EV Owners Waking Up to the Nightmare of Massive Repair Bills

“Sticker shock” has taken on a whole new meaning when new electric vehicle owners get their first repair bill following a simple fender bender. The Wall Street Journal reports that a San Francisco resident got in a minor accident with his electric truck. He thought that repairs would be “a couple-thousand-dollar bill from the repair shop and to be without his truck for a couple of weeks.”

Instead, the first-time EV owner was shocked to get a $22,000 bill for repairs that took 2 1/2 months.

Cop28 president says there is ‘no science’ behind demands for phase-out of fossil fuels

The president of Cop28, Sultan Al Jaber, has claimed there is “no science” indicating that a phase-out of fossil fuels is needed to restrict global heating to 1.5C, the Guardian and the Centre for Climate Reporting can reveal.

Al Jaber also said a phase-out of fossil fuels would not allow sustainable development “unless you want to take the world back into caves”.

The comments were “incredibly concerning” and “verging on climate denial”, scientists said, and they were at odds with the position of the UN secretary general, António Guterres.

NBC’s entertainment correspondent Chloe Melas intended to do a report on how people on both sides of Hollywood’s Israel-Hamas War debate are facing blowback for their opinions for Saturday’s edition of Today. However, what she actually ended up doing was lamenting that Hollywood’s anti-Semites are facing consequences for their actions by making false equivalency between Holocaust distortion and false accusations of genocide by Israel with Israel supporters comparing Hamas to ISIS.

Dozens of Iranian regime officials denied entry to Canada, says border agency

Don’t believe a thing this lying punk says.

The Canada Border Services Agency has denied entry to dozens of senior Iranian regime officials and is investigating about 100 people with status in Canada for potential ties to Tehran.

The agency also has referred the cases of nine individuals with status in Canada to the Immigration and Refugee Board to determine their admissibility to Canada.

The denials at the border and the investigations stem from a measure the Liberal government adopted last year in the midst of widespread protests in Iran over the death of Mahsa Amini, a 22-year-old Kurdish-Iranian woman. Amini died while in the custody of Iran’s “morality police.”

Muslim-American voter group vows to ‘Abandon Biden’ over Gaza war

Muslim-American leaders from nine swing states — livid at President Biden for siding with Israel in its war against Hamas terrorists — launched a campaign Saturday to boot the commander-in-chief from the White House.

“We are announcing today that President Biden has lost the 2024 election,” organizer Jaylai Hussein, head of the newly formed #AbandonBiden National Coalition, said at a conference in a Hampton Inn in Dearborn, Mich.

As reported in the National Post on Wednesday, the Ontario Court of Appeal has decided in a unanimous 3-0 decision that a mandatory math exam for Ontario teachers isn’t unconstitutionally racist after all. A couple of months ago, a panel of the province’s divisional court obliterated the exam requirement introduced in 2021 on the basis, still relatively novel in Canadian law, of the “disparate impact” of an ostensibly race-neutral law on Black and Aboriginal teachers.

History lecturer claims Britain did not abolish slavery

An under-fire lecturer who was accused of besmirching a hero of the Industrial Revolution has mocked the idea that Britain abolished slavery.

Dr Jenny Bulstrode of University College London (UCL) has already prompted a weeks-long academic dispute over her claim that Henry Cort stole his groundbreaking iron-making process from Jamaican slaves, with Oxbridge professors dismissing her account as a “fairy tale” and a correction subsequently being issued by the prestigious journal that published her work.

Now, another war of words has flared over her “historically stupid” suggestion that Britain did not abolish the slave trade, in an interview to promote her controversial paper.

Jewish teacher returns to NYC school after riot, has ‘raw’ talks with pro-Palestine students

The Jewish teacher forced to hide in an office at a Queens high school while 400 teens rioted against her sought to make peace with pro-Palestine students when she returned this week, telling them, “I stand with the people of Israel, but I do not stand with Israel’s government,” they told The Post.

In classroom conversations, when students asked the teacher if she supported “the genocide of Palestinians,” she told them she did not endorse the violence in Gaza, said a ninth-grade girl in her class.
