Indian Migrant Arrested After Driver Rammed Into Several People in Derby
An Indian national has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after allegedly ploughing a car into pedestrians in Derby city centre on Saturday evening.
The English cathedral city of Derby was struck with horrific scenes as at least seven people were injured in the Friar Gate downtown area at around 9:30 pm when a black Suzuki Swift was driven into a crowd of people. Fortunately, all seven people did not suffer life-threatening injuries.

Federal loan to Nova Scotia wind farm managed by firm owned by Liberal MPs family members being investigated
At hearings in Ottawa on Wednesday, the head of the Canada Infrastructure Bank refused to state the interest rate on the $206-million loan to a wind farm project that’s being managed by a company owned by the family members of three former Liberal MPs and a former Nova Scotia Liberal Party leader.
The examination of the deal by the Standing Committee on Transport, Infrastructure and Communities was launched after The Chronicle Herald revealed that Roswall Development Inc., parent company to Renewall Energy, which will be selling the power from the Mersey River wind project, has deep Liberal connections.
No Kings protesters across the US rally against Donald Trump
Large protests against the Trump administration have taken place in cities across the US, marking the third iteration of No Kings rallies that have previously drawn crowds into the millions.
Organisers say they are protesting against policies imposed by US President Donald Trump, including the war in Iran, federal immigration enforcement and the rising cost of living.
“Trump wants to rule over us as a tyrant. But this is America, and power belongs to the people – not to wannabe kings or their billionaire cronies,” organisers said.

Thousands march against far right in London in biggest ever multicultural protest
Tens of thousands of people gathered in London to march against the far right in the biggest multicultural demonstration in UK history.
Organisers claimed half a million people had travelled to the capital for Saturday’s Together Alliance march. Police estimated the turnout was closer to 50,000, although they admitted it was difficult to judge the number due to the widespread nature of the crowd.
Beginning in Park Lane, more than 100 charities, campaign groups and trade unions marched to Trafalgar Square via Whitehall in a show of unity against far-right politics.

Leaked Chat Exposes Antisemitism Row in UK Green Party
Green Party activists are facing mounting backlash after leaked WhatsApp messages revealed members describing Jews as “an abomination to this planet” and promoting conspiracy claims about attacks on Jewish targets.
The messages, first reported by The Telegraph, come from a Greens for Palestine group chat and have prompted calls for party leader Zack Polanski to take action, amid warnings of growing antisemitism within the party’s activist base.
In one exchange, a participant wrote that Jews were “an abomination to this planet” during a discussion about Israel and Zionism. Police force that sent dozen officers to throw IT boss in a cell over blog post criticising senior officers is being sued
A police force that paid £20,000 compensation to a couple arrested over a school WhatsApp group is being sued by a company director thrown in a cell over a blog post.
A dozen Hertfordshire officers arrived at the home of IT boss Sam Smith after the force received complaints from two Facebook group members.
Mr Smith’s house was searched on March 8 last year, his devices were seized and he spent a night in a cell at Hatfield police station.
