Qatar’s Double Game: Funding Islamists While Pretending to Be America’s Ally

A recent meeting in Doha, Qatar, between the Palestinian group, Hamas, and Afghanistan’s Taliban, has served as yet another reminder of Qatar’s double game of harboring and sponsoring Islamic extremists while simultaneously pretending to be an ally of the US and other Western countries.

This meeting, which took place on October 26, was attended by Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh who, together with several officials from that Islamist group, relocated from the Gaza Strip to Qatar over the past few years.

Qatar uses gas to export Islam to Europe

The price of gas from the Middle East is high – in the long term.

Saudi Arabia (which is also financing the first mosque in Cuba at the moment) was the first stop on a recent tour of the German Chancellor Olaf Scholz which included the Emirates and Qatar.

Qatar Behind Hostile Israel Statements From American Universities

Students and faculty at American universities in Qatar issued strikingly similar condemnations of Israel during last month’s Hamas rocket attacks, one result of a longstanding Qatari campaign to shift U.S. public opinion.

Professors at Northwestern University’s Qatar campus issued a letter condemning Israel as an “apartheid” state that commits “crimes against humanity.” Georgetown University in Qatar followed suit. The Qatari government bankrolls these and other American schools, which are located in the capital city of Doha, through the Qatar Foundation, an arm of the regime aimed at promoting Qatari interests abroad.
