Canadian university says economics professor position only open to applicants who ‘self-identify as Black’

A Canadian university is only accepting applicants who “self-identify as Black” for a tenure track teaching position in economics.

Toronto Metropolitan University posted the job listing for a tenure track position in applied microeconomics or economics on Nov. 21 and states on its website that the school is “committed to addressing the underrepresentation of Black faculty.”

The university formerly known as Ryerson is a bad joke.

Vicar fears ‘witchcraft’ after hanging cat left at church

The vicar of a church previously targeted by suspected satanists fears more “sinister” goings-on after dead animals were discovered by worshippers.

The Rev David Bacon raised the prospect of “witchcraft” after ladies coming to clean the church found a cat hanging “horribly” from a flagpole.

A dead fox was left on the doorstep of the 12th-century St Peter’s Church in Bramshaw, Hampshire, a few weeks ago.

‘Road sleeping’ deaths soar in Tokyo as socialising returns to pre-Covid levels

I must one day visit Japan. Cat Island calls.

The end of Covid-19 restrictions on Japan’s nighttime economy has brought more people out on to the streets of Tokyo – but it could also be contributing to a spate of deaths among people who are struck by cars as they sleep on the road.

The number of deaths among people who sleep where they drop on the capital’s roads has nearly doubled from last year, from seven to 13, according to police.

Concern is rising that the death toll will rise again over the coming fortnight, as office workers get together to mark the end of the year at alcohol-fuelled bonenkai parties – a custom many shunned during the pandemic.

New poll shows majority of young people are stupid

Tories maintain lead over Liberals as gap slightly widens, new poll shows

A new poll suggests the Tories still have a small lead over the governing Liberals and have slightly widened the gap.

… Younger voters were most likely to support New Democrats. A full third of those aged 18 to 34 said they would vote for the party, while 28 per cent would vote Liberal and 22 per cent Conservative.

Bank of Canada to Consult Canadians on Digital Currency in 2023, Says Governor

Apocalypse of Angers tapestry: Dragons Vomiting Frogs

The Bank of Canada is moving out of its research phase into a central bank digital currency and going into the development phase, its governor said on Dec. 12, with consultations on the issue to take place with Canadians in 2023.

“I think over time, it is conceivable that in a more digital economy, it might make sense to give Canadians the ability to hold central bank money in digital format. So we’re making sure we’re getting ready,” Bank of Canada (BoC) Governor Tiff Macklem said in his year-end address hosted by the Business Council of British Columbia.

And just like that you were absorbed.

Drag queen invited to White House for marriage equality bill signing tweeted ‘The kids are out to sing and suck d!’

Twisted old pig invites degenerates to White House.

Among those who attended the White House’s ceremony for the signing of the legislation codifying same-sex marriage were two drag queens, one of whom once tweeted: ‘The kids are out to sing and suck d!’

Another performed for a group of kids in a church in New York in August where ‘social pressure’ was put on students of Grace School to enjoy the show.

It’s enough to make you wish the heavens would open and rain hell-fire on the Biden White House.

Twitter Files reveal woke staffers banned Trump but let Iranian Ayatollah call Israel ‘cancerous tumor’ and Malaysian PM say Muslims had ‘right’ to kill millions

The latest drop of Twitter files showed how the social media company banned President Trump after the January 6 riots, while dictators were allowed to remain on the platform and promote mass violence and genocide.

While Twitter executives decided Trump’s use of the phrase ‘American patriots’ could be a ‘coded incitement to further violence’ and banned him for it, they did nothing when the Iranian Ayatollah and the prime minster of Malaysia explicitly advocated slaughtering millions of lives.

The disturbing revelations came to light on Monday as journalists Bari Weiss and Matt Taibbi continue to come through a trove of Twitter’s internal files and communications that Elon Musk released as a part of his mission to return the platform to a sanctuary of free speech.

A Computer Can Now Write Your College Essay — Maybe Better Than You Can

We fed ChatGPT, OpenAI’s new natural language tool, college essay questions for the 2022-2023 academic year. Here’s what it wrote.

OpenAI debuted its latest language model, called ChatGPT, to the public last week. With a simple log in, anyone can talk to the AI for free, and, unlike its predecessor InstructGPT, ChatGPT can answer follow-up questions, admit mistakes, reject inappropriate requests and challenge inaccuracies. The buzzy new AI has already inspired a flurry of articles about what it can—and can’t—do, from creating a new language for slime beings called Glorp, to detecting vulnerabilities in code, to writing a biblical verse about how to remove a peanut butter sandwich from a VCR.

FTX fraudster Sam Bankman-Fried BEGS Bahamas judge to grant him bail because he’s too ‘depressed and vegan for jail’

A Bahamian judge is allowing Sam Bankman-Fried’s parents to leave court in the middle of his arraignment hearing to retrieve anti-depressants, Adderall and Zyrtec.

Bankman-Fried is accused of one of the ‘biggest financial frauds in American history’ – defrauding investors out of $1.8billion by convincing them his trading platform FTX was safe to use.

He is begging for mercy – asking for $250,000 cash bond – and claiming he can’t be thrown in jail because he is depressed and follows a vegan diet.
