TORONTO — Maj.-Gen. Dany Fortin, the public face of Canada’s vaccine rollout since November, is facing a sexual misconduct claim against him that dates back more than 30 years, CTV News has learned.
Sources tell CTV News that military police received a formal complaint against Fortin in March, alleging a “historical sexual assault.” The incident, sources say, allegedly dates back 32 years to early 1989, when Fortin was a student at the Royal Military College in Saint-Jean, Que.
Senior Palestinian Islamic Jihad commander Hasam Abu Harbid was killed in an Israeli airstrike in the northern Gaza Strip Monday afternoon as rockets fired from the blockaded enclave continued to be fired towards southern Israel communities.
The IDF said that Abu-Harbid, who was killed in a joint operation with the Shin Bet intelligence services, commanded over the northern Gaza Strip division of the terror organization since 2019 when his predecessor Baha abu el-Atta was killed in a targeted assassination by the IDF.
Ont. reports 2,170 new COVID-19 cases, lowest daily death toll in nearly 2 months
Ontario is reporting just under 2,200 new COVID-19 cases and four more virus-related deaths, the lowest daily death toll recorded in almost two months.
Provincial health officials logged 2,170 new COVID-19 infections today, down slightly from the 2,199 cases confirmed on Sunday.
Today’s tally is a notable drop from the 2,716 cases reported last Monday.

In an Instagram post over the weekend, Cullors praised a National Public Radio report that “highlighted” the history of racism in the US housing market.
