The New Yorker magazine reflecting the same assertion by its subject, Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, claims that it is conservatives who have gotten “weird” over her announcement that she is freezing her eggs. However, when you actually read the Friday story by Anna Russell, “A.O.C.’s Eggs and the Working Woman’s Inconvenient Truth,” the weird ones appear to be both New Yorker magazine and AOC.
Late last year, when Sarah Lammersen learned her 2022 Jeep Wrangler plug-in hybrid was being recalled because the high-voltage battery could catch fire at any time — even when the vehicle was parked — she jokingly texted the dealership, “I hope the car doesn’t catch on fire while we wait to schedule an appointment.”
Days later, the Jeep burst into flames. No one was injured in the blaze, which occurred while Lammersen’s daughter drove the vehicle, but the Jeep was destroyed, according to a lawsuit over the incident.

Migrants are living in illegal tent shanty towns – while working as delivery drivers for global brands like Deliveroo, Just Eat and Uber Eats.
The Daily Mail has discovered instances of delivery workers for all three brands living in homeless encampments in the capital this week.
At the largest such camp, under a bridge in fashionable Shoreditch, east London, we saw several delivery riders setting off for or returning from work while living in squalid conditions without access to running water.

Britain’s first 15mph bike lane will aim to tackle the scourge of speeding cyclists increasingly threatening the safety of pedestrians.
Cambridge, Britain’s cycling capital, has introduced new limits along one of the city’s most popular bike routes.
Cambridgeshire county council said the move was in response to regular concerns from residents “including older people and families with young children” over cyclists travelling at “excessive speeds”.

A package of cannabis that may have been purchased legally from a government-owned store became illicit when a detainee at a Quebec prison stuffed it in his anus, the province’s highest court has ruled.
The decision comes in the case of Vincent Tardif, who had appealed a conviction for possessing cannabis with the intent to distribute, arguing that the prosecution hadn’t proven that he knew the cannabis he possessed was illicit.

Allen Siyou Wu says he was naive about what can happen to home building sites in Windsor.
But now that his student housing project has been hit by vandals and copper wire thieves on four separate occasions so far this summer, he’s wondering how crimes like these continue to happen.
