenes to trigger this sudden about face? Lawsuit?

Green Party activists are facing mounting backlash after leaked WhatsApp messages revealed members describing Jews as “an abomination to this planet” and promoting conspiracy claims about attacks on Jewish targets.

The messages, first reported by The Telegraph, come from a Greens for Palestine group chat and have prompted calls for party leader Zack Polanski to take action, amid warnings of growing antisemitism within the party’s activist base.

In one exchange, a participant wrote that Jews were “an abomination to this planet” during a discussion about Israel and Zionism. Other messages show members claiming Jews “murder, bomb and starve” children and arguing activists should stop using the term ‘Zionists’ out of fear of being labelled antisemitic.

Crown drops charges against woman arrested for making threats at pro-Palestinian protest

The Crown prosecutor handling the case of a woman charged with uttering threats during a pro-Palestinian protest in Montreal has withdrawn all charges.

Mai Abdulhadi, 41, was arrested in December 2025 and later charged with three counts of uttering threats following the protest on Nov. 21, 2024.

She entered a plea of not guilty.

The Koran must be some sort of Get Out Of Jail Card.

A New Jersey man’s assassination plot to firebomb a prominent Palestinian activist’s home with Molotov cocktails was dramatically foiled Thursday after a months-long NYPD intelligence bureau probe, officials and sources said.

Federal agents raided Alexander Heifler’s home in Hoboken on Thursday after he allegedly schemed to attack Nerdeen Kiswani — the founder of the pro-Palestinian group Within Our Lifetime — and flee to Israel, sources said.

Not surprised that someone chose to retaliate.

NHS doctor accused of supporting Hamas shouts ‘game on’ as she addresses crowd of supporters outside court after being released on bail

An NHS doctor charged with posting on social media in support of Hamas shouted ‘game on’ today after being released on bail.

Dr Rahmeh Aladwan appeared at Westminster Magistrates’ Court where she indicated not guilty pleas to four counts of inviting support for the proscribed group.

The court heard the charges date from July 23 to December 31 last year, and relate to comments or material posted online.

McGill adviser quits over ‘escalating pattern of hostility’ toward Jews

The chair of McGill Law School’s Faculty Advisory Board resigned on Sunday in a public letter, faulting university leaders for turning a blind eye to antisemitism on campus.

“Over the past two and a half years, I have observed an escalating pattern of hostility toward Jewish students, faculty, and alumni met with persistent inaction,” Jonathan Amiel wrote in a letter addressed to McGill Law School dean Tina Piper.
