‘Complete stranger’ with cache of guns arrested in Toronto killings of international student and 35-year-old man, police say

A Toronto man has been arrested in the shocking daylight killings of Indian international student Kartik Vasudev, 21, and 35-year-old Elijah Eleazar Mahepath, victims police say were “apparent strangers” to the man who allegedly shot and killed them downtown last week.

Easier access – Police make arrest in two seemingly random homicides, suggest suspect may have been planning other shootings

Police have arrested a suspect in connection with a pair of seemingly random shootings that they say targeted two “completely innocent” men just going about their lives.

The first shooting took place outside the Glen Road entrance to Sherbourne Station at around 5 p.m. on April 7, resulting in the death of 21-year-old Seneca College student Kartik Vasudev.

Richard Jonathan Edwin, 39, is charged with two counts of first-degree murder.

Earlier coverage – Harris said the suspect was last seen on foot south on Glen Road and is described as a Black male who stands approximately five-foot-six to five-foot-seven with a medium build.

Facing massive crime waves, California cities spent COVID relief funds on police

It turns out that it was not such a great strategy to drive officers off the job by embracing anti-police rhetoric amid a surge in homicides. California’s soft-on-crime attitude has real effects, and those effects are compounded when Democratic city leaders refuse to stand behind their police. After all, those officers can often go take jobs in pleasant places such as Montana or Idaho, where the risks are lower, the pay is comparable, and there’s no need to deal with toxic California politicians.

Fighting Back: In D.A. Larry Krasner’s city, citizens are left to protect themselves.

Philadelphia’s progressive district attorney Larry Krasner has let violence and mayhem run unchecked in the City of Brotherly Love. Elected on a platform of de-prosecution and decarceration, Krasner has instituted policies that have contributed to the city’s setting a new annual record for homicides, with 562 killings in 2021, and murders are still on the rise in 2022. Carjackings also have been spiking, with 224 in 2019, 409 in 2020, and 840 in 2021. Meantime, Krasner keeps letting criminals walk and has even expanded his program of non-prosecution to include firearms offenses, in the belief that such prosecutions are unjust and racially discriminatory.

Like True Commies, the Democrats Create Crime Then Use Crime Stats to Take Our Guns

Democrats love mass shootings. It’s their best chance at taking away our guns. We saw it happen in Australia back in 1996 when some wackjob killed 35 people and Australians HANDED OVER THEIR firearms — 700,000 or so to be exact, because, you know, safety, I guess…?

As you have probably heard, a mass shooting in Sacramento, Calif., left six people dead and 15 more wounded. The story isn’t getting a ton of traction because the shooter is most likely not Muslim or white. The media loves when the shooter is a Muslim because terror attacks keep people focused on the news. Lefty media will drag out a mass shooting when the shooter is white because it backs up the lie that most mass shooters are angry, drooling white guys in NRA hats.

Jury deliberations underway in Michigan Gov. Whitmer plot

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (AP) — A jury in Michigan started its deliberations Monday in the trial of four men accused of designing a plan to kidnap Gov. Gretchen Whitmer.

The jury picked a leader Friday and went home for the weekend, following hours of closing arguments from lawyers on the 15th day of trial.

Adam Fox, Barry Croft Jr., Daniel Harris and Brandon Caserta can be found guilty of conspiracy, even if they didn’t pull off a kidnapping in fall 2020, U.S. District Judge Robert Jonker said during jury instructions.

Sacramento Shooting: 6 dead, 12 injured

Police say six people are dead and 12 others have been injured after a shooting early Sunday morning in downtown Sacramento.

Sacramento Police Chief Kathy Lester said at a news conference that police were patrolling the area at about 2 a.m. when they heard gunfire. When they arrived at the scene, they found a large crowd gathered on the street and six people dead. At least 10 people either took themselves or were transported to hospitals.

Authorities don’t know whether one or more suspects were involved and are asking for the public’s help in identifying who is responsible. Lester did not give specifics on the type of gun used.

A woman was killed and five others wounded in a shooting Saturday night at a Portland park where people had gathered to protest the police shooting of Amir Locke.

Police responded to reports of shots fired at a street intersection near Normandale Park just after 8 pm, before demonstrators could even begin a planned march, which was set to begin at 8, flyers posted on social media show.

Arriving officers found one woman dead, and two men and three other women were taken to the hospital, police said. Their conditions were not immediately known.
