Straight Pride’ march outside abortion clinic clashes with 200 protesters

A march celebrating “straight pride” outside of an abortion clinic in California devolved into violence as participants clashed with more than 200 pro-LGBTQ and pro-choice counter-protesters, according to a report.

The National Straight Pride Coalition, which organized the event, held for the fourth consecutive year in Modesto on Saturday, described its cause as backing heterosexuality, the “natural nuclear family,” Western civilization, Caucasians, Christianity and nationalism.

Federal jury awards $100M in stun gun fall paralysis lawsuit

ATLANTA — A federal jury in Atlanta has awarded $100 million to a panhandler who fell and broke his neck after a police officer shocked him with a stun gun during a foot chase, news agencies report.

Jerry Blasingame now needs round-the-clock care costing $1 million a year, and has $14 million in medical bills so far, attorney Ven Johnson told jurors.

Jurors found that Officer Jon Grubbs used unreasonable force against Blasingame, who was 65 years old and had been asking drivers for money on July 10, 2018. He was paralyzed from the neck down and is now 69 years old.

Drinking recycled sewage ‘is the future’

This summer we’ve seen things we never thought we’d see — temperatures of 40C and above in Britain and months of unusually dry weather that have broken records for low rainfall. Many of our rivers and reservoirs are exceptionally low, and millions are subject to a hosepipe ban.

In continental Europe the picture is even starker. In Germany, the Rhine is at such low levels that ships cannot move, and France is send water by tanker to hundreds of places where the taps have run dry.

Unsealed Mar-a-Lago search warrant affidavit reveals the government has no case against Trump

When two dozen or more FBI agents searched former President Trump’s residence three weeks ago, most Americans initially were left wondering what in the world must Trump have done. After all, a prodigious FBI search logically indicates an equally prodigious violation of some federal statute; therefore, it must be really serious. One former Department of Justice (DOJ) official told Politico that the evidence sought “was likely so pulverizing in its force” that it would “eviscerate” the possibility of the optics for such an invasive law enforcement action not being good.

Well, it’s now pretty official: The optics aren’t good.

Now police are removing lesbians from Pride marches for the crime of challenging trans ideology.

Pride Cymru and the rise of woke homophobia

There are few sights more joyous than that of bolshy lesbians celebrating how few fucks they have left to give. And such scenes were in abundance on Saturday at Pride Cymru in Cardiff, Wales’ biggest LGBT parade, which was joined by the lesbians of the ‘Get the L Out’ (GTLO) campaign. The GTLO banners might have seemed baffling to the uninitiated – with slogans such as ‘lesbians don’t like penises’, ‘trans activism erases lesbians’ and ‘lesbian not queer’ – but they speak to a profound rift that has emerged in the so-called LGBT movement.

The Fall of ‘Nature’

A once-respected journal has announced that it will be subordinating science to ideology.

Although the modern prestige bestowed upon science is laudable, it is not without peril. For as the ideological value of science increases, so too does the threat to its objectivity. Slogans and hashtags can quickly politicize science, and scientists can be tempted to subordinate the pursuit of the truth to moral or political ends as they become aware of their own prodigious social importance. Inconvenient data can be suppressed or hidden and inconvenient research can be quashed. This is especially true when one political tribe or faction enjoys disproportionate influence in academia—its members can disfigure science (often unconsciously) to support their own ideological preferences. This is how science becomes more like propaganda than empiricism, and academia becomes more like a partisan media organization than an impartial institution.

Tehran Debates the Bomb

After more than three decades, a debate that started during the Iran-Iraq war seems to be making a comeback in Tehran: Should the Islamic Republic take the final steps towards building a nuclear arsenal?

The original debate that took place behind the scenes was prompted by the revelation that, with French help, Iraq’s Saddam Hussein had been trying to build a nuclear capacity around Osirak, a nuclear power station and research center which was wiped out in a surprise attack by the Israeli Air Force.

The revolution brewing in San Francisco’s Castro district sounds familiar

Olivia Murray wrote about the fact that business owners in San Francisco’s Castro district are fed up that the city is doing nothing to stop the influx of homeless into the district, complete with bodies splayed on the sidewalk, litter and, of course, human waste. For those of us who remember the city in the 1970s, this is a familiar tale—and one rife with possibilities.

Beginning in the 1960s, San Francisco had the biggest and most vibrant gay meccas in the world, located right on Castro Street, with the hub where Castro intersected with Market. By the mid-1970s, we high school students often went there for the great old movies at the Castro Theater, to visit the cool boutiques, to eat at the trendy-but-still-affordable restaurants and, naturally, take in the street scene.

A Mass Murderer of Jews Goes to Berlin

81 years after the Mufti of Jerusalem visited Hitler and asked him to kill all the Jews, Mahmoud Abbas, his current successor as leader of the “Palestinian” cause, arrived in Berlin.

At a press conference with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, Abbas refused to apologize for his Munich Massacre of Jews and falsely claimed that Israel had carried out “50 holocausts” against the Arab Muslim settlers occupying Israel.

Scholz, Merkel’s successor, said nothing at the joint press conference, but later tepidly condemned the remarks. “I am disgusted by the outrageous remarks made by Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas,” he tweeted. Why should he be? This is who Abbas is.

The Da Vinci Code Attacked the Wrong Religion … But it got some things right.

The attack on Salman Rushdie reminds us once again of the difference between Islam and other religions.  In response to the publication of The Satanic Verses, the Ayatollah Khomeini issued a death fatwa in 1989 against Rushdie which resulted in attacks on two translators, one publisher, and a massacre at a hotel in Turkey.

Thirty years after the issuance of the fatwa, the Ayatollah Ali Khamenei made it clear that the fatwa was still in effect; and two weeks ago, a Muslim man heeded the call and attacked Rushdie as he was about to deliver a talk at an event in Chautauqua, New York.  Rushdie was stabbed 15 times and severely wounded.

The ‘MacGyvered’ Weapons in Ukraine’s Arsenal

WASHINGTON — The billions of dollars in military aid the United States has sent Ukraine includes some of the most advanced and lethal weapons systems in the world. But Ukraine has also scored big successes in the war by employing the weapons and equipment in unexpected ways, and jury-rigging some on the fly, according to military experts.
From the sinking of the Moskva, Russia’s Black Sea flagship, in April to the attack on a Russian air base in Crimea this month, Ukrainian troops have used American and other weapons in ways few expected, the experts and Defense Department officials say.

It was America’s bio-spooks who locked down the West

IT is nearly two years since the world turned upside down and a sequence of unprecedented lockdowns and quarantines in the name of public health and safety were imposed across the West.

The narrative of the still unfolding story of Covid-19 is familiar to all of us, with China the chief bogeyman of the tale. But is that right?

In this drama has something really important been overlooked? Namely, the role of a powerful, self-appointed supranational organisation, set up 2017, called the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations…

Interesting, this is a 4 part series of Covid coverage by Paula Jardine of CW.

We are still in denial about radical Islam

Even the savagery of the ‘ISIS Beatles’ is already being forgotten.

On 11 September 2011, the 10th anniversary of 9/11, there was a mass brawl outside a pub in Marble Arch in London. A bunch of boozed-up members of the English Defence League had a run-in with Muslim youths. It was depicted as typical EDL ugliness. As one eye-witness described it to the Evening Standard, the ‘EDL guys’ were drinking outside the pub ‘when a large group of Muslims walked past’. The EDL thugs ‘started hurling racist abuse at the Muslims, who took offence’. ‘[The Muslims] got angry’, the eye-witness said, ‘and were yelling back’. Things escalated and two EDL members were stabbed.
