California’s License to shoplift: Two thieves brazenly stroll out of TJ Maxx with armfuls of clothes

Two men casually walked out of a Los Angeles area TJ Maxx with their arms full of what appears to be stolen goods as brazen shoplifters continue to rampage through California retail stores.

Viral video posted earlier this week shows two men carrying armfuls of jeans, jackets and other apparel as they casually saunter out of a TJ Maxx in the Granada Hills section of the San Fernando Valley north of Los Angeles.

‘That looks great,’ one man is heard saying in the video as the two men head toward the door with the stolen loot, making no haste as they leave.

Struggle for control of Green party heads to court

OTTAWA — This fight isn’t over.

Two days after Annamie Paul applauded the abrupt halt of threats to her leadership from top officials in her own party, the Green Party of Canada filed an application in Ontario Superior Court on Wednesday that seeks to revive them.

The application reveals that Paul won a reprieve from attempts to depose her through a legal arbitration process relating to her employment contract with the Green party.

The party is now trying to get that decision overturned in court.

Dozens of arrests as encampment eviction turns violent

Police and activists clashed on Wednesday while a homeless encampment was cleared out of a downtown park.

After spending the morning urging between 14 and 17 holdouts occupying a portion of Lamport Stadium Park, near King and Dufferin Sts., the city made good on its promise to enforce trespass notices issued last month.

These appear to be “activist” lead altercations. For once Tory has done the right thing, thank goodness for internal polling.

Ontario’s COVID-19 Science Advisory Table released a 21-page brief Wednesday afternoon suggesting that the province’s power brokers issue a “vaccine certificate” to help differentiate between those who’ve gotten both of their shots — and those who haven’t.　

For Ontarians in the soon to be Hermit Kingdom of Canada this will be an internal passport only as our mix and match vaccines are not widely accepted by the outside world.

Tommy Robinson loses High Court libel case

Anti-Islam activist Tommy Robinson has lost a High Court libel case brought by a Syrian schoolboy.

Jamal Hijazi was filmed being attacked in the playground at Almondbury School in Huddersfield in October 2018.

The English Defence League founder, whose real name is Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, claimed Mr Hijazi attacked “young English girls”.

Mr Justice Nicklin ruled in Mr Hijazi’s favour and granted him £100,000 in damages.

There are teething troubles on day one of France’s controversial health pass for accessing public places. Outside Montpellier’s main art gallery, the Musée Fabre, a security guard squints at a visitor’s smartphone. “I can’t see your pass,” he says. The visitor tries shielding it from the severe Mediterranean sun: “I don’t see anything either. I can’t even see whether my phone’s unlocked or not.”

From Wednesday, showing either a health pass, or proof of a negative PCR test dated to within 48 hours, is obligatory in France for anyone wishing to access any cultural or leisure facilities with a capacity of more than 50 people. This includes cinemas, art galleries, libraries, museums, sports centres and work-related events. Cafes, restaurants and trains will fall under the measures at the beginning of August.

A transgender police officer with the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey sued the agency over allegations he was referred to in a discriminatory way as “it” and “transvestite” by colleagues.

Feds detail alleged Chinese cyberattacks on American pipelines starting in 2011

The Biden administration has revealed new details of Chinese cyberattacks on American critical infrastructure starting nearly a decade ago, amid an ongoing effort to expose what the U.S. and its allies say is the extent of China’s malicious cyber actions aimed at the U.S. and other foreign targets.

China-sponsored attackers targeted U.S. oil and gas companies from December 2011 to 2013 in order to develop the cyberattack capabilities needed to disrupt and damage U.S. pipeline operations, according to an alert issued Tuesday from FBI and the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency. The federal government said it previously informed victims and others of the cyberattacks in 2012 but had not made public the full details until this week.
