OTTAWA — Just months after Canada’s national broadcaster announced the end of big-money bonuses to its senior execs, newly-obtained documents suggest the CBC handed out a record-setting amount of raises during the previous fiscal year.
In access-to-information documents obtained by the Canadian Taxpayers Federation, the CBC handed out no bonuses in 2024-25, but awarded $37.7 million in wage hikes to 6,295 employees.

WASHINGTON — Former Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg failed to replace outdated air traffic control systems while in office — with his agency instead shelling out tens of billions of dollars on a DEI agenda, according to federal spending records and airline industry insiders.
In one meeting, Buttigieg — who is said to be eyeing a 2028 presidential run — told industry executives that air traffic control upgrades would just allow them to fly more planes, “and so why would that be in his interest?” sources said.

ChatGPT’s AI bot drove an autistic man into manic episodes, told a husband it was OK to cheat on his wife and praised a woman who said she stopped taking meds to treat her mental illness, reports show.
Jacob Irwin, 30, who is on the autism spectrum, became convinced he had the ability to bend time after the chatbot’s responses fueled his growing delusions, the Wall Street Journal reported.
Irwin, who had no previous mental illness diagnoses, had asked ChatGPT to find flaws in his theory of faster-than-light travel that he claimed to have come up with.

… On March 28, Callejas was arrested for battery after family said there was an altercation with her then-boyfriend. Family say Callejas maintains her innocence in the situation and said she was defending herself.
After posting bail, her family said Callejas was taken into ICE custody.
An ICE spokesperson said Callejas entered the United States on a non-immigrant visitor visa and violated the terms of her admission. ICE said she will “remain in custody pending completion of her immigration proceedings.”
The CBC makes this woman out to be a martyr.
Canada started building only slightly more homes in June than it did in May, the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corp. (CMHC) said on Wednesday.
Compared to May, the annual rate of housing starts was largely flat with a 0.4 per cent increase, but it rose 14 per cent compared to this time last year.
