The vote comes as prosecutions under the statute surge and critics warn the law is being used to shield those in power from public scrutiny.
The German parliament has rejected a proposal by the right-wing AfD to abolish Section 188 of the Criminal Code, a provision that gives public officials special protection from criminal insults, defamation, and slander.
The vote took place on Thursday evening, with all parliamentary groups except the AfD opposing the motion.
But the AfD are the fascists.
In North Rhine-Westphalia, the parties that claim to be the protectors of democracy—including the centrist CDU, the left-wing SPD, and the Greens—have ousted a democratically elected deputy mayor from office, simply because she represents the AfD.
Sabine Reinknecht was elected to this post in Bad Salzuflen exactly two weeks ago. This election was reversed today, on November 19th, following a city council meeting that saw the establishment groups team up against Germany’s rising opposition. “Democracy,” she said after the council vote, “was buried here today.”
She was democratically elected, has not done anything wrong but they exercised a clause which allows them to reverse a legitimate election result on a whim.
Hamburg is German’s leading industrial city. Its companies add €20 billion in gross value every year. Much of this economic output is related to Hamburg’s happy location on the Elbe and the fact that the city is home to Europe’s third-largest port. All of this has made Hamburg extremely prosperous, which prosperity has filled it with rafts of clueless virtue-signalling morons who have no idea how anything works, why they find Hamburg attractive in the first place or how their hip urban lifestyles are maintained.

The erosion of civil liberties is not occurring through a coup d’état, but by the slow accumulation of administrative, legal and police measures that shape the contours of a dictatorship as implacable as it is convinced of its own virtue.
Alternative für Deutschland (AfD) members have been banned from public-sector roles by the regional government of Germany’s sixth most populous state. A new policy in Rhineland-Palatinate requires candidates to submit a written declaration of loyalty to the constitution, and to state that they have not been a member of an extremist organisation in the last five years. Anyone who fails to pass this test will not be permitted to take up any public-sector role in the region.

Germany is facing an alarming rise in rape cases. In just five years, the number of reported assaults has increased by 49.5%, surpassing 12,000 per year. And yet, the institutional and academic response does not point towards a serious analysis of the causes or reforms that would effectively protect women. Instead of addressing the factors driving this violence—such as massive and uncontrolled immigration—the reaction is a grotesque distraction: proposing “trap condoms” with internal spikes designed to injure the attacker’s penis.

Holger Münch, head of the Federal Criminal Police Office, warned in May that authorities have increasingly seen a “radicalization of very young people with far-right views,” some of whom are organizing to “commit serious crimes.”

Twice last year, the man repeated the expression “Alles für Deutschland”1 in posts on X – apparently in the course of discussing the indictment of Alternative für Deutschland politician Björn Höcke for the use of the same phrase.

The Alternative for Deutschland (AfD), a pro-free market, anti-EU, anti-mass migration party, placed second in Germany’s recent parliamentary elections, earning nearly 21 percent of the vote to the top vote-getter’s, the Christian Democratic Union’s, 28 percent. The AfD placed well ahead of the once-dominant Social Democratic Party (16 percent) and the Greens (11 percent).
It was supposed to be the killer blow to a party which has stalked the nightmares of Germany’s political elite: a bombshell intelligence report with proof that Alternative for Germany [AfD] was a Nazi-style extremist group.
Running to more than a thousand pages, the report by Germany’s BfV domestic intelligence agency announced that the AfD was a “confirmed Right-wing extremist organisation”, opening the door to a total ban on the party.
But instead of turning the AfD into a pariah, the report has triggered a furious row over the rise of censorship in Germany, and damaged relations between its new government and the Trump administration.

Suggesting that Islamic culture is not compatible with Christian society, criticising “globalist” elites, claiming that immigration and certain ethnic minorities are linked to higher rates of crime, and even calling for the use of private firms to assist in deportations were all listed as evidence that the populist Alternative for Germany party is a “right wing extremist” organisation.
