China’s envoy says Beijing, Ottawa ‘eye to eye’ on supporting Greenland

OTTAWA — China’s envoy to Canada says the two countries “see eye to eye” on the need to support Greenland’s territorial integrity and Beijing wants to play a productive role in the North — even as analysts warn Moscow and Beijing are working together in the region.

“China’s consistent policy is to respect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of all countries. That goes to Greenland, that goes to Canada, and that goes through all the other countries,” Chinese Ambassador Wang Di said through an interpreter this week.

Trump: We used ‘Discombobulator’ weapon in Maduro raid

A secret weapon called “The Discombobulator” was essential to the US raid that captured Nicolas Maduro, Donald Trump said.

The US president appeared to confirm the existence of a mysterious sonic device that may be behind reports of Mr Maduro’s henchmen being knocked off their feet by a wave of sound.

Experts have questioned the details from a witness account, which claimed the weapon left Mr Maduro’s guards bleeding from the nose and vomiting blood.

Thousand-strong mob of thirsty camels storms outback town

In a tiny dot on the map of Australia’s vast northern deserts a mob is rampaging. Fences have been flattened, pipes unearthed, taps torn from walls and toilet cisterns demolished. It is so hot even the camels have the hump.

The mob mostly strikes Mount Liebig, about 200 miles west of Alice Springs, at night. Northern Territory officials say they have travelled hundreds of miles to lay siege to the isolated town. The group of 1,000 camels, parched even by a camel’s standards, has wandered in search of water. Even air conditioners are a target as searing temperatures show little sign of letting up across the country.

Asked what they believe to be the most important international threat to Canada, forty-four percent of Canadians cite the US/Trump.

This more than doubled from the 17 percent of Canadians who reported believing the US/Trump was the most important international threat to Canada in the 2020 wave.

The next threats Canadians cite as most important are China (seven percent) and trade wars (also seven percent). While the percentage of Canadians citing trade wars as the most important international threat to Canada remained consistent relative to the 2020 wave (seven percent), it should be noted that the percentage of Canadians citing China as the most important threat decreased to seven percent in 2025 from twenty-two percent in 2020.

Canadians are split over whether government should support protesters in Iran: poll

Canadians are divided over whether government support should be offered to protesters in Iran, according to a new poll.

Just 26 per cent of Canadians said the federal government should publicly declare support for the protesters, while 30 per cent said it should not, according to a national poll conducted by Leger for the Association for Canadian Studies. Forty per cent of respondents said they didn’t know and four per cent did not respond.

26%. Those support numbers seem awfully low. Have we hit some sort of Islamization tipping point?
