Where did she come from? Why is she being force-fed on population?” (The actress is Chuck Schumer’s cousin, and looking back I wonder if Drudge was implying that family connections were a driving force behind her then-burgeoning fame.)

‘Rings Of Power’ Season Two Isn’t Even Worth Hate Watching

Siege engines are not stealthy.

Relatedly, it is time to pull the plug on Amazon’s Tolkien adaptation. There was much to complain about in season two of “The Rings of Power,” but the nadir might have been a squadron of siege engines rolling out of the woods in a surprise attack against Eregion. This might seem a minor quibble given the failures of plot, characterization, and dialogue that have plagued the series, but it encapsulated the show’s complete indifference to even basic competence.

I was certain that MAGA hating racialized gay elves was the way Tolkien himself would have envisioned the story.

Woman Who Tried to Smuggle 29 Turtles Wrapped in Socks Pleads Guilty

A woman pleaded guilty on Friday to attempting to smuggle 29 Eastern box turtles, a protected species, that were individually wrapped in socks inside a duffle bag as she tried to paddle in an inflatable kayak across a lake from Vermont to Canada over the summer, officials said.

The woman, Wan Yee Ng, of Hong Kong, was arrested in June at a rental residence in Canaan, Vt., as she was about to enter into the kayak with the bag on Lake Wallace, according to a statement by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Vermont.

The Chinese are like locusts there isn’t an animal they won’t kill for food or “medical” potions or powders.

B.C. NDP could be punished for its policies on crime

After being arrested, a British Columbian can successfully sue the police for making racist or other insulting comments, “even if the mental distress is not very serious,” now-B.C. Premier David Eby wrote in 2007.

And even if you are being legally arrested in the act of stealing a car, Eby wrote, you can later go to court for thousands of dollars of compensation if you are bitten by a police dog.

Ontario First Nations accept $47.8 billion child welfare deal after intense debate

After two days of lengthy and contentious discussions in Toronto, Ontario’s First Nations have ratified a $47.8-billion child welfare reform agreement with Ottawa, which has been in the works since 2016.

Ontario’s largest confederation of First Nations, the Nishnawbe Aski Nation (NAN), voted to ratify the agreement, followed by the Chiefs of Ontario (COO) on Thursday afternoon. A third and final vote will be held at the Assembly of First Nations meeting in Calgary next week.

This grift has to end.

Canada expels Indian high commissioner, five other diplomats

Canada has expelled six Indian diplomats, including the high commissioner.

A senior government official with knowledge of the situation says the expulsions come as Canada has evidence of ongoing violent criminal activity linked to the Indian government.

Angry India accuses Canada of ‘preposterous’ investigation

India has reacted angrily after being told by Canada that its ambassador and other diplomats were named as “persons of interest” in an investigation in the country.

The foreign ministry in Delhi said it received the news in a diplomatic communication from Canada on Sunday, and reserved the right to respond. “The Government of India strongly rejects these preposterous imputations,” it said.

The statement refers to allegations last year by Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau that the Indian government may have been behind the killing of a Sikh separatist on Canadian soil. Delhi has repeatedly rejected the allegation.

Trudeau is a disaster at home or abroad.

Canada Post Seizes over $10 million in contraband as senators debate tighter mail seizure rules

Postal inspectors intercepted over $10 million worth of contraband in Canadian mail last year, with most of it destined for indigenous and northern communities, Canada Post told the Senate legal and constitutional affairs committee.

Blacklock’s Reporter says the seizures, which included $4.4 million worth of illegal items from 3,191 packages in 2023, come amid ongoing discussions about expanding police powers to intercept suspicious mail.
