Israeli Weapon Damaged Iranian Air Defenses Without Being Detected, Officials Say

An Israeli weapon deployed in a retaliatory strike against Iran on Friday damaged a defense system responsible for detecting and destroying aerial threats near Nantaz, a central Iranian city critical to the country’s secret nuclear weapons program, according to two Western officials and two Iranian officials.

The strike, the Western officials said, was calculated to deliver a message to Iran that Israel could bypass Iran’s defense systems undetected and paralyze them, using a fraction of the fire power Iran deployed last week when it launched hundreds of drones and missiles at Israel. That attack, intercepted by Israel and its allies, caused minimal damage.

Then you undergo anaesthesia and have an operation to retrieve the eggs. Then the embryos are made. Finally, you implant the embryos. It’s a long, expensive and involved process that can take a physical and emotional toll. At the end, you hope it’ll all be worth it. At the end, you hope there will be a baby.

Seattle teacher who said it’s ‘offensive’ to identify as straight now suspended for comments on Hamas terror attacks

A Seattle high school teacher previously accused of berating a student for describing himself as “straight” has been suspended for making pro-Hamas comments – including that the terror attack on Israel was justified and questioning whether women were raped.

Ian Golash, social studies chairman at Chief Sealth International High School, was placed on administrative leave on April 11 after Accuracy in Media, a conservative group that exposes antisemitism on campuses, distributed a video interview with him, the Seattle Times reported.

Hamas apologism has taken Australia by storm

Since the 7 October pogrom in Israel, it has become increasingly clear that hostility towards Israel is no longer confined to its Islamist enemies. It is increasingly prevalent in Western democracies, too.

This has certainly been true in Australia. Indeed, just days after Hamas committed atrocities in southern Israel, mobs stood on the steps of the Sydney Opera House, chanting ‘Gas the Jews!’. It set the tone for subsequent pro-Palestine protests, each one serenaded by the hateful chant, ‘From the river to the sea’. Israel has rarely been more threatened, and it has certainly never been so alone.

… Omar argued that campus demonstrations were merely “pro-war” or “anti-war,” but House Republican Conference Chair Rep. Elise Stefanik, R-N.Y., further pressed Shafik on whether she considered anti-Israel agitators’ chants of “F– the Jews” and “Death to the Jews” in fact anti-Jewish. US officials say Israel hit Iran with a missile overnight on Friday, in what appears to be a retaliatory strike after weeks of escalating tensions between the two countries.

There are competing claims about the scale of the attack on the Isfahan region and the extent of any damage, with Iranian state media downplaying its significance.

It comes after weeks of soaring tensions between the regional rivals, which have already seen an Israeli attack on an Iranian compound in Syria, and Iran launch an unprecedented assault against Israel.

Israel strikes Iran, defense officials confirm

Long-distance aircraft fired missiles that struck Iranian air force assets at Isfahan in central Iran early Friday morning, the Jerusalem Post has confirmed, with two Israeli defense officials and three Iranian officials confirming to The New York Times that Israel was involved.

This contradicts initial reports that the strike was carried out by long-range land-to-air attack missiles or drones, which Jerusalem also possesses.

Vote fails to overturn kaffiyeh ban in Ontario legislature

A ban on Palestinian kaffiyehs in the Ontario legislature will remain in place after a motion to overrule Speaker Ted Arnott’s edict failed to get unanimous consent from MPPs.

Arnott’s prohibition on the scarves, which he contended flout the rules against clothing that makes “an overt political statement,” will continue for MPPs, staff and guests throughout the legislative precinct.

But the Speaker, who oversees the legislature, emphasized nothing is written in stone and MPPs are free to bring forward another motion.
