A Canadian doctor has suggested that babies with severe deformities could be euthanized under the country’s controversial assisted suicide laws.
Quebec College of Physicians member Louis Roy has been condemned by a lobbying group after a comment he made during a 2022 parliamentary committee resurfaced.
Roy previously said that under current Canadian law, assisted suicide could be considered for infants up to one year old with severe ailments.
In the United States, the life expectancy is 78.4 years. In Canada, it’s 82.2.
That would be a good statistic to insert into a response to America’s Canada-trashers, like Ambassador Pete Hoekstra or Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick. A line like: “Dear Americans, if you want to live several years longer, move to Canada.”
It’s a telling statistic. In the debate in Carneyland over the need to turn away from the United States and broaden relations with Europe and elsewhere, the focus has been on the imperative of lessening reliance on American trade and defence.

All 11 teachers who were suspended in 2024 after being accused of fostering a toxic climate at a Montreal elementary school have had their licences revoked, according to the office of Quebec’s education minister.
Confirmation of the 11 licences being revoked came on the same day the Education Ministry made public a final report into the situation at Bedford elementary school.
The revocation of the licences is the latest development in a saga that reignited the debate around secularism in the province and raised concerns about religious indoctrination in Quebec schools.
Nowhere in the Gaslighting CBC article is it noted that the 11 suspended teachers were Muslims.

Prime Minister Mark Carney on Thursday unveiled Canada’s new clean electricity strategy as electricity demand in Canada grows.
The plan aims to double the capacity of Canada’s grid by 2050, Carney said, adding that the federal government is launching consultations with provinces, territories, Indigenous groups, utility companies and unions.
“Over the coming decades, Canadians will use more electricity because many of the things we use every day, the cars we drive, the heaters in our home, the machines in our factories are switching to electric power. Doubling our grid to meet that demand won’t be easy,” Carney said.

A leading figure in the Muslim Association of Britain (MAB) who defended Hamas’s hostage-taking in its Oct 7 attack on Israel has been refused entry to Canada.
Dr Anas Altikriti, who is listed as a director of the association, had planned to attend and speak at a Muslim Association of Canada convention in Toronto on May 16-18.
However, he was held and questioned for 11 hours on arrival in Montreal before being escorted back on to a plane to London.
In February, President Trump joked at a closed-door Alfalfa Club dinner, “We’re not going to invade Greenland. We’re going to buy it.”

As some Canadians claim that the federal government’s national census violates their privacy, a Liberal member of Parliament is calling on them to fill out their 2026 census forms for the good of their communities.
Canadians have been asked to fill out the census form by May 12, though Statistics Canada says that’s a “reference date” rather than a deadline.

Over the weekend, the Ontario Liberal Party held a nomination race to select their candidate for the upcoming provincial byelection in Scarborough Southwest. Ahsanul Hafiz took 718 votes on the third ballot to defeat current Liberal MP Nathaniel Erskine-Smith, who received 699 votes.
