Ontario reports 4,362 new COVID-19 cases and 34 deaths; hospitalizations top 2,000

Ontario reported more than 4,300 new COVID-19 cases on Saturday, as those hospitalized with the virus topped 2,000 for the first time in the pandemic.

Provincial health officials reported 4,362 new coronavirus cases and 34 additional deaths today, the highest single-day death count since 47 fatalities were recorded on Feb. 19.

Ontario’s new COVID-19 restrictions have science ‘absolutely upside-down,’ experts say

A leading epidemiologist is slamming some aspects of the Ontario government’s decision to double down on COVID-19 restrictions Friday, saying that Premier Doug Ford has the science behind his soon-to-be-enacted measures “absolutely upside-down.”

University of Toronto professor Dr. David Fisman expressed his frustration in an interview with Global News shortly after the premier’s press conference, where he announced more COVID-19 restrictions aimed at slowing down the record-setting spread of new cases in the province.

“The reason it’s so frustrating to hear stuff like this is he’s got the science absolutely upside-down,” he said.

You missed the UGG-Patrisse Cullors ‘Eff White Supremacy’ Electric Slide!

When last you heard about Black Lives Matter founder Patrisse Cullors, it was because news broke that she’s not just a “trained Marxist,” but also a real estate maven, owning four high-end properties in predominantly White neighborhoods.  But did you know that she’s also an “Electric Slide line dance” queen?  And that the fuzzy, ugly UGG shoes you wear during the winter are her dance partners in this terpsichorean effort?  The alliance between BLM and American corporations is strong.

Canada: J-Space Supports NDP Party’s BDS Resolution to Actively Campaign Against ‘Illegal Settlements’

J-Space is known as a “respectable,” “Progressive” Jewish voice in Canada. It is more or less the counterpart to J-Street in America. Several days ago, the New Democratic Party (NDP) in Canada passed an anti-Israel, BDS-supporting Resolution, 04-10-20 (Justice and Peace in Israel-Palestine), at its 2021 Convention. J-Space supported it.

The Left runs Joe Biden — not the other way around

The President is bending over backwards to satisfy the Democrats’ ‘woke’ wing

“It is the problem of the society that produces the racist,” U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Linda Thomas-Greenfield told the National Action Network this week. “And in today’s world, that’s every society.” Said America’s envoy in Turtle Bay: “White supremacy is weaved into our founding documents and principles.”

‘You’re a guest in a BLACK SPACE’: BLM activists tell white ‘ally’ at Minnesota protest ‘YOU DON’T BELONG’

A white protester who joined in a Black Lives Matter demonstration over Sunday’s police shooting in suburban Minneapolis apparently overstepped his bounds, being told to leave for failing to be a proper guest “in a black space.”

Footage from Thursday night’s protest in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, shows a confrontation between a group of black protestors and a young white man. Washington Examiner journalist Nic Rowan, who posted the video on Twitter, said the conflict began after a group of white protesters told demonstrators to stop throwing water bottles at police.

Big Business Joins the Other Crumbling Pillars of Society

As with all the other pillars of traditional America, business has gone horribly wrong.

What a pitiful trajectory the woke leaders of large American corporations have traced as American business, once a pillar of American society and political science, has crumbled along with other pillars as if in a choreographed sequence.

The senior levels of national intelligence and the Justice Department were tainted in the nonsense about collusion between Donald Trump’s 2016 campaign and Russia in 2016. Academia, apparently down to kindergarten, largely has been transformed into a massive brainwashing operation to convince the country’s youth that the United States is hateful and racist. The national political media have failed catastrophically and all surveys show that over 80 percent of Americans don’t believe a word they read or hear from that source. Any sector of American society which has done such savage violence to its own franchise will pay dearly for it commercially.

Shorter Public Health: We Were Already Screwed So Why Bother Screening Flights From Brazil For Vaccine Resistant P1 Variant

Growing outbreaks of the Brazilian COVID-19 variant in Canada prompted health officials to quietly cease enhanced screening measures for travellers arriving from the South American nation.

In a statement sent to the Sun, the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) said the extra screening didn’t seem necessary as the infectious and increasingly vaccine-resistant variant of concern (VOC) had already gained a significant foothold in this country.

Oh! Oh! South African variant cases rise amid reports several infected people have had a Covid vaccine dose

Rex Murphy: O’Toole is digging a political Grand Canyon there will be no getting out of

“I, Erin O’Toole, promise that, if elected Prime Minister of Canada, I will: Immediately repeal the Trudeau carbon tax; and, reject any future national carbon tax or cap-and-trade scheme.” — A Canadian Taxpayers Federation pledgesigned by Erin O’Toole when soliciting support for his bid to lead the Conservative party.

Last seen falling off his horse on the road to Green Damascus, Erin O’Toole is thought by many to be the leader of a party known as Conservative.

Canada has right to turn back asylum-seekers at U.S. land border points, appeals court rules

Canada has right to turn back asylum-seekers at U.S. land border points, appeals court rules

In a setback for refugee advocates, the Federal Court of Appeal has rejected the argument that it is unconstitutional for Canada to turn back refugees at the U.S. land border and prevent them from seeking asylum in this country.

The court sided with the federal government Thursday in overturning a lower court decision that had called into question the future of the Safe Third Country Agreement (STCA), amid arguments that the United States cannot be considered a safe country for asylum seekers.

The decision will have devastating effects on would-be refugee claimants, their advocates say.

The police shooting death of Daunte Wright is, once again, not what the media are saying it is

It’s unclear whether liberals are hopelessly naive about the job police officers do or whether they just simply hate law enforcement.

Either way, the result is the same — we’re all less safe, and that is especially true of nonwhites.

Columbia University professor (eye roll, I know) Sarah Seo weighed in on the recent police shooting death of 20-year-old black man Daunte Wright, opining in the New York Times that “traffic stops should not be harrowing or dangerous experiences, but too often they are for people of color.”

Diane Francis: Liberal vaccine failures could be the biggest scandal in Canadian history

Trudeau’s made-in-Canada vaccine roll-out debacle may become the biggest scandal in Canadian history because lives are involved.

As of April 15, 22.7 per cent of all Americans were fully vaccinated (or received two doses) and another 38.6 per cent have received their first dose. That is roughly 251 million doses. By contrast, Canada has only provided 8.5 million doses, most of which will be reduced in effectiveness because of the Trudeau government’s decision to delay the second dose by 16 weeks, contrary to pharma-company instructions.
