Ontario reports 535 new COVID-19 cases today, 2 more virus-related deaths
Ontario is reporting more than 500 new COVID-19 cases today amid a continued drop in the average daily case count in the province.
Provincial health officials logged 535 new COVID-19 infections today, down from 654 on Saturday and 580 one week ago.
Confidence in COVID-19 vaccines among Ontarians remains stable: science group
In a brief released late Friday, the Ontario COVID-19 Science Advisory Table says confidence in COVID-19 vaccines has remained within the range of 72 per cent to 76 per cent.
The group says survey data from 28,660 Ontarians revealed that people with lower confidence in COVID-19 vaccines tend to have a lower household income, are more likely to be unable to work from home and self-identify as racialized.

A quarter of Americans indicated that they either are not getting the vaccine for the Chinese coronavirus, or they are not sure, and a majority of those who remain unvaccinated say they will not get the shot, a Yahoo! News/YouGov survey released this week found.

The Human Resource order comes down to you with ferocity: get the vaccine or lose your office access and eventually your job. You are stunned. You had heard that the Biden administration was favoring this but your company has only 150 employees and it lives entirely within the private sector. Surely this cannot be right. Surely there is a way to fight back. Maybe a lawsuit against the mandate is in order.
The HR department says it is only following federal guidelines. So you look for them. You look again and again. Somehow nothing turns up. You can find plenty of statements by Biden and administration spokespeople. You can find hundreds of news stories about the impending regulation. There is no shortage of blustering talk.
What you cannot find is an executive order from the Biden administration. You can find no directive at all. How can something be challenged that doesn’t actually seem to exist?

The new COVID-19 policy will take effect on Oct. 25, Saskatchewan Government Insurance (SGI) announced on Thursday morning.
“Providing proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test is now standard practice to access many businesses, services, and venues,” said Penny McCune, chief operating officer for SGI’s Auto Fund. “This will improve safety for our customers and employees.”
The CDC has verified there is vaccinated asymptomatic transmission. Nothing make sense anymore.

Have you noticed how events in Canada have really moved in only one direction?

Acting Senior Sergeant Krystle Mitchell has appeared on The Discernible Interviews channel on YouTube on Friday, wearing her dark-blue uniform and revealing that she had been “troubled” by how police resources have been applied during the pandemic by state authorities.

China’s President Xi Jinping has said that “reunification” with Taiwan “must be fulfilled”, as heightened tensions over the island continue.
Mr Xi said unification should be achieved peacefully, but warned that the Chinese people had a “glorious tradition” of opposing separatism.
In response, Taiwan said its future lay in the hands of its people.
Taiwan considers itself a sovereign state, while China views it as a breakaway province.
There are at least three levels of crazy here:
1. She was suspended from school for not wearing a mask.
2. She was arrested and jailed for it.
3. THEY PUT THE ENTIRE SCHOOL ON LOCKDOWN.
And all this in the reddest red state. https://t.co/rwJ7xRM341

Ontario reports 654 new COVID-19 cases as capacity limits lifted in select settings
Ontario reported more than 650 new COVID-19 cases and two more deaths on Saturday as the province lifted capacity limits for select indoor and outdoor settings.
Provincial health officials logged 654 new infections today, a notable jump from 573 cases on Friday but down from 702 cases reported a week ago.
Ask family members if they’re vaccinated before inviting to Thanksgiving, top doctors say
Canada’s top doctors say you should ask your family members if they’ve been vaccinated against COVID-19 before you invite them over for Thanksgiving dinner.
Depending on their answer, they added, you might want to change your plans, move dinner outside, or add extra precautions to your event.
“Our advice really is that, overall, keep indoor gatherings safer by asking your guests … your family… whether they’ve been vaccinated or not,” said Chief Public Health Officer Dr. Theresa Tam.
Like we need advice from that buzzard.

Exempted employees include call centre operators, federal judges, meat inspectors, park wardens, postal workers, tax auditors, Commons and Senate staff, soldiers, sailors and air crew and members of the public entering federal buildings.
Betcha they’ll be given special dispensation to enter businesses and events that require proof of vaccinations.
Government forcing employees working from home to be vaccinated, or universities requiring it for students taking online courses, is proof that it has nothing to do with the science. It’s a witch hunt.

They are separating the compliant from the noncompliant.

In a letter sent yesterday to the union representing TTC workers, first obtained by the Toronto Star, the TTC said it was delaying the signup sheet for shifts next week due to a potential worker shortage as a result of the mandatory vaccination policy.

The first COVID-19 vaccine for kids under 12 could be in front of Health Canada’s review team in just days, and Pfizer expects to start shipping a new pediatric formulation of its vaccine shortly after it gets the green light.

Political pundit Megyn Kelly pinned the “f***ers” who “lied” to people about the origins of the coronavirus .
In addition to China , she criticized the Biden administration and EcoHealth Alliance President Peter Daszak for the millions of deaths due to the pandemic. Daszak, a zoologist, worked with the Wuhan Institute of Virology and reportedly allocated U.S. government grants to facilities conducting gain-of-function research.
