Merz’s trenchant assessment of the stalled US-Iranian talks, which appeared certain to deepen the severe transatlantic rift between the US and its Nato allies, directly contradicts Trump’s effort to cast the limbo in a positive light.

Eco-warrior Emma Smart, 47, stormed into Catch at the Old Fish Market in Weymouth, Dorset to ‘liberate the lobster’, which she believed was going to be eaten.

However, the creature, which was not on the menu and was kept in a tank as a pet for ‘educational purposes’, would likely have died the moment it hit the cold water in the harbour.

He was ordered to pay the equivalent of more than $70 million to the U.S. government and $2 million to Quebec’s securities regulator for his role in schemes to manipulate share prices. He’s banned from stock markets in Canada. His bank and brokerage accounts were frozen and ordered to be seized. Known as the Canadian mastermind in the Panama Papers, Sharp has lost case after case in court.

But Sharp still has his freedom: Despite a push within the Canada Revenue Agency years ago to criminally investigate him, he’s never been charged in Canada. And while the U.S. Justice Department indicted him two years ago for securities fraud and conspiracy, there is no public evidence of an effort to extradite him.

But what the Canadians call North American includes gold from a swirl of faraway sources — including Colombian mines controlled by the Clan del Golfo drug cartel.
