Canada’s Security Chief Met with Muslim Leader to Fight ‘Islamophobia.’ Then This Happened.

Dan Rogers, the head of Canada’s Center for Strategic and International Studies, had a friendly meeting recently with the CEO of the National Council of Canadian Muslims, Stephen Brown. They got together to discuss ways that the Canadian government could combat “Islamophobia,” but for Rogers, the timing of this meeting was not just bad; it was catastrophic.

SMOL: Time for a grown-up conversation about Mark and Jennie’s Canadian citizen-militia

It has taken me a while to absorb the recent proposal by the Chief of the Defence Staff, General Jennie Carigan, clearly supported by Prime Minister Mark Carney, to raise a 300,000-strong “citizen militia” in peacetime.

The proposal suggests this would be built initially on a cadre of civil servants given a week’s military training to prepare for war.

We are not all brothers

Dan Elkayam was a young French engineer from Le Bourget, in Seine-Saint-Denis, today almost devoid of Jews. On the first night of Hanukkah, like many young Jews far from home, he went to forge a bond with his people during the lighting of the Hanukkah menorah. As bullets began to fly, Dan rushed to shield a little girl with his own body and died under the terrorists’ gunfire.

Holocaust survivor Alex Kleytman was killed while protecting his wife Larisa. Both Alex and Larisa survived the Holocaust as children: Alex had to endure “terrible conditions” in Siberia. Years of malnutrition and cramped conditions left Kleytman partially disabled.

‘Never Mind’: Liberals Increasingly Walking Back From Apocalyptic Predictions Over Climate Change

It’s been a cold winter so far in the Midwest and much of the Northeast, early-in-the-season snow even at Washington, D.C., and temperatures falling to freezing and below in much of the South. Come to think of it, North America’s 2024-25 winter was pretty cold too. It’s gotten to the point that “polar vortex” is a phrase on just about everyone’s lips.

Ukraine: Russia’s Hollow Victory

The latest haggling over ending the war in Ukraine appears to be focused on three elements, two of which could be labeled “promissory” and one “instant delivery.”

The instant delivery bit concerns an agreement to let Russia keep the chunk of Donbas it has conquered. That is what US President Donald Trump calls “territorial concession” by Ukraine.

In his latest meeting with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz in Berlin, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky seemed to have accepted such an outcome with the caveat that it be regarded as de facto rather than de jure.

Canada cancels intake for two economic immigration programs

Ottawa is cancelling the intakes of two economic immigration programs in its attempt to manage backlogs and reduce immigration levels.

On Friday, the Immigration Department said it will stop accepting new applications for the Start-Up Visa program — Canada’s only business immigration program — beginning on Jan. 1. Officials will also immediately pause the intake of the Home Care Worker Immigration pilots until further notice.

More Liberal media BS? Is this the real reason the “caregiver” program is being shut down?

The Region of Waterloo has identified a water capacity issue affecting the Mannheim Service Area, which supplies Kitchener, Waterloo, parts of Cambridge, and surrounding townships.

However, a third-party review of the system is now underway to determine the best course of action.

Mystery Solved: This Is What It Takes for Local Cops to Arrest Somebody at Portland ICE HQ

Antifa riots and mayhem at the Immigration and Customs Enforcement headquarters in Portland, Oregon, have been on the wane since the wintry rains began to blanket the city.

Until Friday night, that is, when Portland Police made a rare arrest.

Friday night is when Portland Police arrested one of the costumed weirdos populating the scrum of leftover Antifa and Trantifa activists who collect outside the ICE HQ and attack federal officers to keep them from rolling up bad guys.

Man arrested following sexual assault on Mississauga bus, faces other charges for similar Richmond Hill incident

Peel police say they’ve arrested a man following an alleged sexual assault on a transit bus in Mississauga earlier this month.

In a release on Saturday, police said the suspect boarded a bus on Nov. 18 and sat beside a female he did not know.

It is alleged the suspect sexually assaulted the female victim while the bus was moving. The suspect then fled, but was arrested by Peel officers a short distance away.

Saman Salimianrizi, 32, of no fixed address, was arrested and charged with sexual assault and two counts of breach of probation.

The ideal immigrant according to Mark Carney.

Rubio Warns Europe Risks Destroying ‘Shared Culture‘ of the West

Secretary of State Marco Rubio has warned that Europe risks destroying the “shared culture” of the West and in turn weaken bonds with the United States.

At a press briefing from the Department of State in Washington DC on Friday, Secretary of State Rubio doubled down on the assertions made in the White House’s National Security Strategy memo, which declared that Europe faces “civilizational erasure” if it continues globalist policies of mass migration and attacks on fundamental liberties such as freedom of speech.
