Even if the notwithstanding clause is required for its execution, the Coalition Avenir Québec (CAQ) is poised to pass a bill “to strengthen secularism in Quebec” — an expansion of Bill 21 — that will ban mass prayer in public areas. The law will also require immigrants to adopt Quebecers’ “shared values.”

Last December at a press conference, Premier François Legault announced his intention to confront the mass prayer issue head on. “I want to convey a very clear message to the Islamists,” Legault said. “The fundamental values we have in Quebec, like secularism, like equality between men and women, we will fight for them, and we will never, ever accept people disrespecting those fundamental values.”

David Smith Court is a housing complex in the suburbs of Reading. One of the five red-brick blocks consists solely of retirement flats with communal lounge and dining area, laundry room, hairdressing salon and gardens (where residents can opt to look after their own patch).

Many of those who live here are in their 70s, 80s, even 90s. So a more unlikely setting for controversy you would be hard-pressed to find.

Yet, as improbable as it may seem, the same frustration and anger fuelling much of the social unrest around Britain is being mirrored, in microcosm, in this genteel Home Counties retreat for the elderly.

ISIS Calls for ‘Shoot, Stab, and Ram’ Attacks on Christians and Jews in UK

Islamic State has issued a fresh call for terror attacks across Britain, the United States, Europe, and beyond, urging followers to target Christians, Jews, and their “allies” in what it calls revenge for Israel’s ongoing offensive in Gaza.

In an online message titled O Zealous Monotheists, ISIS spokesman Abu Hudhaifa al-Ansari told supporters to “chase your prey… in the streets and roads of precious America, Europe, and the world. Break into their homes, kill them, and punish them by any means you can.”

Syria: Al-Sharaa’s Campaign of Extermination against Druze, Minorities

On September 11, 2001, al-Qaeda terrorists hijacked four commercial airliners, flew them into the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center in New York City, the Pentagon and Shanksville, Pennsylvania, murdering approximately 3,000 people and wounding thousands of others.

In 2012, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi — the leader of ISIS — tasked Ahmed al-Sharaa (aka Abu Mohammad al-Julani) with forming a contingent of al-Qaeda in Syria. Sharaa then set up this al-Qaeda branch, naming it the Nusrah Front (Jabhat al-Nusra), and put into action taxing civilians, looting factories, and kidnapping civilians for hefty ransoms. At one point, the Nusrah Front was helping support the Islamic State (ISIS) in Iraq. In 2013, Sharaa declared the organization’s allegiance to al-Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahiri and expressed their “pride in the banner of the Islamic State in Iraq.”

Carney gov’t will only be “A Little Bit Pregnant” by Palestinian State

Canada’s recognition of Palestine will be a ‘step-by-step process,’ Anita Anand says

OTTAWA—Canada will recognize a Palestinian state at the United Nations later this month, Foreign Affairs Minister Anita Anand says, but will hold off fully normalizing diplomatic relations until there is real democratic progress from the Palestinian Authority.

Prime Minister Mark Carney announced Canada’s intention to recognize a Palestinian state in July, on the conditions that the Palestinian Authority commit to governance reforms, hold general elections in 2026 and demilitarize. He also said Hamas cannot be part of any future Palestinian government.

The Palestinian Authority, which controls the government in the West Bank, has promised elections but no dates have been set, and it has not yet met any of the other conditions.

Heartening to see the adults in the room are easing into their embrace of a murder cult.

Even Muslim countries think Britain has a problem with Islamism

Since Labour came to power, it has become clear that the battle against extremism has taken a back seat to political expediency. Labour has always had a counter-extremism problem, and after two decades of work I have done in this area which started post 7/7 under the Blair government, Labour continues to flounder in challenging Islamism in Britain.

This Government, it seems, is being straight-jacketed by Islamist loudmouths who have hijacked the public discourse space on who represents Muslims in the UK. These political extremists who have hijacked Islam continue to smear and threaten those within Muslim communities who dare to challenge their poisonous and divisive discourse. In the meantime, instead of supporting the Muslim voices who challenge Islamist organisations and their penumbra of supporters, this Government has opened its doors to these toxic groups in the mistaken belief that they are needed to placate Labour’s electoral base.

Australia’s Fantasy of Social Cohesion

In accordance with a policy of purported social cohesion and ostensibly to prevent “Islamophobia,” Australia’s Labor Party government, primarily represented by Foreign Minister Penny Wong, Home Affairs Minister Tony Burke, and Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, perturbingly appear to be minimizing the malignant, often violent Jew-hatred now occurring in the major cities of Australia.

While many acts of terror are being perpetrated against the Jewish community (here and here), the Australian government has been fast-tracking hundreds of potentially dangerous Palestinians into the country as refugees without proper vetting.

Sane Tribunal Ruling: Photo’s of hijabless Muslima not “intimate images”

Photos of a Muslim woman in which she is not wearing a hijab are not intimate images, a B.C. tribunal has ruled.

The Civil Resolution Tribunal published its decision on the case Friday, dismissing a claim for damages under B.C.’s Intimate Images Protection Act. The legislation allows people to seek up to $5,000 in compensation from individuals who share or threaten to share their intimate images without consent.

The woman, whose identity is anonymized under a publication ban, told the tribunal photos of her without her hijab were shared with court officials, some of whom were male, by her ex-husband in the course of a family law proceeding.
