Auditors allege Muslim Association of Canada charity helped Hamas financier

A government audit of one of Canada’s largest Muslim charities alleges some of its directors and employees were involved in “an apparent Hamas support network.”

Canada Revenue Agency auditors cited the “troubling” allegation as one of the reasons it felt there were grounds to revoke the charity status of the Muslim Association of Canada.

The March 2021 audit document, obtained by Global News, details the concerns the CRA charities branch raised about the federally-funded Muslim Association of Canada (MAC).

Mélanie Joly visiting Israel to push for Gaza humanitarian aid passage …. to shore up Hamas vote bloc in Canada

OTTAWA – Canada’s foreign affairs minister has arrived in Tel Aviv as she visits Israel and Jordan to hold talks on the impacts of Hamas’ attack on Israel and the deteriorating humanitarian situation in Gaza.

Global Affairs Canada says in a statement that Minister Mélanie Joly travelled to the Middle East through Greece, the destination of the first two airlifts of Canadians out of Israel.

The statement says Joly will “reaffirm Canada’s support for Israel and its right to defend itself in accordance with international law,” while pushing forward collective efforts to ensure the swift passage of humanitarian aid and the protection of both Israeli and Palestinian civilians.

When Canadian Troops Booed Their Prime Minister

It doesn’t often happen that soldiers boo their political leaders. For one thing it is beyond disrespectful for military members to show contempt in public toward those to whom they are subordinate in a liberal democracy. Even if troops dislike a particular politician, or disdain politicians in general, it is a gross breach of discipline to show it publicly.

But that is what happened to William Lyon Mackenzie King during the Second World War. It’s a dubious distinction.

Any Canadian Muslims who voted for Justin Trudeau should be shamed, says a longtime imam in Victoria who on Wednesday called Israel “a terrorist, illegal, occupying, settler, murdering, apartheid state.”

Younos Kathrada, head of Muslim Youth of Victoria, this week used his public Facebook platform to attack “sellout imams” who have stood ”front and centre” in photos with Trudeau. One of Kathrada’s followers comments: “May Allah give him (Trudeau) what he deserves.”

Ottawa extending amnesty for ‘assault-style’ firearms again, until October 2025

OTTAWA – The federal Liberal government says it will extend an amnesty order on guns it prohibited in the wake of the deadly 2020 Nova Scotia shooting rampage for an extra two years.

Public Safety Canada quietly posted the extension on its website about the yet-to-be-developed firearms buyback program, saying the amnesty period that was set to expire at the end of the month will remain in place until Oct. 30, 2025.

Canada Increasingly Being Left Behind on Allies’ Joint Actions

The latest crisis to shake the planet, Hamas’s terrorist attack against Israel last weekend, has provided one more indication that Canada is increasingly being left out of its allies’ joint actions.

In a joint statement following the attack, leaders of a subgroup of five of the G7 countries, known as the Quint, expressed their “steadfast and united support to the State of Israel” and their “unequivocal condemnation of Hamas and its appalling acts of terrorism.” The signatories included the United States, the UK, France, Germany, and Italy.

New facts emerge from decades-old war crimes study

OTTAWA – When an individual suspected of taking part in the Second World War murder of Jews in western Ukraine applied for admission to Canada in 1951, immigration officials did not follow up with potential witnesses who might have provided crucial details.

In another case, a Slovak leader hoping to unite émigrés under his leadership was allowed to visit Canada repeatedly in the 1950s and ’60s, despite a record of war crimes.

In 1962, the RCMP learned that a Soviet trial of concentration camp guards in what is now called Belarus had named two people living in Canada as active participants in the execution of civilians during the war.

Should Government help 70 Canadians stuck in Gaza? Hell No!

OTTAWA – Around 70 Canadians are stuck in the Gaza Strip and have asked for help, federal government officials said Wednesday, but the Canadian government has no way of reaching them without a humanitarian corridor.

For Canadian citizens, permanent residents and their families seeking to leave Israel as violent clashes continue, military flights from Tel Aviv to Athens could begin as early as Thursday evening local time.

Officials who spoke with reporters on background Wednesday afternoon said approximately 1,000 Canadian citizens and permanent residents in Israel, Gaza and the West Bank have asked for consular help and about 700 of them want to get on a flight out.

Repeat Offender: Senior federal public servant faces possible disciplinary action for anti-Israel remarks

The Privy Council Office has launched an internal investigation into a senior public servant for posting anti-Israel sentiments on social media in the aftermath of the massacre of civilians by Hamas gunmen.

Nisam Siddiqui, a former senior analyst at PCO who is now listed as a senior adviser at the Department of Fisheries and Oceans, accused Canada and other Western countries of aiding Israel in “war crimes and crimes against humanity” against Palestinians in Gaza.

It’s the second time this bigot has been called on the carpet. He still has a job of course.
