Canada needs to stand against Marco Rubio’s latest crusade — even if it costs us say two windbag Liberals

This week, the world marks International Justice Day and the 28th anniversary of the Rome Statute, which established the International Criminal Court. All these years later, it remains among the most consequential efforts ever made to hold war criminals accountable. Now Washington has announced its intention to “dismantle the ICC brick by brick, if necessary.”

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio has launched a campaign explicitly designed — as he put it in a Wall Street Journal op-ed — to “systematically disable” the court, pressuring nations to withdraw their support, cut off funding and abandon an institution the United States never joined. Countries that rely on American security guarantees, Rubio has made clear, should take the hint and fall in line.

Whatever the founding intention the ICC is now just a an extreme left bully pulpit.

He says the documents prove China engaged in a massive cyber attack to steal voter data, influence the 2020 election, and sabotage his first term in office — and the U.S. “deep state” either cooperated or covered it up.

Canada to keep Gordie Howe Bridge toll revenue until project debt is cleared, Mark Carney says

OTTAWA — Canada won’t share toll revenues from the Gordie Howe International Bridge with the United States until the project’s debts are repaid, with Prime Minister Mark Carney stating on Thursday that the $6.4-billion crossing may run operating losses in its early years.

“It’s not splitting the tolls at the bridge. It is an agreement for 15 years to split net revenues,” Carney said at a news conference in London, Ont. “Any sharing of the toll revenue won’t happen until all of the debt is repaid.

Canada to buy nearly $2-billion in armoured vehicles from U.S. defence contractor

The federal government has picked the local subsidiary of a U.S. defence contractor as Ottawa’s first “strategic partner” to build capabilities for the country’s growing military, Prime Minister Mark Carney announced Thursday.

As part of this, Canada will pay General Dynamics Land Systems-Canada nearly $2-billion over four years to build 190 more armoured combat support vehicles, expanding the Canadian Army’s fleet of armoured vehicles to 550 from 360, Mr. Carney said at the company’s plant in London, Ont.

Moaning husband details hellish misery woke Canadian wife is suffering in ICE custody as she faces deportation for slapping teens wearing MAGA clothing

The husband of a Canadian woman who is set to be deported for allegedly slapping a teenage girl wearing MAGA-branded clothing says she is enduring hellish conditions inside a squalid immigration facility.

Kaitlyn Tracey, 33, is locked up at New Jersey’s notoriously grim immigration facility Delaney Hall, after being detained over an alleged assault on a teen during Fourth of July celebrations on the Jersey Shore.

Police said Tracey confronted a group of teenagers who were wearing ‘patriotic colored’ clothes, which were reportedly emblazoned with ‘Trump’ and ‘ICE’, before she allegedly slapped one of the teens.

Canadians Like Depraved Slave Labour Camp Called China More Than US Says Pew Research Survey

Canadians’ opinions of the United States have deteriorated while their perceptions of China have improved compared to a few years ago, a new report suggests.

According to a Pew Research Center report released Wednesday, 44 per cent of Canadians surveyed between February and May hold a favourable view of China, while 33 per cent feel the same about the U.S. Last year, Canadians were “equally” favourable toward both countries. But in 2023, most Canadians had a “positive view” of the U.S. at 57 per cent, compared to 14 per cent that viewed China positively.

Every time I write one of these “Cuba Falling” articles, I feel like I need to end the “Cuba Falling” part with a question mark. US Congress takes next step to make daylight saving time permanent

The US House of Representatives has voted to make daylight saving time permanent by passing the Sunshine Protection Act on Tuesday.

With a 308-117 vote, members of both parties approved the bill, which would remove the need for Americans to change their clocks twice a year and put the US under time currently observed between March and November – known as permanent standard time.
