AI model submits fake tip to police about unsolved murder

An AI model made by Anthropic submitted a fake tip about an unsolved murder to police in Philadelphia, but the developer did not detect the incident for more than two months.

Anthropic said its Claude Haiku 4.5 model had landed on a police website for unsolved homicides during a test where it was instructed to complete an online form but stop short of submitting it.

The Philadelphia police department said the AI had posed as a person with knowledge of a case when it made the submission on July 18 on phillyunsolvedmurders.com, which features a list of murders and a police tip form.

Unbelievably, a California city initiated the ban. In 1956, Santa Cruz officials banned rock ’n’ roll music at public gatherings, fearing it might corrupt young people. The music was just getting started when officials argued it was “detrimental to both the health and morals of our youth and community.”

That would be followed in the 1980s by criticism over obscene lyrics in rock ’n’ roll music that were also believed to have a negative impact on the young. The Parents Music Resource Center—a group co-founded by Tipper Gore, the wife of then-Democratic Senator Al Gore —initiated action to require warning labels on albums containing such lyrics. Performers such as Frank Zappa protested her efforts and testified before Congress to oppose the proposed measures.

CAF faces human rights hearing over denial of marriage counselling to sexual minority officer

The Canadian Armed Forces faces a federal human rights hearing after a sexual minority military officer alleged she was denied marriage counselling because she was unmarried.

Blacklock’s Reporter says Capt. Corrin Haag filed a complaint under the Canadian Human Rights Act, claiming military personnel discriminated against her based on marital status or sexual orientation when she sought relationship counselling in 2023.

This will cripple Canada’s armed forces for at least a year.

A man who brutally beat and raped a woman, leaving her unrecognizable and “choking on blood” in the bushes of a Calgary subdivision, was sentenced to 12 years in prison last month.

Alberta Court of Justice Judge Allan Fradsham convicted Kepra Udup Bang, 27, earlier this year of the 2019 aggravated sexual assault of the woman identified as MM in court documents under a publication ban to protect her identity.

Congolese-Born Man Walks Away with One Year for Beating Swedish Cop to Death

Danish court has sentenced a Congolese-born man to just one year in prison for beating Swedish police officer and father of two, Christian Zedig, to death, sparking widespread outrage across Europe and prompting Copenhagen to promise stricter sentencing laws.

Copenhagen City Court handed down the sentence on Wednesday, 7 October, to 31-year-old Nkumba Ludovic Tshiembe, a Danish citizen who arrived from Congo as an infant. He was also banned from nightlife establishments for one year.

Moroccan wedding guests have attacked the Member of the Flemish Parliament Filip Dewinter @FDW_VB in Antwerp city hall in Belgium.

The anti-migration politician is also a Councilman of the Antwerp City Council and arrived in city hall for a council meeting together with fellow Vlaams Belang councillor Anke Van Dermeersch.

A large group of Moroccans who had gathered in front of city hall for wedding pictures recognized the politician, called him a racist and quickly attacked him.

Dewinter was grabbed by the throat by a large man, pushed inside city hall, punched and kicked by several people.

He came away with a bleeding eyebrow and a black eye, and has filed a complaint for assault and battery.

European politicians are now attacked at their work place for opposing mass-immigration.
