Is America Ready for Chinese-Russian Liminal Warfare?

Over the past five years, most Americans have become familiar with what leading journalists and academics have termed, the new era of “Great Power Competition”: a reference to the increasingly complex and worrisome armed stand-off between the United States (and its allies), and China and Russia—the two leading authoritarian powers. The alarming genocidal war launched in February 2022 by Russia against Ukraine has awakened us to the reality that our expectations at the end of the Cold War in 1991 were delusional and foolish. It is not apparent that the universal appeal of the democratic idea will not spontaneously enable a benign New World Order to take shape.

Putin’s shameful abuse of history

Portraying Ukraine as the successor to Nazi Germany is a contemptible, dehumanising slur.

Standing this morning before Russian soldiers and tanks, in Red Square in Moscow, president Vladimir Putin used his Victory Day speech to justify the invasion of Ukraine. He told Russian soldiers that they were ‘fighting for the same thing their fathers and grandfathers did’ – for ‘the Motherland’.

Woman who had a mastectomy and took male hormones for six years is DE-TRANSITIONING back to being female after realizing being a man ‘didn’t represent who she is’

At the age of 18, one woman found that she was not comfortable in the body she was born in and began the journey of transitioning to male.

Now, after spending six years completing the process, Alia Ismail, 27, from Michigan, is de-transitioning back to female after realising that her new identity did not represent who she was.

Alia began to use male pronouns and dress more masculine at 18, undergoing a medical transition at the age of 20, and taking hormones to increase testosterone.

New Leftist Talking Point: It Won’t Stop With Abortion; the Right Is Going to Take All Our Toys Away

A setback triggers leftist hysteria and doom.

The Left is in an apocalyptic mood after the leak of Justice Samuel Alito’s draft opinion that may, if the intimidation campaign that the leakers were hoping to provoke doesn’t succeed, herald the end of Roe v. Wade. If the Supreme Court really does overturn Roe, it won’t even mean the end of legal abortion, as the states would be free to make their own laws concerning the practice. But Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-Ditzville) and Eric Swalwell (D-Fang Fang) want you to believe that this is just the beginning of a MAGA wave so large that it threatens to drown every pet Leftist cause and then some. According to these and other hysterical Leftists, Alito’s draft decision, which may not end up being anything close to the majority decision at all, is just the beginning of a movement of conservative meanies who are going to destroy everything the Left holds dear. Hey, we can always hope!

Pentagon cites reports Russian military has ‘refused to obey orders’ in Donbas

There have been “anecdotal reports” that some Russian military members have refused orders from their superiors in Ukraine, according to a senior U.S. defense official.

The new details emanating from the Pentagon on Monday come as Russia continues its unsuccessful attempts to capture the Donbas region in eastern Ukraine, where Russian separatists and Ukrainian nationalists have fought for eight years.

The Exasperated American

Will the voters channel their furor at this regime of lies into an unprecedented turnout at the polls in November?

Alarge majority of Americans now have no confidence in Joe Biden and his administration, which often polls below 40 percent, with negatives nearing 60 percent.

Despite the 15-month catastrophe of his regime, the level of his own unpopularity remains understandable but still remarkable. After all, in 2020 voters already knew well of his cognitive deficits and the radicalism of his agenda. They saw both clearly starting in 2019 and during the 2020 Democratic primaries, the primary debates, and the general election.

OK, St Greta, you’ve won

I KNOW one person who will be just loving this Cost of Living Crisis, and that person is Greta Thunberg. You remember St Greta, dear reader? Of course you do, how could you forget her? She is the climate change activist that British politicians were falling over themselves to get to back in 2019, when she was 16. She came to Britain to trash our energy policy, and I tell you the MPs just could not get enough of her.

Bill Gates wants to build a dystopia

The multi-billionaire says one thing, and funds another

It’s not easy being a regular multi-billionaire. Bill Gates used to be the simple guy-in-the-mansion next door, worried about virus outbreaks and global warming. Then, during the pandemic he became the point at which all conspiracy theories met.

Ever since March 2020, the memes have spread. Was Gates a mass murderer with a global depopulation agenda? Was he a “biofascist” seeking control over the world’s population through vaccine passports and microchips?

BLM co-founder Patrisse Cullors admits using $6M mansion for parties

Black Lives Matter co-founder Patrisse Cullors has admitted to throwing two parties at the organization’s swanky $6 million Los Angeles mansion — despite previously suggesting she’d never used the property for personal gain.

The 38-year-old told the Associated Press on Monday that she hosted her son’s birthday party and a gathering to celebrate President Biden’s inauguration at the six-bedroom property early last year.

Douglas Todd: Why Canadian wages never seem to go up

There is a startling admission buried in Chart #28 of the budget released this month by Canada’s Liberal government.

The chart in Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland’s budget quietly acknowledges a forecast by the OECD, a club of mostly wealthy nations, that Canada will likely come in dead last in the next four decades in regard to GDP growth per capita.

The downplayed chart, one tiny aspect of the 304-page document, serves as a warning that individual Canadians, compared to the citizens of 39 other economically advanced countries, will in the next decades likely suffer the lowest real growth in their wages.

The diversity monster is loose

DEI will only die when we realize no good can come from racial resentment

Monsters, of course, come in a variety of shapes and forms, but they have some deep commonalities. Among these are a voracious appetite, an affinity for darkness, and a talent for evasion. They are hard to kill and very dangerous, especially to the innocent and the naïve. Often they inspire a perverse kind of worship.

I have been thinking about monsters as I contemplate the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) mandates that have swept through the nation’s schools, colleges, and businesses, and nearly every other institution of note. The National Archives has a “Diversity and Inclusion Program.” So does Major League Baseball. So does the American Public Gardens Association.

One is hard put to find a significant public body that is not committed to DEI.

Won’t Get Fooled Again: After the pandemic, Americans should never let public-health authorities deprive them of their liberties.

More than a century ago, Mark Twain identified two fundamental problems that would prove relevant to the Covid pandemic. “How easy it is to make people believe a lie,” he wrote, “and how hard it is to undo that work again!” No convincing evidence existed at the start of the pandemic that lockdowns, school closures, and mask mandates would protect people against the virus, but it was remarkably easy to make the public believe that these policies were “the science.” Today, thanks to two years of actual scientific evidence, it’s clearer than ever that these were terrible mistakes; yet most people still believe that the measures were worthwhile—and many are eager to maintain some mandates even longer.

Europe’s Gas Conundrum

… Europe has managed to reduce its need for Russian oil quickly for a couple of reasons. Oil can easily be delivered by tanker, not just pipelines, and it is relatively easy to find new supplies on the world market. The problem is that it is also relatively easy to find enough new buyers – and Russia has plenty – to offset a large part of the losses from an EU embargo.

Gas is different. Europe needs natural gas to provide heat in winter and to serve as feedstock for the world’s largest chemical industry, which accounts for a significant share of EU exports. And certain features of the natural-gas market will make it far more difficult and costlier to find alternatives to Russian supplies than it has been for oil.

Sweden Would Strengthen the NATO Alliance

The Swedes need little proof of Russia’s disregard for the sovereignty of nation states.

Several Russian fighter aircraft were intercepted near NATO airspace over the Baltic and Black Seas several times in late April by alliance Quick Reaction Alert (QRA) warplanes. On April 29, a Russian spy plane also violated Sweden’s sovereign airspace. NATO fighter interceptors from Denmark, Poland, Spain, and France responded to the Russian challenge over Baltic Sea airspace. Romanian and British fighters intercepted Russian aircraft over the Black Sea.

NATO already has a Muslim member state in Turkey.
