The Time to Call Anti-Semitism Terrorism Is Well Past Due

Well, this should come as no surprise to anyone. Unidentified gunmen fired shots from a dark-coloured vehicle at the Bais Chaya Mushka, a school for Jewish girls in the Greater Toronto Area, in the early hours of May 25.  These “heroes” fled immediately afterward and thankfully no one was injured.

The ever-helpful CBC won’t mention the “T” word as a possible motive (Toronto police are not ruling out terrorism at this stage but stress the investigation is ongoing and involves both the guns and gangs task force as well as the hate crime unit). For its part, the Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs calls it a “clear, calculated and premeditated targeting of a Jewish school for girls,” adding, “the fact a school was targeted regardless of whether kids were present or not represents another worrying escalation in the violence Jewish Canadians have been experiencing.”

We live in a nation where over 100 Christian churches have been burned down or vandalized and virtually nothing has been done about it because hating Christians in Canada, especially if they’re white has been made acceptable by our government, media and academics. 

No to the politization of “Antisemitism” as terrorism.

We have laws on the books covering hate crimes. Make the powers that be enforce them.

Calgary Philharmonic removes two musicians after month-long investigation over ‘troubling comments’

The Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra has removed two of its musicians, two sources say, a month after it launched an investigation into what it called “deeply troubling comments posted online.”

In a statement on April 22 announcing the investigation, the orchestra said it was following its code of conduct and working alongside the Calgary Musicians Association union to “urgently” look into the comments, without clarifying their content or author.

Mexico City’s water ‘Day Zero’ may come even for the wealthiest residents

MEXICO CITY — Raquel Campos’ water issues started in January, when her condo building’s manager sent residents a message saying that the city hadn’t delivered water to its cistern. Four days later, taps in the upscale residence went dry.

Campos has lived in the wealthy Polanco neighborhood for 18 years and said she has never experienced water issues like this. Her husband paid to shower at a nearby hotel and she called water delivery companies that were overwhelmed with a sudden deluge of requests from the neighborhood. The water in Campos’ building came back within a few days, but with much lower pressure. Water is now delivered about every two weeks. Each unit has paid to cover the cost, increasing their monthly condo expenses by 30 percent.

‘Going both ways’: Young women are increasingly identifying as bisexual, but what does that mean?

In March, a Gallup poll of 12,000 Americans made the rounds with a startling finding: “More than one in five Gen Z adults identify as LGBTQ+.” Per Gallup, “If current trends continue, it is likely that the proportion of LGBTQ+ identifiers will exceed 10 per cent of U.S. adults at some point within the next three decades.”

It’s easy to look at those numbers and imagine a sea change in human behaviour. If you do not follow these topics closely – if you interpret “LGBTQ+” as 2024-speak for “This is about gay people,” you might come away with the impression that everyone is gay now, or will be in about five minutes.

The Surprisingly Shallow, Stupid World of Salman Rushdie

On the run from Islamic extremists for decades, Rushdie sees only danger from the Right.

Ever since the February day in 1989 when Iran’s Ayatollah Khomeini declared Salman Rushdie’s novel, The Satanic Verses, “blasphemous against Islam,” I have pulled for Salman Rushdie. I confess to having read none of his books and knew little of his politics, but this Indian-American author struck me as the ultimate embodiment of man’s fight for freedom.

And then — sigh! — I read his new memoir, Knife. The “knife” in the title refers to the weapon used by a young New Jersey Muslim named Hadi Matar. Matar stabbed Rushdie very nearly to death on the amphitheater stage of the Chautauqua Institution in August 2022. The stabbing was inconvenient. Had Rushdie been shot, ideally by a guy in a MAGA hat, the shooting would have justified his anxiety about America’s “insane gun violence and equally insane Trump and Trumpublicans.”

He’s a Muslim first despite the fatwa.

If Donald Trump is elected president again, will the biggest loser be Justin Trudeau or Pierre Poilievre?

Susan Delacourt: Canadian elections are rarely fought on foreign policy. Even the big free-trade election of 1988 boiled down to very domestic considerations, such as how expanding trade with the U.S. would affect businesses and employment here at home.

But I can picture the next election in Canada having some major foreign-policy debates. Since the last one in 2021, we now have war in Europe and the Middle East. We also have a monumental American election looming. That has me wondering who this will help or hurt in the battle between Conservatives and Liberals. Assuming we do have a foreign-policy election — and admittedly, that’s a big assumption — what are your thoughts, Matt?

Police hunt for Man Utd fan with ‘Hamas 7’ printed on his shirt

Police have launched a hunt for a Manchester United fan photographed wearing a team shirt with “Hamas 7” printed on the back.

The unidentified man was pictured walking near Oxford Circus tube station in central London on Friday afternoon.

Inviting support for a proscribed organisation – such as Hamas – or recklessly expressing support for one, is a criminal offence under Section 12 of the Terrorism Act.

Knife-wielding Tranny stabs four girls at an AMC theater before attacking couple inside a McDonald’s near Boston

A knife-wielding man in a blonde wig has stabbed four girls at an AMC theater before attacking a couple inside a McDonald’s near Boston, Massachusetts.

The suspect stabbed four girls, ages 9 to 17, at an AMC multiplex in Braintree at about 6 pm, before stabbing a 21-year-old female and a 29-year-old man at a McDonalds 30 miles away about an hour later.
