Neil Young weighs in on Trump-Springsteen feud: ‘We need a real president!’

As Bruce Springsteen’s feud with U.S. President Donald Trump drags on, it would appear that the all-American rockstar has some backup from across the border.

In a Tuesday blog post, Canadian musician Neil Young chimed into the ongoing social media battle between Trump and Springsteen, a vocal Democratic Party supporter and friend of former U.S. president Barack Obama. Springsteen launched a blistering rebuke of the president on tour, last week.

“The America I love, the America I’ve written about that has been a beacon of hope and liberty for 250 years is currently in the hands of a corrupt, incompetent and treasonous administration,” Springsteen told a Manchester, U.K., crowd last Thursday.

Blistering huh?

Lib Journalists Delight in New Pope As Possible Anti-Trump Activist

While Americans across the political spectrum celebrated the elevation of an American Cardinal, Robert Prevost to become Pope Leo XIV, liberal journalists took special delight in evidence that the new Pope — just like his predecessor — seems to disagree with the Trump administration on issues like immigration.

Yet Pope Leo’s obvious opposition to same-sex marriage, abortion, and other positions embraced by American liberals received a lot less attention from these same programs.

Just hours before Canada’s federal election, a man treated a street festival here in Vancouver like it was a bowling lane and his vehicle was the ball. Eleven people have died as a result, with several others injured. But sure, let’s make the federal election all about U.S. President Donald Trump.

Local police quickly ruled out terrorism. How could they possibly know so fast?

Well, because they were apparently like, “Oh, it was just THAT guy.” And not because he hangs out at the doughnut shop with them and shoots the breeze, but because he’s out there doing enough criming that they know his exact brand of crime – and it isn’t terrorism.

Anyone who was outed, or usually falsely accused, of harbouring Communist sympathies lost their jobs or were otherwise ostracised from public life. Everyone from government employees, including teachers and professors, to artists and journalists were treated with suspicion. Many were terrified of revealing the wrong views or saying the wrong thing. This crusade against the alleged Communist threat was led in large part by Republican senator Joseph McCarthy.

Al Gore draws parallels between Trump 2.0 and early Nazi Germany in speech

Al Gore said there were “important lessons” to be learned from similarities between the early rise of Nazi Germany and the recent actions of the Trump administration, in scathing comments made Monday during remarks about climate change.

During a speech at an event to mark the beginning of San Francisco’s Climate Week, the former vice-president and established climate advocate, said that the Trump administration was “trying to create their own preferred version of reality”, akin to the Nazi party during the 1930s in Germany, Politico reported.

“I understand very well why it is wrong to compare Adolf Hitler’s Third Reich to any other movement,” said Gore during his speech at the city’s Exploratorium museum.
